⸂Ἐν δὲ⸃ τῷ πορεύεσθαι ⸀αὐτοὺς αὐτὸς εἰσῆλθεν εἰς κώμην τινά· γυνὴ δέ τις ὀνόματι Μάρθα ὑπεδέξατο ⸀αὐτὸν.
Mentre erano in cammino, entrò in un villaggio e una donna, di nome Marta, lo ospitò.
While they were on the wayⓘ he enteredⓘ a village, and a woman named Martha welcomed himⓘ.

καὶ τῇδε ἦν ἀδελφὴ καλουμένη ⸀Μαριάμ, ἣ καὶ ⸂παρακαθεσθεῖσα πρὸς⸃ τοὺς πόδας τοῦ ⸀Ἰησοῦ ἤκουεν τὸν λόγον αὐτοῦ.
Ella aveva una sorella, di nome Maria, la quale, seduta ai piedi del Signore, ascoltava la sua parola.
She had a sister called Mary, who, having sat at the feet of the Lordⓘ, was listening to his wordⓘ.

ἡ δὲ Μάρθα περιεσπᾶτο περὶ πολλὴν διακονίαν· ἐπιστᾶσα δὲ εἶπεν· Κύριε, οὐ μέλει σοι ὅτι ἡ ἀδελφή μου μόνην με ⸀κατέλειπεν διακονεῖν; ⸀εἰπὲ οὖν αὐτῇ ἵνα μοι συναντιλάβηται.
Marta invece era distolta per i molti servizi. Allora si fece avanti e disse: «Signore, non t'importa nulla che mia sorella mi abbia lasciata sola a servire? Dille dunque che mi aiuti».
Martha, however, was busyⓘ about the many servicesⓘ. Having come upⓘ she said: «Lord, do you not care that my sister is leaving meⓘ alone to serve? Tell herⓘ then to help me».

ἀποκριθεὶς δὲ εἶπεν αὐτῇ ὁ ⸀κύριος· Μάρθα Μάρθα, μεριμνᾷς καὶ ⸀θορυβάζῃ περὶ πολλά,
Ma il Signore le rispose: «Marta, Marta, tu ti affanni e ti agiti per molte cose,
Answering, saidⓘ the Lord: «Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubledⓘ about many things,

⸂ὀλίγων δέ ἐστιν χρεία ἢ ἑνός⸃· ⸂Μαριὰμ γὰρ⸃ τὴν ἀγαθὴν μερίδα ἐξελέξατο ἥτις οὐκ ἀφαιρεθήσεται ⸀αὐτῆς.
ma di una cosa sola c'è bisogno. Maria ha scelto la parte migliore, che non le sarà tolta».
but of few things there is need, indeed of one onlyⓘ: Mary choseⓘ the good part, which will not be taken from herⓘ».
