45
And immediatelyⓘ he compelledⓘ his disciples disciplesⓘ to get into the boat and to go before him to the other side, toward Bethsaidaⓘ, while he himself dismissed the crowd of am ha-aretz (the non-observant common folk, not ḥaverim) the crowdⓘ.
46
And, having taken leaveⓘ of them, he went up onto the mountainⓘ to prayⓘ.
47
And, when evening had comeⓘ, the boat was in the midst of the sea and he, alone, on land.
48
And, seeing themⓘ straining at the oarsⓘ, because the wind was contraryⓘ, toward the fourth watch of the nightⓘ he comesⓘ toward them walking on the seaⓘ, and he wished to pass them byⓘ.
49
They, seeing him walking on the seaⓘ, thought it was a ghostⓘ and cried outⓘ,
50
because they all saw him and were terrifiedⓘ. But immediately he spoke with them and says: «Take heart, I am, do not fearⓘ».
51
And he went up to them into the boatⓘ, and the wind ceasedⓘ. And they were beside themselves with great astonishmentⓘ,
52
because they had not understood about the loavesⓘ: their heart was hardenedⓘ.
