GreekΚαὶ ἦν ἐκβάλλων ⸀δαιμόνιον κωφόν· ἐγένετο δὲ τοῦ δαιμονίου ἐξελθόντος ἐλάλησεν ὁ κωφός. καὶ ἐθαύμασαν οἱ ὄχλοι·
Orthodox ReadingJesus was driving out a mute demonⓘ; when the demon had gone out, the mute man spoke. And the crowds of am ha-aretz, the common folk not affiliated with the confraternities of observance (the ḥaverim)ⓘ were seized with amazementⓘ.

Greekτινὲς δὲ ἐξ αὐτῶν εἶπον· Ἐν Βεελζεβοὺλ ⸀τῷ ἄρχοντι τῶν δαιμονίων ἐκβάλλει τὰ δαιμόνια·

Greekαὐτὸς δὲ εἰδὼς αὐτῶν τὰ διανοήματα εἶπεν αὐτοῖς· Πᾶσα βασιλεία ἐφ’ ἑαυτὴν διαμερισθεῖσα ἐρημοῦται, καὶ οἶκος ἐπὶ οἶκον πίπτει.

Greekεἰ δὲ καὶ ὁ Σατανᾶς ἐφ’ ἑαυτὸν διεμερίσθη, πῶς σταθήσεται ἡ βασιλεία αὐτοῦ; ὅτι λέγετε ἐν Βεελζεβοὺλ ἐκβάλλειν με τὰ δαιμόνια.
Orthodox ReadingIf even Satan, ha-satanⓘ the adversary, is divided against himself, how will his Malkhut, sovereignty-kingdomⓘ stand? Since you say that I drive out the demons by Beelzebul.

Greekεἰ δὲ ἐγὼ ἐν Βεελζεβοὺλ ἐκβάλλω τὰ δαιμόνια, οἱ υἱοὶ ὑμῶν ἐν τίνι ἐκβάλλουσιν; διὰ τοῦτο ⸂αὐτοὶ ὑμῶν κριταὶ⸃ ἔσονται.
Orthodox ReadingBut if I drive out the demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your sonsⓘ — the mekashfim, the Jewish exorcists operating within Israel — drive them out? The accusation is self-contradictory: if Jewish exorcism is from God, so is his. Therefore, by an argument from the lesser to the greater (qal va-chomer) qal va-chomerⓘ, they will be your judges.

Greekεἰ δὲ ἐν δακτύλῳ ⸀θεοῦ ἐκβάλλω τὰ δαιμόνια, ἄρα ἔφθασεν ἐφ’ ὑμᾶς ἡ βασιλεία τοῦ θεοῦ.
Orthodox ReadingBut if it is by the finger of God (etzba Elohim) finger of Godⓘ that I drive out the demons, then the Malkhut of God, his Kingdom Malkhut of Godⓘ has come upon you.

Greekὁ μὴ ὢν μετ’ ἐμοῦ κατ’ ἐμοῦ ἐστιν, καὶ ὁ μὴ συνάγων μετ’ ἐμοῦ σκορπίζει.
