Ἀκούσας ⸀δὲ ὅτι Ἰωάννης παρεδόθη ἀνεχώρησεν εἰς τὴν Γαλιλαίαν.

Avendo udito che Giovanni era stato consegnato, si ritirò nella Galilea;

Now when he heard that Johnⓘ had been handed overⓘ, he withdrew into Galileeⓘ;

καὶ καταλιπὼν τὴν Ναζαρὰ ἐλθὼν κατῴκησεν εἰς Καφαρναοὺμ τὴν παραθαλασσίαν ἐν ὁρίοις Ζαβουλὼν καὶ Νεφθαλίμ·

e lasciata Nazaret, venne ad abitare a Cafarnao sul mare, nei confini di Zabulon e Neftali,

and leaving Nazarethⓘ, he came and dwelt in Capernaumⓘ by the sea, in the territory of Zebulun and Naphtaliⓘ,

ἵνα πληρωθῇ τὸ ῥηθὲν διὰ Ἠσαΐου τοῦ προφήτου λέγοντος·

perché si adempisse ciò che era stato detto per mezzo del profeta Isaia:

so that what had been spoken through the prophet Isaiahⓘ might be fulfilledⓘ:

Γῆ Ζαβουλὼν καὶ γῆ Νεφθαλίμ, ὁδὸν θαλάσσης, πέραν τοῦ Ἰορδάνου, Γαλιλαία τῶν ἐθνῶν,

«Terra di Zabulon e terra di Neftali, sulla via del mare, oltre il Giordano, Galilea delle genti:

«Land of Zebulun and land of Naphtali, by the way of the seaⓘ, beyond the Jordanⓘ, Galilee of the nationsⓘ:

ὁ λαὸς ὁ καθήμενος ἐν ⸀σκοτίᾳ ⸂φῶς εἶδεν⸃ μέγα, καὶ τοῖς καθημένοις ἐν χώρᾳ καὶ σκιᾷ θανάτου φῶς ἀνέτειλεν αὐτοῖς.

il popolo che sedeva nelle tenebre vide una grande luce, e su quelli che sedevano nella regione e ombra di morte una luce si levò».

the people who sat in darknessⓘ saw a great light, and upon those who sat in the region and shadow of deathⓘ a lightⓘ has dawned».

Ἀπὸ τότε ἤρξατο ὁ Ἰησοῦς κηρύσσειν καὶ λέγειν· Μετανοεῖτε, ἤγγικεν γὰρ ἡ βασιλεία τῶν οὐρανῶν.

Da allora Gesù cominciò a predicare e a dire: «Convertitevi, perché il regno dei cieli è vicino».

From then on Jesusⓘ began to proclaimⓘ: «Returnⓘ, for the kingdom of Heavenⓘ is at handⓘ».
