Ἐγένετο ⸀δὲ τῇ ἑξῆς ἡμέρᾳ κατελθόντων αὐτῶν ἀπὸ τοῦ ὄρους συνήντησεν αὐτῷ ὄχλος πολύς.
Il giorno seguente, quando furono scesi dal monte, una grande folla gli venne incontro.
And it came to pass, on the following day, while they were descending from the mountainⓘ, that a numerous crowd came to meet him.

καὶ ἰδοὺ ἀνὴρ ἀπὸ τοῦ ὄχλου ⸀ἐβόησεν λέγων· Διδάσκαλε, δέομαί σου ἐπιβλέψαι ἐπὶ τὸν υἱόν μου, ὅτι μονογενής ⸂μοί ἐστιν⸃,
Ed ecco, un uomo dalla folla si mise a gridare: «Maestro, ti prego, volgi lo sguardo a mio figlio, perché è l'unico che ho.
And behold, a man from the crowd cried out loudlyⓘ saying: «Rabbi (Master)ⓘ, I beseech you, turn your gazeⓘ upon my son, for only-begotten he is to meⓘ,

καὶ ἰδοὺ πνεῦμα λαμβάνει αὐτόν, καὶ ἐξαίφνης κράζει, καὶ σπαράσσει αὐτὸν μετὰ ἀφροῦ καὶ ⸀μόγις ἀποχωρεῖ ἀπ’ αὐτοῦ συντρῖβον αὐτόν·
Ecco, uno spirito lo afferra e subito grida, lo scuote facendolo schiumare e a stento se ne allontana lasciandolo sfinito.
and behold, a spirit seizes himⓘ, and suddenly he screams, it convulses him with foamingⓘ, and scarcelyⓘ does it withdraw from him, shattering him.

καὶ ἐδεήθην τῶν μαθητῶν σου ἵνα ἐκβάλωσιν αὐτό, καὶ οὐκ ἠδυνήθησαν.
Ho pregato i tuoi discepoli di scacciarlo, ma non ci sono riusciti».
And I besoughtⓘ your disciplesⓘ to cast it out, and they could not».

ἀποκριθεὶς δὲ ὁ Ἰησοῦς εἶπεν· Ὦ γενεὰ ἄπιστος καὶ διεστραμμένη, ἕως πότε ἔσομαι πρὸς ὑμᾶς καὶ ἀνέξομαι ὑμῶν; προσάγαγε ⸂ὧδε τὸν υἱόν σου⸃.
Gesù rispose: «O generazione incredula e perversa, fino a quando sarò con voi e vi sopporterò? Conduci qui tuo figlio».
Answering, Jesus said: «O unbelieving and perverse generationⓘ, until when shall I be with you and bear with youⓘ? Bring hereⓘ your son».

ἔτι δὲ προσερχομένου αὐτοῦ ἔρρηξεν αὐτὸν τὸ δαιμόνιον καὶ συνεσπάραξεν· ἐπετίμησεν δὲ ὁ Ἰησοῦς τῷ πνεύματι τῷ ἀκαθάρτῳ, καὶ ἰάσατο τὸν παῖδα καὶ ἀπέδωκεν αὐτὸν τῷ πατρὶ αὐτοῦ.
Mentre questi si avvicinava, il demonio lo gettò a terra scuotendolo con convulsioni. Gesù minacciò lo spirito immondo, guarì il fanciullo e lo restituì a suo padre.
And while he was still approaching, the demon threw him to the ground and convulsed him together; but Jesus rebukedⓘ the unclean spiritⓘ, healedⓘ the boy and restored him to his father.

ἐξεπλήσσοντο δὲ πάντες ἐπὶ τῇ μεγαλειότητι τοῦ θεοῦ. Πάντων δὲ θαυμαζόντων ἐπὶ πᾶσιν οἷς ⸀ἐποίει εἶπεν πρὸς τοὺς μαθητὰς αὐτοῦ·
E tutti furono sbalorditi per la grandezza di Dio.
All were astounded before the greatness of Godⓘ. And while all were marveling at all the things he was doing, he said to his disciplesⓘ:
