Ταῦτα εἰπὼν ⸀ὁ Ἰησοῦς ἐταράχθη τῷ πνεύματι καὶ ἐμαρτύρησεν καὶ εἶπεν· Ἀμὴν ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν ὅτι εἷς ἐξ ὑμῶν παραδώσει με.
Dette queste cose, Gesù fu profondamente turbato e dichiarò: «In verità, in verità io vi dico: uno di voi mi tradirà».
Having said these things, Jesus was deeply troubled in spiritⓘ and bore witnessⓘ and said: «Amen, amen, I say to youⓘ that one of you will hand me overⓘ».

⸀ἔβλεπον εἰς ἀλλήλους οἱ μαθηταὶ ἀπορούμενοι περὶ τίνος λέγει.
I discepoli si guardavano l'un l'altro, non sapendo di chi parlasse.
The disciples looked at one anotherⓘ, uncertain of whom he spokeⓘ.

⸀ἦν ἀνακείμενος εἷς ⸀ἐκ τῶν μαθητῶν αὐτοῦ ἐν τῷ κόλπῳ τοῦ Ἰησοῦ, ὃν ἠγάπα ὁ Ἰησοῦς·
Ora uno dei discepoli, quello che Gesù amava, si trovava a tavola al fianco di Gesù.
Reclining at table was one of his disciples on the bosom of Jesusⓘ, the one whom Jesus lovedⓘ.

νεύει οὖν τούτῳ Σίμων Πέτρος ⸂πυθέσθαι τίς ἂν εἴη⸃ περὶ οὗ λέγει.
Simon Pietro gli fece cenno di informarsi di chi stesse parlando.
So Shim'on Petrosⓘ makes a sign to this one to ask who it might be of whom he speaksⓘ.

⸀ἀναπεσὼν ἐκεῖνος οὕτως ἐπὶ τὸ στῆθος τοῦ Ἰησοῦ λέγει αὐτῷ· Κύριε, τίς ἐστιν;
Ed egli, chinandosi sul petto di Gesù, gli disse: «Signore, chi è?».
Leaning back thus on the chest of Jesusⓘ he says to him: «Lord, who is it?».

⸀ἀποκρίνεται ὁ Ἰησοῦς· Ἐκεῖνός ἐστιν ᾧ ἐγὼ ⸀βάψω τὸ ψωμίον ⸂καὶ δώσω αὐτῷ⸃· ⸂βάψας οὖν⸃ τὸ ⸀ψωμίον δίδωσιν Ἰούδᾳ Σίμωνος ⸀Ἰσκαριώτου.
Rispose Gesù: «È colui per il quale intingerò il boccone e glielo darò». E, intinto il boccone, lo prese e lo diede a Giuda, figlio di Simone Iscariota.
Jesus answers: «It is the one to whom I will dip the morsel and give it to himⓘ». Having dipped the morsel, then, he gives it to Yehudah son of Shim'on Iskariotⓘ.

καὶ μετὰ τὸ ψωμίον τότε εἰσῆλθεν εἰς ἐκεῖνον ὁ Σατανᾶς. λέγει οὖν αὐτῷ ⸀ὁ Ἰησοῦς· Ὃ ποιεῖς ποίησον τάχιον.
Allora, dopo il boccone, Satana entrò in lui. Gli disse dunque Gesù: «Quello che vuoi fare, fallo presto».
And after the morsel, then, ha-Satan entered into himⓘ. So Jesus says to him: «What you are doing, do more quicklyⓘ».

τοῦτο δὲ οὐδεὶς ἔγνω τῶν ἀνακειμένων πρὸς τί εἶπεν αὐτῷ·
Nessuno dei commensali capì perché gli avesse detto questo;
This none of the table companions understood why he had said it to himⓘ.

τινὲς γὰρ ἐδόκουν, ἐπεὶ τὸ γλωσσόκομον ⸀εἶχεν Ἰούδας, ὅτι λέγει αὐτῷ ⸀ὁ Ἰησοῦς· Ἀγόρασον ὧν χρείαν ἔχομεν εἰς τὴν ἑορτήν, ἢ τοῖς πτωχοῖς ἵνα τι δῷ.
alcuni infatti pensavano che, tenendo Giuda la cassa, Gesù gli avesse detto: «Compra quello che ci occorre per la festa», oppure che dovesse dare qualche cosa ai poveri.
For some thought, since Yehudah held the money boxⓘ, that Jesus was telling him: «Buy the things we need for the feastⓘ», or to give something to the poorⓘ.

λαβὼν οὖν τὸ ψωμίον ἐκεῖνος ⸂ἐξῆλθεν εὐθύς⸃. ἦν δὲ νύξ.
Egli, preso il boccone, subito uscì. Ed era notte.
Having taken the morsel, then, that one went out at onceⓘ. It was nightⓘ.
