⸂Εἰσελθόντος δὲ αὐτοῦ⸃ εἰς Καφαρναοὺμ προσῆλθεν αὐτῷ ἑκατόνταρχος παρακαλῶν αὐτὸν
Entrato in Cafarnao, gli venne incontro un centurione che lo supplicava
Having entered Capernaumⓘ, a centurionⓘ came to meet him, beseeching him

καὶ λέγων· Κύριε, ὁ παῖς μου βέβληται ἐν τῇ οἰκίᾳ παραλυτικός, δεινῶς βασανιζόμενος.
e diceva: «Signore, il mio servo è in casa, a letto, paralizzato e soffre terribilmente».
and saying: «Lordⓘ, my servantⓘ lies at home, paralyzed, and suffers terribly».

⸀καὶ λέγει ⸀αὐτῷ· Ἐγὼ ἐλθὼν θεραπεύσω αὐτόν.
Gli disse: «Verrò e lo curerò».
He said to him: «I will come and heal him».

⸂καὶ ἀποκριθεὶς⸃ ὁ ἑκατόνταρχος ἔφη· Κύριε, οὐκ εἰμὶ ἱκανὸς ἵνα μου ὑπὸ τὴν στέγην εἰσέλθῃς· ἀλλὰ μόνον εἰπὲ λόγῳ, καὶ ἰαθήσεται ὁ παῖς μου·
Ma il centurione rispose: «Signore, io non sono degno che tu entri sotto il mio tetto, ma di' soltanto una parola e il mio servo sarà guarito.
The centurion answered: «Lord, I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof; but only say a wordⓘ and my servant will be healed.

καὶ γὰρ ἐγὼ ἄνθρωπός εἰμι ὑπὸ ⸀ἐξουσίαν, ἔχων ὑπ’ ἐμαυτὸν στρατιώτας, καὶ λέγω τούτῳ· Πορεύθητι, καὶ πορεύεται, καὶ ἄλλῳ· Ἔρχου, καὶ ἔρχεται, καὶ τῷ δούλῳ μου· Ποίησον τοῦτο, καὶ ποιεῖ.
Pur essendo anch'io un subalterno, ho sotto di me dei soldati e dico a uno: Va', ed egli va; e a un altro: Vieni, ed egli viene; e al mio servo: Fa' questo, ed egli lo fa».
For I too am a man under authorityⓘ, and I say to one: Go, and he goes».

ἀκούσας δὲ ὁ Ἰησοῦς ἐθαύμασεν καὶ εἶπεν τοῖς ἀκολουθοῦσιν· Ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν, ⸂παρ’ οὐδενὶ τοσαύτην πίστιν ἐν τῷ Ἰσραὴλ⸃ εὗρον.
Udito ciò, Gesù si meravigliò e disse a quelli che lo seguivano: «In verità io vi dico, in Israele non ho trovato nessuno con una fede così grande!
Having heard this, Jesus marveledⓘ and said: «Truly, in Israel I have not found such great faithⓘ!

λέγω δὲ ὑμῖν ὅτι πολλοὶ ἀπὸ ἀνατολῶν καὶ δυσμῶν ἥξουσιν καὶ ἀνακλιθήσονται μετὰ Ἀβραὰμ καὶ Ἰσαὰκ καὶ Ἰακὼβ ἐν τῇ βασιλείᾳ τῶν οὐρανῶν·
Ora io vi dico che molti verranno dall'oriente e dall'occidente e siederanno a mensa con Abramo, Isacco e Giacobbe nel regno dei cieli,
Many will come from east and west and will recline at table with Abraham, Isaac and Jacobⓘ,

οἱ δὲ υἱοὶ τῆς βασιλείας ἐκβληθήσονται εἰς τὸ σκότος τὸ ἐξώτερον· ἐκεῖ ἔσται ὁ κλαυθμὸς καὶ ὁ βρυγμὸς τῶν ὀδόντων.
mentre i figli del regno saranno cacciati fuori, nelle tenebre, dove sarà pianto e stridore di denti».
while the sons of the kingdom will be cast outⓘ, into the darknessⓘ, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth».

καὶ εἶπεν ὁ Ἰησοῦς τῷ ἑκατοντάρχῃ· Ὕπαγε, ⸀ὡς ἐπίστευσας γενηθήτω σοι· καὶ ἰάθη ὁ ⸀παῖς ἐν τῇ ὥρᾳ ἐκείνῃ.
E Gesù disse al centurione: «Va', avvenga per te come hai creduto». In quell'istante il suo servo fu guarito.
And Jesus said to the centurion: «Go, let it be done for you as you have believedⓘ». And the servant was healed in that hour.
