The Mishnah is the first major work of rabbinic literature, compiled by Rabbi Yehudah HaNasi around 200 CE. It represents the codification of the Jewish oral tradition and constitutes the foundation of the Talmud.

The tractate Pesachim addresses the laws of the Jewish Passover, including the regulations for the elimination of chametz (leavened matter), the paschal sacrifice, and the conduct of the Seder.

The tractate Sanhedrin deals with the Jewish judicial system, courts of justice, legal procedures, and capital punishment according to Jewish law.

Yoma

The tractate Yoma (The Day) is dedicated entirely to Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, describing in detail the service of the Kohen Gadol in the Temple.

The tractate Sukkah treats the laws of the festival of Sukkot: the validity of the booth (dimensions, sekhakh covering, materials), the four species (lulav, etrog, hadas, aravah), the Temple rites, and the celebration of the Beth HaShoevah.

Rosh Hashanah

The tractate Rosh Hashanah treats the Jewish New Year, the sanctification of the new month, the sounding of the shofar, and the special liturgical prayers of this day.

Kiddushin

The tractate Kiddushin concerns the laws of Jewish marriage, particularly betrothal (kiddushin), the modes of acquisition of a wife, and questions of personal status.

Pirkei Avot

ืคึดึผืจึฐืงึตื™ ืึธื‘ื•ึนืช

6 ch.

Pirkei Avot (Ethics of the Fathers) is the ethical tractate of the Mishnah, unique in containing moral and spiritual maxims of the Tannaim rather than ritual law. Compiled around 200 CE by Rabbi Yehudah HaNasi, it is the most cited tractate in the New Testament halakhic corpus.

Berakhot

9 ch.

Berakhot (Blessings) is the first tractate of the Mishnah and Talmud, belonging to the order Zeraim. It deals with the recitation of the Shema, the Amidah prayer, and daily blessings. Its chapter 9 is foundational for the theology of divine acceptance in all circumstances.
