Καὶ ἔλεγεν· ⸀Πῶς ὁμοιώσωμεν τὴν βασιλείαν τοῦ θεοῦ, ἢ ἐν ⸀τίνι ⸂αὐτὴν παραβολῇ θῶμεν⸃;
Diceva: «A che cosa possiamo paragonare il regno di Dio o con quale parabola possiamo descriverlo?
He said: «To what shall we compare the Kingdom of Godⓘ, or with what parableⓘ shall we set it forth?

ὡς ⸀κόκκῳ σινάπεως, ὃς ὅταν σπαρῇ ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς, ⸂μικρότερον ὂν⸃ πάντων τῶν ⸀σπερμάτων τῶν ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς—
È come un granello di senape che, quando viene seminato sul terreno, è il più piccolo di tutti i semi che sono sul terreno;
It is like a grain of mustardⓘ, the smallestⓘ of all the seedsⓘ that are upon the ground;

καὶ ὅταν σπαρῇ, ἀναβαίνει καὶ γίνεται ⸂μεῖζον πάντων τῶν λαχάνων⸃ καὶ ποιεῖ κλάδους μεγάλους, ὥστε δύνασθαι ὑπὸ τὴν σκιὰν αὐτοῦ τὰ πετεινὰ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ κατασκηνοῦν.
ma, quando viene seminato, cresce e diventa più grande di tutte le piante dell'orto e fa rami così grandi che gli uccelli del cielo possono fare il nido alla sua ombra».
but, when it is sownⓘ, it rises and becomes greater than all the herbs of the gardenⓘ and puts forth large branchesⓘ, so that the birds of heaven can make their nest in its shadeⓘ».

Καὶ τοιαύταις παραβολαῖς πολλαῖς ἐλάλει αὐτοῖς τὸν λόγον, καθὼς ἠδύναντο ἀκούειν·
Con molte parabole di questo genere annunciava loro la Parola, come potevano intendere.
And with many parablesⓘ of this kind he went on proclaimingⓘ to them the Wordⓘ, according as they were ableⓘ to understand;

χωρὶς δὲ παραβολῆς οὐκ ἐλάλει αὐτοῖς, κατ’ ἰδίαν δὲ τοῖς ⸂ἰδίοις μαθηταῖς⸃ ἐπέλυεν πάντα.
Senza parabole non parlava loro ma, in privato, ai suoi discepoli spiegava ogni cosa.
without a parable he did not speakⓘ to them, but in privateⓘ to his own disciplesⓘ he unloosed everythingⓘ.
