Καὶ λέγει αὐτοῖς ἐν ἐκείνῃ τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ὀψίας γενομένης· Διέλθωμεν εἰς τὸ πέραν.
In quel medesimo giorno, venuta la sera, disse loro: «Passiamo all'altra riva».
On that same day, when evening had come, he said to them: «Let us cross over to the other sideⓘ».

καὶ ἀφέντες τὸν ὄχλον παραλαμβάνουσιν αὐτὸν ὡς ἦν ἐν τῷ πλοίῳ, καὶ ἄλλα ⸀πλοῖα ἦν μετ’ αὐτοῦ.
E, congedata la folla, lo presero con sé, così com'era, nella barca. C'erano anche altre barche con lui.
And, leaving the crowdⓘ, they took him with them, just as he was, in the boat; and there were other boats with him.

καὶ γίνεται λαῖλαψ ⸂μεγάλη ἀνέμου⸃, ⸂καὶ τὰ⸃ κύματα ἐπέβαλλεν εἰς τὸ πλοῖον, ὥστε ⸂ἤδη γεμίζεσθαι τὸ πλοῖον⸃.
Ci fu una grande tempesta di vento e le onde si rovesciavano nella barca, tanto che ormai era piena.
And a great windstormⓘ arises, and the waves were breaking into the boat, so that it was now filling up.

καὶ ⸂αὐτὸς ἦν⸃ ⸀ἐν τῇ πρύμνῃ ἐπὶ τὸ προσκεφάλαιον καθεύδων· καὶ ⸀ἐγείρουσιν αὐτὸν καὶ λέγουσιν αὐτῷ· Διδάσκαλε, οὐ μέλει σοι ὅτι ἀπολλύμεθα;
Egli se ne stava a poppa, sul cuscino, e dormiva. Allora lo svegliarono e gli dissero: «Maestro, non t'importa che siamo perduti?».
He was sleeping in the stern on the cushionⓘ. His disciplesⓘ woke him and said to him: «Rabbi (rav)ⓘ, does it not matter to you that we are perishingⓘ?».

καὶ διεγερθεὶς ἐπετίμησεν τῷ ἀνέμῳ καὶ εἶπεν τῇ θαλάσσῃ· Σιώπα, πεφίμωσο. καὶ ἐκόπασεν ὁ ἄνεμος, καὶ ἐγένετο γαλήνη μεγάλη.
Si destò, minacciò il vento e disse al mare: «Taci, calmati!». Il vento cessò e ci fu grande bonaccia.
He awoke, rebuked the windⓘ and said to the seaⓘ: «Be silent, be muzzledⓘ!», subduing the waters of the tehom (תְּהוֹם), the primordial abyss of Gen 1:2. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calmⓘ.

καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς· Τί δειλοί ἐστε; ⸀οὔπω ἔχετε πίστιν;
Poi disse loro: «Perché avete paura? Non avete ancora fede?».
And he said to them: «Why are you afraidⓘ? Do you still not have emunah, faithful trustⓘ?».

καὶ ἐφοβήθησαν φόβον μέγαν, καὶ ἔλεγον πρὸς ἀλλήλους· Τίς ἄρα οὗτός ἐστιν ὅτι καὶ ὁ ἄνεμος καὶ ἡ θάλασσα ⸀ὑπακούει αὐτῷ;
E furono presi da grande timore e si dicevano l'un l'altro: «Chi è dunque costui, che anche il vento e il mare gli obbediscono?».
And they were seized with yir'at HaShem, reverential aweⓘ and said to one another: «Who then is thisⓘ, that even the wind and the sea obey him?».
