Καὶ ἤρξατο αὐτοῖς ἐν παραβολαῖς ⸀λαλεῖν· Ἀμπελῶνα ⸂ἄνθρωπος ἐφύτευσεν⸃, καὶ περιέθηκεν φραγμὸν καὶ ὤρυξεν ὑπολήνιον καὶ ᾠκοδόμησεν πύργον, καὶ ἐξέδετο αὐτὸν γεωργοῖς, καὶ ἀπεδήμησεν.
Si mise a parlare loro con parabole: «Un uomo piantò una vigna, vi mise attorno una siepe, scavò una buca per il torchio e costruì una torre; poi la diede in affitto a dei contadini e se ne andò lontano.
He began to speak to them in parablesⓘ: «A man planted a vineyardⓘ, set a hedgeⓘ around it, dug the winepressⓘ and built a towerⓘ, and leased it to tenant farmersⓘ, and went away on a journeyⓘ.

καὶ ἀπέστειλεν πρὸς τοὺς γεωργοὺς τῷ καιρῷ δοῦλον, ἵνα παρὰ τῶν γεωργῶν λάβῃ ἀπὸ ⸂τῶν καρπῶν⸃ τοῦ ἀμπελῶνος·
Al momento opportuno mandò un servo dai contadini a ritirare da loro la sua parte del raccolto della vigna.
At the opportune timeⓘ he sent a servantⓘ to the tenant farmers, to receive from them some of the fruit of the vineyard.

⸀καὶ ἄλλον ἀπέστειλεν· κἀκεῖνον ἀπέκτειναν, καὶ πολλοὺς ἄλλους, ⸂οὓς μὲν δέροντες οὓς δὲ ἀποκτέννοντες⸃.
Mandò molti altri servi: di questi alcuni li bastonarono, altri li uccisero.
He sent another, and this one they killed; and many others, beating some, killing others — the Deuteronomistic pattern of the repeated rejection of the prophets (2 Chr 36:15-16; Neh 9:26).

ἔτι ⸂ἕνα εἶχεν, υἱὸν ἀγαπητόν· ἀπέστειλεν⸃ αὐτὸν ⸂ἔσχατον πρὸς αὐτοὺς⸃ λέγων ὅτι Ἐντραπήσονται τὸν υἱόν μου.
Ne aveva ancora uno, un figlio amato; lo inviò loro per ultimo, dicendo: Avranno rispetto per mio figlio!
He still had one, a beloved sonⓘ; he sent him to them last, saying: «They will show regardⓘ for my son».

ἐκεῖνοι δὲ οἱ γεωργοὶ ⸂πρὸς ἑαυτοὺς εἶπαν⸃ ὅτι Οὗτός ἐστιν ὁ κληρονόμος· δεῦτε ἀποκτείνωμεν αὐτόν, καὶ ἡμῶν ἔσται ἡ κληρονομία.
Ma quei contadini dissero tra loro: Costui è l'erede. Su, uccidiamolo e l'eredità sarà nostra!
But those tenant farmers said to one another: «This is the heirⓘ; come, let us kill him, and the inheritanceⓘ will be ours».

καὶ λαβόντες ⸂ἀπέκτειναν αὐτόν, καὶ ἐξέβαλον αὐτὸν⸃ ἔξω τοῦ ἀμπελῶνος.
Lo presero, lo uccisero e lo gettarono fuori della vigna.
And they seized him, killed him, and threw him outside the vineyardⓘ.

⸀τί ποιήσει ὁ κύριος τοῦ ἀμπελῶνος; ἐλεύσεται καὶ ἀπολέσει τοὺς γεωργούς, καὶ δώσει τὸν ἀμπελῶνα ἄλλοις.
Che cosa farà dunque il padrone della vigna? Verrà e farà morire i contadini e darà la vigna ad altri.
What then will the lord of the vineyardⓘ do? He will come and destroy those tenant farmers, and give the vineyard to othersⓘ.

οὐδὲ τὴν γραφὴν ταύτην ἀνέγνωτε· Λίθον ὃν ἀπεδοκίμασαν οἱ οἰκοδομοῦντες, οὗτος ἐγενήθη εἰς κεφαλὴν γωνίας·
Non avete letto questa Scrittura: La pietra che i costruttori hanno scartato è diventata la pietra d'angolo;
Have you not read even this Scripture: «The stone that the builders rejectedⓘ, this has become the cornerstoneⓘ:

παρὰ κυρίου ἐγένετο αὕτη, καὶ ἔστιν θαυμαστὴ ἐν ὀφθαλμοῖς ἡμῶν;
questo è stato fatto dal Signore ed è una meraviglia ai nostri occhi?».
from the Tetragrammatonⓘ this has been done, and it is marvelous in our eyesⓘ?».

Καὶ ἐζήτουν αὐτὸν κρατῆσαι, καὶ ἐφοβήθησαν τὸν ὄχλον, ἔγνωσαν γὰρ ὅτι πρὸς αὐτοὺς τὴν παραβολὴν εἶπεν. καὶ ἀφέντες αὐτὸν ἀπῆλθον.
Cercavano di catturarlo, ma ebbero paura della folla; avevano capito infatti che aveva detto quella parabola contro di loro.
And they kept trying to arrest himⓘ, the chief priests (the kohanim of the temple summit)ⓘ, the scribes (soferim)ⓘ and the elders (zeqenim)ⓘ, but they feared the crowd — for they had understoodⓘ that he had told the parable against them. And leaving himⓘ, they went away.
