GreekἸησοῦς οὖν πάλιν ἐμβριμώμενος ἐν ἑαυτῷ ἔρχεται εἰς τὸ μνημεῖον· ἦν δὲ σπήλαιον, καὶ λίθος ἐπέκειτο ἐπ’ αὐτῷ.
Orthodox ReadingJesus therefore, again deeply moved within himselfⓘ, came to the tombⓘ: it was a cave (spḗlaion), closed by the golel, the rolling stone, which lay over it.

Greekλέγει ὁ Ἰησοῦς· Ἄρατε τὸν λίθον. λέγει αὐτῷ ἡ ἀδελφὴ τοῦ ⸀τετελευτηκότος Μάρθα· Κύριε, ἤδη ὄζει, τεταρταῖος γάρ ἐστιν.
Orthodox ReadingJesus says: «Take away the stoneⓘ». Marthaⓘ, the sister of the deceased, by now an avelah in close mourning according to the funerary halakhahⓘ, says to him: «Lordⓘ, by now he gives off an odor: he has been four daysⓘ».

Greek⸀ἐξῆλθεν ὁ τεθνηκὼς δεδεμένος τοὺς πόδας καὶ τὰς χεῖρας κειρίαις, καὶ ἡ ὄψις αὐτοῦ σουδαρίῳ περιεδέδετο. λέγει ⸂αὐτοῖς ὁ Ἰησοῦς⸃· Λύσατε αὐτὸν καὶ ἄφετε ⸀αὐτὸν ὑπάγειν.
Orthodox ReadingThe dead manⓘ came out, bound feet and hands with the tachrikhin, the funeralⓘ bands, and his face wrapped in a sudariumⓘ. Jesus says to them: «Unbind himⓘ and let him goⓘ».
