Τότε πορευθέντες οἱ Φαρισαῖοι συμβούλιον ἔλαβον ὅπως αὐτὸν παγιδεύσωσιν ἐν λόγῳ.
Allora i farisei se ne andarono e tennero consiglio per vedere come coglierlo in fallo nei suoi discorsi.
The Pharisees (perushim, the observant) took counselⓘ in order to trap him in his wordsⓘ.

καὶ ἀποστέλλουσιν αὐτῷ τοὺς μαθητὰς αὐτῶν μετὰ τῶν Ἡρῳδιανῶν ⸀λέγοντες· Διδάσκαλε, οἴδαμεν ὅτι ἀληθὴς εἶ καὶ τὴν ὁδὸν τοῦ θεοῦ ἐν ἀληθείᾳ διδάσκεις, καὶ οὐ μέλει σοι περὶ οὐδενός, οὐ γὰρ βλέπεις εἰς πρόσωπον ἀνθρώπων·
Mandarono dunque da lui i propri discepoli, con gli erodiani, a dirgli: «Maestro, sappiamo che sei veritiero e insegni la via di Dio secondo verità. Tu non hai soggezione di alcuno, perché non guardi in faccia a nessuno.
They sent their disciplesⓘ together with the Herodiansⓘ: «Teacherⓘ, we know that you are truthful and that you teach the way of Godⓘ in accordance with truth, and that you show partiality to no oneⓘ.

εἰπὸν οὖν ἡμῖν τί σοι δοκεῖ· ἔξεστιν δοῦναι κῆνσον Καίσαρι ἢ οὔ;
Dunque, dicci il tuo parere: è lecito o no pagare il tributo a Cesare?».
Is it lawfulⓘ to pay the tribute to Caesarⓘ or not?».

γνοὺς δὲ ὁ Ἰησοῦς τὴν πονηρίαν αὐτῶν εἶπεν· Τί με πειράζετε, ὑποκριταί;
Ma Gesù, conoscendo la loro malizia, rispose: «Ipocriti, perché volete mettermi alla prova?
But Jesusⓘ, knowing their malice: «Why do you put me to the testⓘ, hypocrites?

ἐπιδείξατέ μοι τὸ νόμισμα τοῦ κήνσου. οἱ δὲ προσήνεγκαν αὐτῷ δηνάριον.
Mostratemi la moneta del tributo». Ed essi gli presentarono un denaro.
Show me the coin of the tributeⓘ». They handed him a denariusⓘ.

καὶ λέγει αὐτοῖς· Τίνος ἡ εἰκὼν αὕτη καὶ ἡ ἐπιγραφή;
Egli domandò loro: «Questa immagine e l'iscrizione, di chi sono?».
«Whose is this image and the inscriptionⓘ?».

λέγουσιν ⸀αὐτῷ· Καίσαρος. τότε λέγει αὐτοῖς· Ἀπόδοτε οὖν τὰ Καίσαρος Καίσαρι καὶ τὰ τοῦ θεοῦ τῷ θεῷ.
Gli risposero: «Di Cesare». Allora disse loro: «Rendete dunque a Cesare quello che è di Cesare e a Dio quello che è di Dio».
«Caesar's». Then he says to them: «Renderⓘ therefore to Caesar what is Caesar's, and to God what is God'sⓘ».

καὶ ἀκούσαντες ἐθαύμασαν, καὶ ἀφέντες αὐτὸν ἀπῆλθαν.
A queste parole rimasero meravigliati, lo lasciarono e se ne andarono.
Amazed, they left him and went away.
