Καὶ ὡς ἤγγισεν, ἰδὼν τὴν πόλιν ἔκλαυσεν ἐπ’ ⸀αὐτήν,
Quando fu vicino, alla vista della città pianse su di essa

λέγων ὅτι Εἰ ἔγνως ⸂ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ταύτῃ καὶ σὺ⸃ τὰ πρὸς ⸀εἰρήνην— νῦν δὲ ἐκρύβη ἀπὸ ὀφθαλμῶν σου.
dicendo: «Se avessi compreso anche tu, in questo giorno, quello che porta alla pace! Ma ora è stato nascosto ai tuoi occhi.
saying: «If you had understood, on this day, ⓘ! But now ⓘ from your eyes.

ὅτι ἥξουσιν ἡμέραι ἐπὶ σὲ καὶ ⸀παρεμβαλοῦσιν οἱ ἐχθροί σου χάρακά σοι καὶ περικυκλώσουσίν σε καὶ συνέξουσίν σε πάντοθεν,
Verranno infatti per te giorni in cui i tuoi nemici ti circonderanno di trincee, ti assedieranno e ti stringeranno da ogni parte;
Days will come upon you when your enemies ⓘ and will press you on every side;

καὶ ἐδαφιοῦσίν σε καὶ τὰ τέκνα σου ἐν σοί, καὶ οὐκ ἀφήσουσιν ⸂λίθον ἐπὶ λίθον ἐν σοί⸃, ἀνθ’ ὧν οὐκ ἔγνως τὸν καιρὸν τῆς ἐπισκοπῆς σου.
distruggeranno te e i tuoi figli dentro di te e non lasceranno in te pietra su pietra, perché non hai riconosciuto il tempo in cui sei stata visitata».
they will destroy you and your children within you, and ⓘ, because you did not recognize ⓘ».

Καὶ εἰσελθὼν εἰς τὸ ἱερὸν ἤρξατο ἐκβάλλειν τοὺς ⸀πωλοῦντας,
Entrato poi nel tempio, si mise a scacciare quelli che vendevano,

λέγων αὐτοῖς· Γέγραπται· ⸂Καὶ ἔσται⸃ ὁ οἶκός μου οἶκος ⸀προσευχῆς, ὑμεῖς δὲ αὐτὸν ἐποιήσατε σπήλαιον λῃστῶν.
dicendo loro: «Sta scritto: La mia casa sarà casa di preghiera. Voi invece ne avete fatto un covo di ladri».
saying: «It is written: ⓘ. But you have made it a den of ⓘ».

Καὶ ἦν διδάσκων τὸ καθ’ ἡμέραν ἐν τῷ ἱερῷ· οἱ δὲ ἀρχιερεῖς καὶ οἱ γραμματεῖς ἐζήτουν αὐτὸν ἀπολέσαι καὶ οἱ πρῶτοι τοῦ λαοῦ,
Ogni giorno insegnava nel tempio. I capi dei sacerdoti e gli scribi cercavano di farlo morire, e così anche i notabili del popolo;
Every day he ⓘ in the ⓘ. The ⓘ and the ⓘ ⓘ to put him to death, and so too the ⓘ;

καὶ οὐχ ⸀εὕρισκον τὸ τί ποιήσωσιν, ὁ λαὸς γὰρ ἅπας ἐξεκρέματο αὐτοῦ ἀκούων.
