Ἀπὸ τότε ἤρξατο ⸂ὁ Ἰησοῦς⸃ δεικνύειν τοῖς μαθηταῖς αὐτοῦ ὅτι δεῖ αὐτὸν ⸂εἰς Ἱεροσόλυμα ἀπελθεῖν⸃ καὶ πολλὰ παθεῖν ἀπὸ τῶν πρεσβυτέρων καὶ ἀρχιερέων καὶ γραμματέων καὶ ἀποκτανθῆναι καὶ τῇ τρίτῃ ἡμέρᾳ ἐγερθῆναι.

Da allora Gesù cominciò a spiegare ai suoi discepoli che doveva andare a Gerusalemme e soffrire molto da parte degli anziani, dei capi dei sacerdoti e degli scribi, e venire ucciso e risorgere il terzo giorno.

From that time Jesus began to show his disciples disciplesⓘ that he mustⓘ go to Jerusalem and suffer greatly at the hands of the zeqenim (the elders, the lay notables of the Sanhedrin) zeqenimⓘ, of the archiereis-kohanim (the chief priests, the Sadducean aristocracy, the Saddoukaioi at the summit of the Temple) archiereisⓘ, and of the soferim (the scribes, the experts of the Torah) soferimⓘ, and be killed and rise on the third dayⓘ.

καὶ προσλαβόμενος αὐτὸν ὁ Πέτρος ἤρξατο ἐπιτιμᾶν αὐτῷ λέγων· Ἵλεώς σοι, κύριε· οὐ μὴ ἔσται σοι τοῦτο.

Pietro lo prese in disparte e si mise a rimproverarlo dicendo: «Dio te ne scampi, Signore; questo non ti accadrà mai».

Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him, saying: «God forbid, Lord; this shall never happen to you».

ὁ δὲ στραφεὶς εἶπεν τῷ Πέτρῳ· Ὕπαγε ὀπίσω μου, Σατανᾶ· σκάνδαλον ⸂εἶ ἐμοῦ⸃, ὅτι οὐ φρονεῖς τὰ τοῦ θεοῦ ἀλλὰ τὰ τῶν ἀνθρώπων.

Ma egli, voltandosi, disse a Pietro: «Va' dietro a me, Satana! Tu mi sei di scandalo, perché non pensi secondo Dio, ma secondo gli uomini!».

But he, turning around, said to Peter: «Get behind meⓘ, Satanⓘ! You are a stumbling blockⓘ to me, because you do not think according to God, but according to men!».

Τότε ὁ Ἰησοῦς εἶπεν τοῖς μαθηταῖς αὐτοῦ· Εἴ τις θέλει ὀπίσω μου ἐλθεῖν, ἀπαρνησάσθω ἑαυτὸν καὶ ἀράτω τὸν σταυρὸν αὐτοῦ καὶ ἀκολουθείτω μοι.

Allora Gesù disse ai suoi discepoli: «Se qualcuno vuole venire dietro a me, rinneghi se stesso, prenda la sua croce e mi segua.

Then Jesus said to his disciples: «If anyone wants to come after me, let him deny himselfⓘ, let him take up his crossⓘ, and follow me.

ὃς γὰρ ⸀ἐὰν θέλῃ τὴν ψυχὴν αὐτοῦ σῶσαι ἀπολέσει αὐτήν· ὃς δ’ ἂν ἀπολέσῃ τὴν ψυχὴν αὐτοῦ ἕνεκεν ἐμοῦ εὑρήσει αὐτήν.

Perché chi vuole salvare la propria vita, la perderà; ma chi perderà la propria vita per causa mia, la troverà.

For whoever wants to save his own lifeⓘ will lose it; but whoever loses his nephesh for my sake will find it.

τί γὰρ ⸀ὠφεληθήσεται ἄνθρωπος ἐὰν τὸν κόσμον ὅλον κερδήσῃ τὴν δὲ ψυχὴν αὐτοῦ ζημιωθῇ; ἢ τί δώσει ἄνθρωπος ἀντάλλαγμα τῆς ψυχῆς αὐτοῦ;

Infatti quale vantaggio avrà un uomo se guadagnerà il mondo intero, ma perderà la propria vita? O che cosa un uomo potrà dare in cambio della propria vita?

For what advantage will a man have if he gains the whole world, but loses his own lifeⓘ? Or what can a man give in exchange for his own life?

μέλλει γὰρ ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου ἔρχεσθαι ἐν τῇ δόξῃ τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτοῦ μετὰ τῶν ἀγγέλων αὐτοῦ, καὶ τότε ἀποδώσει ἑκάστῳ κατὰ τὴν πρᾶξιν αὐτοῦ.

Poiché il Figlio dell'uomo sta per venire nella gloria del Padre suo, con i suoi angeli, e allora renderà a ciascuno secondo le sue azioni.

For the Son of Man, bar enashⓘ, is about to come in the gloryⓘ of his Father, with his angelsⓘ, and then he will repay each one according to his deedsⓘ.

ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν ⸀ὅτι εἰσίν τινες ⸂τῶν ὧδε ἑστώτων⸃ οἵτινες οὐ μὴ γεύσωνται θανάτου ἕως ἂν ἴδωσιν τὸν υἱὸν τοῦ ἀνθρώπου ἐρχόμενον ἐν τῇ βασιλείᾳ αὐτοῦ.

In verità io vi dico: vi sono alcuni, tra i presenti, che non moriranno prima di aver visto il Figlio dell'uomo venire con il suo regno».

Amen, I say to youⓘ: there are some, among those present, who will not dieⓘ before they have seen the Son of Man coming in his kingdom, the Malkhut Shamayimⓘ».
