Τῇ ἐπαύριον ⸀ὁ ὄχλος πολὺς ὁ ἐλθὼν εἰς τὴν ἑορτήν, ἀκούσαντες ὅτι ἔρχεται ⸁ὁ Ἰησοῦς εἰς Ἱεροσόλυμα,
Il giorno seguente, la grande folla che era venuta per la festa, udito che Gesù veniva a Gerusalemme,
The following day, the great crowd of am ha-aretz (the common people not bound to the discipline of the haverimⓘ) who had come for the feast of Pesach (one of the three pilgrimage feastsⓘ), having heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalemⓘ,

ἔλαβον τὰ βαΐα τῶν φοινίκων καὶ ἐξῆλθον εἰς ὑπάντησιν αὐτῷ, καὶ ⸀ἐκραύγαζον· Ὡσαννά, εὐλογημένος ὁ ἐρχόμενος ἐν ὀνόματι κυρίου, ⸂καὶ ὁ⸃ βασιλεὺς τοῦ Ἰσραήλ.
prese dei rami di palme e uscì incontro a lui gridando: «Osanna! Benedetto colui che viene nel nome del Signore, il re d'Israele!».
took the branches of palmsⓘ and went out to meetⓘ him, and they were crying outⓘ: «Hosanna!ⓘ Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lordⓘ, the king of Israelⓘ!».

εὑρὼν δὲ ὁ Ἰησοῦς ὀνάριον ἐκάθισεν ἐπ’ αὐτό, καθώς ἐστιν γεγραμμένον·
Gesù, trovato un asinello, vi montò sopra, come sta scritto:
Jesus, having found a young donkeyⓘ, sat upon itⓘ, as it is writtenⓘ:

Μὴ φοβοῦ, θυγάτηρ Σιών· ἰδοὺ ὁ βασιλεύς σου ἔρχεται, καθήμενος ἐπὶ πῶλον ὄνου.
«Non temere, figlia di Sion! Ecco, il tuo re viene, seduto su un puledro d'asina».
«Fear not, daughter of Zion!ⓘ Behold, your king comes, seated on a colt of a donkeyⓘ».

⸀ταῦτα οὐκ ἔγνωσαν ⸂αὐτοῦ οἱ μαθηταὶ⸃ τὸ πρῶτον, ἀλλ’ ὅτε ἐδοξάσθη Ἰησοῦς τότε ἐμνήσθησαν ὅτι ταῦτα ἦν ἐπ’ αὐτῷ γεγραμμένα καὶ ταῦτα ἐποίησαν αὐτῷ.
I suoi discepoli sul momento non compresero queste cose; ma, quando Gesù fu glorificato, si ricordarono che di lui erano state scritte queste cose e che a lui essi le avevano fatte.
These things his disciplesⓘ did not understand at first; but when Jesus was glorifiedⓘ, then they rememberedⓘ that these things had been written about himⓘ and that they had done these things to him.

ἐμαρτύρει οὖν ὁ ὄχλος ὁ ὢν μετ’ αὐτοῦ ὅτε τὸν Λάζαρον ἐφώνησεν ἐκ τοῦ μνημείου καὶ ἤγειρεν αὐτὸν ἐκ νεκρῶν.
Intanto la folla, che era stata con lui quando chiamò Lazzaro fuori dal sepolcro e lo risuscitò dai morti, gli rendeva testimonianza.
The crowd therefore bore witnessⓘ, the crowd that was with him when he called Lazarusⓘ out of the tombⓘ and raised him from the deadⓘ.

διὰ τοῦτο ⸀καὶ ὑπήντησεν αὐτῷ ὁ ὄχλος ὅτι ⸀ἤκουσαν τοῦτο αὐτὸν πεποιηκέναι τὸ σημεῖον.
Anche per questo la folla gli andò incontro: perché aveva udito che egli aveva compiuto questo segno.
For this reason also the crowd went out to meet him, because it had heard that he had performed this signⓘ.

οἱ οὖν Φαρισαῖοι εἶπαν πρὸς ἑαυτούς· Θεωρεῖτε ὅτι οὐκ ὠφελεῖτε οὐδέν· ἴδε ὁ ⸀κόσμος ὀπίσω αὐτοῦ ἀπῆλθεν.
I farisei allora dissero tra loro: «Vedete che non ottenete nulla? Ecco, il mondo è andato dietro a lui!».
The Pharisees (perushim), the separated observant onesⓘ, then said among themselvesⓘ: «You see that you are gaining nothing?ⓘ Behold, the world has gone after himⓘ!».
