Greekκαὶ ἰδοὺ ⸀γυνὴ πνεῦμα ἔχουσα ἀσθενείας ἔτη ⸀δεκαοκτώ, καὶ ἦν συγκύπτουσα καὶ μὴ δυναμένη ἀνακύψαι εἰς τὸ παντελές.
Orthodox ReadingAnd behold, a woman who for eighteen years had had a spirit of infirmityⓘ; she was bent overⓘ and could not straighten herself at all.

Greekἰδὼν δὲ αὐτὴν ὁ Ἰησοῦς προσεφώνησεν καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῇ· Γύναι, ἀπολέλυσαι τῆς ἀσθενείας σου,
Orthodox ReadingJesus, seeing her, called her to himself and said to her: «Woman, you are set freeⓘ from your infirmity».

Greekκαὶ ἐπέθηκεν αὐτῇ τὰς χεῖρας· καὶ παραχρῆμα ἀνωρθώθη, καὶ ἐδόξαζεν τὸν θεόν.

Greekἀποκριθεὶς δὲ ὁ ἀρχισυνάγωγος, ἀγανακτῶν ὅτι τῷ σαββάτῳ ἐθεράπευσεν ὁ Ἰησοῦς, ἔλεγεν τῷ ὄχλῳ ⸀ὅτι Ἓξ ἡμέραι εἰσὶν ἐν αἷς δεῖ ἐργάζεσθαι· ἐν ⸀αὐταῖς οὖν ἐρχόμενοι θεραπεύεσθε καὶ μὴ τῇ ἡμέρᾳ τοῦ σαββάτου.
Orthodox ReadingBut the ruler of the synagogue (rosh ha-knesset) ruler of the synagogueⓘ, indignant because Jesus had healed on Shabbat, kept sayingⓘ to the crowd of the am ha-aretz (the common people not bound to the purity of the haverim) am ha-aretzⓘ: «There are six days in which one ought to work; on those therefore come and be healed, and not on the day of Shabbat».

Greekἀπεκρίθη ⸀δὲ αὐτῷ ὁ κύριος καὶ εἶπεν· Ὑποκριταί, ἕκαστος ὑμῶν τῷ σαββάτῳ οὐ λύει τὸν βοῦν αὐτοῦ ἢ τὸν ὄνον ἀπὸ τῆς φάτνης καὶ ⸀ἀπαγαγὼν ποτίζει;
Orthodox ReadingThe Lord answered him and said: «Hypocritesⓘ! Does not each of you, on Shabbat, loose his ox or his donkey from the manger to lead it away to water it, a work permitted on the day of restⓘ?

Greekταύτην δὲ θυγατέρα Ἀβραὰμ οὖσαν, ἣν ἔδησεν ὁ Σατανᾶς ἰδοὺ δέκα καὶ ὀκτὼ ἔτη, οὐκ ἔδει λυθῆναι ἀπὸ τοῦ δεσμοῦ τούτου τῇ ἡμέρᾳ τοῦ σαββάτου;
Orthodox ReadingAnd this woman, a daughter of Abraham (bat Avraham) bat Avrahamⓘ, whom ha-satan ha-satanⓘ has kept boundⓘ eighteen years, ought she not to have been loosed from this bond on the day of Shabbat, all the more so than the animal all the more soⓘ?».

Greekκαὶ ταῦτα λέγοντος αὐτοῦ κατῃσχύνοντο πάντες οἱ ἀντικείμενοι αὐτῷ, καὶ πᾶς ὁ ὄχλος ἔχαιρεν ἐπὶ πᾶσιν τοῖς ἐνδόξοις τοῖς γινομένοις ὑπ’ αὐτοῦ.
Orthodox ReadingAnd while he was saying these things, all his adversaries were put to shameⓘ, while the whole crowd rejoicedⓘ at all the gloriousⓘ works done by him.

GreekἜλεγεν ⸀οὖν· Τίνι ὁμοία ἐστὶν ἡ βασιλεία τοῦ θεοῦ, καὶ τίνι ὁμοιώσω αὐτήν;
Orthodox ReadingHe said therefore: «To what is the sovereignty of God like, the malkhut malkhutⓘ, and to what shall I compare it?

Greekὁμοία ἐστὶν κόκκῳ σινάπεως, ὃν λαβὼν ἄνθρωπος ἔβαλεν εἰς κῆπον ἑαυτοῦ, καὶ ηὔξησεν καὶ ἐγένετο εἰς ⸀δένδρον, καὶ τὰ πετεινὰ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ κατεσκήνωσεν ἐν τοῖς κλάδοις αὐτοῦ.
Orthodox ReadingIt is like a grain of mustard grain of mustardⓘ, which a man took and cast into his garden: it grew and became a tree, and the birds of the sky made their nestⓘ among its branches».

Greek⸀Καὶ πάλιν εἶπεν· Τίνι ὁμοιώσω τὴν βασιλείαν τοῦ θεοῦ;

Greekὁμοία ἐστὶν ζύμῃ, ἣν λαβοῦσα γυνὴ ⸀ἔκρυψεν εἰς ἀλεύρου σάτα τρία ἕως οὗ ἐζυμώθη ὅλον.
Orthodox ReadingIt is like leaven leavenⓘ, which a woman took and hidⓘ in three measures three measuresⓘ of flour, until it all fermented».
