Καὶ ὅτε ἐπλήσθησαν αἱ ἡμέραι τοῦ καθαρισμοῦ αὐτῶν κατὰ τὸν νόμον Μωϋσέως, ἀνήγαγον αὐτὸν εἰς Ἱεροσόλυμα παραστῆσαι τῷ κυρίῳ,
Quando furono compiuti i giorni della loro purificazione rituale, secondo la legge di Mosè, portarono il bambino a Gerusalemme per presentarlo al Signore,
And when the days of their ⓘ according to the ⓘ of Moses were fulfilled, they brought him up to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord,

καθὼς γέγραπται ἐν νόμῳ κυρίου ὅτι Πᾶν ἄρσεν διανοῖγον μήτραν ἅγιον τῷ κυρίῳ κληθήσεται,
come è scritto nella legge del Signore: «Ogni maschio primogenito sarà sacro al Signore»,
as it is written in the ⓘ of the Lord: «ⓘ»,

καὶ τοῦ δοῦναι θυσίαν κατὰ τὸ εἰρημένον ἐν ⸀τῷ νόμῳ κυρίου, ζεῦγος τρυγόνων ἢ δύο νοσσοὺς περιστερῶν.
e per offrire in sacrificio un paio di tortore o due giovani colombi, come prescrive la legge del Signore.
and to offer in ⓘ according to what is said in the ⓘ of the Lord: «ⓘ», the offering that was handed over to the ⓘ.

Καὶ ἰδοὺ ⸂ἄνθρωπος ἦν⸃ ἐν Ἰερουσαλὴμ ᾧ ὄνομα Συμεών, καὶ ὁ ἄνθρωπος οὗτος δίκαιος καὶ εὐλαβής, προσδεχόμενος παράκλησιν τοῦ Ἰσραήλ, καὶ πνεῦμα ἦν ἅγιον ἐπ’ αὐτόν·
Ora a Gerusalemme c'era un uomo di nome Simeone, uomo giusto e pio, che aspettava la consolazione d'Israele, e lo Spirito Santo era su di lui.
And behold, there was a man in Jerusalem named Simeon, and this man was righteous and ⓘ, one of the pure observant ones ⓘ, and he awaited the ⓘ, and the ⓘ was upon him.

καὶ ἦν αὐτῷ κεχρηματισμένον ὑπὸ τοῦ πνεύματος τοῦ ἁγίου μὴ ἰδεῖν θάνατον πρὶν ⸂ἢ ἂν⸃ ἴδῃ τὸν χριστὸν κυρίου.
Lo Spirito Santo gli aveva preannunciato che non avrebbe visto la morte senza prima aver veduto il Cristo del Signore.
And it had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not see death before he had seen the ⓘ of the Lord.

καὶ ἦλθεν ἐν τῷ πνεύματι εἰς τὸ ἱερόν· καὶ ἐν τῷ εἰσαγαγεῖν τοὺς γονεῖς τὸ παιδίον Ἰησοῦν τοῦ ποιῆσαι αὐτοὺς κατὰ τὸ εἰθισμένον τοῦ νόμου περὶ αὐτοῦ
Mosso dallo Spirito, si recò al tempio e, mentre i genitori vi portavano il bambino Gesù per fare ciò che la Legge prescriveva a suo riguardo,
And he came in the Spirit into the ⓘ; and while the parents were bringing in the child Jesus to do for him according to what was customary of the ⓘ,

καὶ αὐτὸς ἐδέξατο αὐτὸ εἰς τὰς ⸀ἀγκάλας καὶ εὐλόγησεν τὸν θεὸν καὶ εἶπεν·
lo prese tra le braccia e benedisse Dio, dicendo:
he too received him into his arms and pronounced the ⓘ and said:

Νῦν ἀπολύεις τὸν δοῦλόν σου, δέσποτα, κατὰ τὸ ῥῆμά σου ἐν εἰρήνῃ·
«Ora puoi lasciare, o Signore, che il tuo servo vada in pace, secondo la tua parola,
«Now you dismiss your servant, O Sovereign, according to your word, in ⓘ;

ὅτι εἶδον οἱ ὀφθαλμοί μου τὸ σωτήριόν σου
perché i miei occhi hanno visto la tua salvezza,
for my eyes have seen your ⓘ,
31
ὃ ἡτοίμασας κατὰ πρόσωπον πάντων τῶν λαῶν,
preparata da te davanti a tutti i popoli:
which you have prepared before the face of all the peoples:
32
φῶς εἰς ἀποκάλυψιν ἐθνῶν καὶ δόξαν λαοῦ σου Ἰσραήλ.
luce per illuminare le genti e gloria del tuo popolo, Israele».

καὶ ἦν ⸂ὁ πατὴρ αὐτοῦ⸃ καὶ ἡ ⸀μήτηρ θαυμάζοντες ἐπὶ τοῖς λαλουμένοις περὶ αὐτοῦ.
Il padre e la madre del bambino si stupivano delle cose che si dicevano di lui.
And his father and his mother were marveling at the things said about him.

καὶ εὐλόγησεν αὐτοὺς Συμεὼν καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς Μαριὰμ τὴν μητέρα αὐτοῦ· Ἰδοὺ οὗτος κεῖται εἰς πτῶσιν καὶ ἀνάστασιν πολλῶν ἐν τῷ Ἰσραὴλ καὶ εἰς σημεῖον ἀντιλεγόμενον,
Simeone li benedisse e a Maria, sua madre, disse: «Ecco, egli è qui per la caduta e la risurrezione di molti in Israele e come segno di contraddizione
And Simeon blessed them and said to Mary, his mother: «Behold, this one is set for the ⓘ and as a ⓘ,

καὶ σοῦ ⸀δὲ αὐτῆς τὴν ψυχὴν διελεύσεται ῥομφαία, ὅπως ἂν ἀποκαλυφθῶσιν ἐκ πολλῶν καρδιῶν διαλογισμοί.
— e anche a te una spada trafiggerà l'anima —, affinché siano svelati i pensieri di molti cuori».
— and a ⓘ will pierce your own soul too — that the reasonings of many hearts may be revealed».

Καὶ ἦν Ἅννα προφῆτις, θυγάτηρ Φανουήλ, ἐκ φυλῆς Ἀσήρ (αὕτη προβεβηκυῖα ἐν ἡμέραις πολλαῖς, ζήσασα ⸂μετὰ ἀνδρὸς ἔτη⸃ ἑπτὰ ἀπὸ τῆς παρθενίας αὐτῆς,
C'era anche una profetessa, Anna, figlia di Fanuele, della tribù di Aser. Era molto avanzata in età, aveva vissuto con il marito sette anni dopo il suo matrimonio,
And there was ⓘ, daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of ⓘ; she was much advanced in days, having lived with her husband seven years from her virginity,

καὶ αὐτὴ χήρα ⸀ἕως ἐτῶν ὀγδοήκοντα τεσσάρων,) ἣ οὐκ ⸀ἀφίστατο τοῦ ἱεροῦ νηστείαις καὶ δεήσεσιν λατρεύουσα νύκτα καὶ ἡμέραν.
era poi rimasta vedova e ora aveva ottantaquattro anni. Non si allontanava mai dal tempio, servendo Dio notte e giorno con digiuni e preghiere.
and was a widow until eighty-four years; she did not depart from the temple, serving in the ⓘ with fastings and supplications night and day.

⸀καὶ αὐτῇ τῇ ὥρᾳ ἐπιστᾶσα ἀνθωμολογεῖτο τῷ ⸀θεῷ καὶ ἐλάλει περὶ αὐτοῦ πᾶσιν τοῖς προσδεχομένοις ⸀λύτρωσιν Ἰερουσαλήμ.
Sopraggiunta in quel momento, si mise anche lei a lodare Dio e parlava del bambino a quanti aspettavano la redenzione di Gerusalemme.
And coming upon them in that same hour she rendered praise to God and spoke of him to all those who awaited the ⓘ.

Καὶ ὡς ἐτέλεσαν ⸀πάντα τὰ κατὰ τὸν νόμον κυρίου, ⸀ἐπέστρεψαν εἰς τὴν Γαλιλαίαν ⸀εἰς πόλιν ἑαυτῶν Ναζαρέθ.
Quando ebbero adempiuto ogni cosa secondo la legge del Signore, fecero ritorno in Galilea, alla loro città di Nazaret.
And when they had accomplished everything according to the ⓘ of the Lord, they returned to Galilee, to their city of Nazareth.

Τὸ δὲ παιδίον ηὔξανεν καὶ ἐκραταιοῦτο ⸂πληρούμενον σοφίᾳ⸃, καὶ χάρις θεοῦ ἦν ἐπ’ αὐτό.
Il bambino cresceva e si fortificava, pieno di sapienza, e la grazia di Dio era su di lui.
And the child grew and became strong, ⓘ, and the grace of God was upon him.
