Καὶ ἐπηρώτησέν τις αὐτὸν ἄρχων λέγων· Διδάσκαλε ἀγαθέ, τί ποιήσας ζωὴν αἰώνιον κληρονομήσω;
Un notabile lo interrogò: «Maestro buono, che cosa devo fare per ereditare la vita eterna?».
And a rulerⓘ questioned him saying: «Good teacherⓘ, what shall I do to inheritⓘ eternal life?».

εἶπεν δὲ αὐτῷ ὁ Ἰησοῦς· Τί με λέγεις ἀγαθόν; οὐδεὶς ἀγαθὸς εἰ μὴ εἷς ὁ θεός.
Gesù gli rispose: «Perché mi chiami buono? Nessuno è buono, se non Dio solo.
And Jesus said to him: «Why do you call me good? No one is good except one alone, Godⓘ.

τὰς ἐντολὰς οἶδας· Μὴ μοιχεύσῃς, Μὴ φονεύσῃς, Μὴ κλέψῃς, Μὴ ψευδομαρτυρήσῃς, Τίμα τὸν πατέρα σου καὶ τὴν ⸀μητέρα.
Tu conosci i comandamenti: Non commettere adulterio, non uccidere, non rubare, non testimoniare il falso, onora tuo padre e tua madre».
You know the commandments: do not commit adultery, do not kill, do not steal, do not bear false witness, honor your father and motherⓘ».

ὁ δὲ εἶπεν· Ταῦτα πάντα ⸀ἐφύλαξα ἐκ νεότητος ⸀μου.
Costui disse: «Tutte queste cose le ho osservate fin dalla giovinezza».
He said: «All these things I have kept from my youthⓘ».

ἀκούσας ⸀δὲ ὁ Ἰησοῦς εἶπεν αὐτῷ· Ἔτι ἕν σοι λείπει· πάντα ὅσα ἔχεις πώλησον καὶ διάδος πτωχοῖς, καὶ ἕξεις θησαυρὸν ἐν ⸀οὐρανοῖς, καὶ δεῦρο ἀκολούθει μοι.
Udito ciò, Gesù gli disse: «Una cosa ancora ti manca: vendi tutto quello che hai, distribuiscilo ai poveri e avrai un tesoro nei cieli; poi vieni e seguimi».
Hearing this, Jesus said to him: «One thing you still lack: sell all that you have and distribute it to the poorⓘ, and you shall have a treasure in the heavensⓘ; and come, follow meⓘ».

ὁ δὲ ἀκούσας ταῦτα περίλυπος ⸀ἐγενήθη, ἦν γὰρ πλούσιος σφόδρα.
Ma quello, udite queste parole, divenne assai triste, perché era molto ricco.
Having heard these things, he became exceedingly sad, for he was very richⓘ.

Ἰδὼν δὲ αὐτὸν ὁ ⸀Ἰησοῦς εἶπεν· Πῶς δυσκόλως οἱ τὰ χρήματα ἔχοντες ⸂εἰς τὴν βασιλείαν τοῦ θεοῦ εἰσπορεύονται⸃·
Gesù, vedendolo così triste, disse: «Quanto è difficile, per quelli che possiedono ricchezze, entrare nel regno di Dio.
Seeing him, Jesus said: «How hard it is for those who have riches to enter the kingdom of Godⓘ!

εὐκοπώτερον γάρ ἐστιν κάμηλον διὰ ⸂τρήματος βελόνης⸃ εἰσελθεῖν ἢ πλούσιον εἰς τὴν βασιλείαν τοῦ θεοῦ εἰσελθεῖν.
È più facile infatti per un cammello passare per la cruna di un ago, che per un ricco entrare nel regno di Dio».
For it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needleⓘ, than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God».

Εἶπαν δὲ οἱ ἀκούσαντες· Καὶ τίς δύναται σωθῆναι;
Quelli che ascoltavano dissero: «E chi può essere salvato?».
Those who heard said: «And who can be saved?».
27
ὁ δὲ εἶπεν· Τὰ ἀδύνατα παρὰ ἀνθρώποις δυνατὰ ⸂παρὰ τῷ θεῷ ἐστιν⸃.
Rispose: «Ciò che è impossibile agli uomini, è possibile a Dio».
He said: «The things impossible with men are possible with Godⓘ».

Εἶπεν δὲ ⸀ὁ Πέτρος· Ἰδοὺ ἡμεῖς ⸂ἀφέντες τὰ ἴδια⸃ ἠκολουθήσαμέν σοι.
Pietro allora disse: «Noi abbiamo lasciato i nostri beni e ti abbiamo seguito».
Then Peterⓘ said: «Behold, we, having left our own goodsⓘ, have followed you».

ὁ δὲ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς· Ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν ὅτι οὐδείς ἐστιν ὃς ἀφῆκεν οἰκίαν ἢ ⸂γυναῖκα ἢ ἀδελφοὺς ἢ γονεῖς⸃ ἢ τέκνα ἕνεκεν τῆς βασιλείας τοῦ θεοῦ,
Ed egli rispose: «In verità io vi dico: non c'è nessuno che abbia lasciato casa o moglie o fratelli o genitori o figli per il regno di Dio,
He said to them: «Amen, I say to youⓘ that there is no one who has left house or wife or brothers or parents or childrenⓘ for the sake of the kingdom of God,

ὃς ⸀οὐχὶ μὴ ⸀ἀπολάβῃ πολλαπλασίονα ἐν τῷ καιρῷ τούτῳ καὶ ἐν τῷ αἰῶνι τῷ ἐρχομένῳ ζωὴν αἰώνιον.
che non riceva molto di più nel tempo presente e la vita eterna nel tempo che verrà».
who will not receive many times more in this time, and in the time to come eternal lifeⓘ».
