⸀καὶ ἔρχεται εἷς τῶν ἀρχισυναγώγων, ὀνόματι Ἰάϊρος, καὶ ἰδὼν αὐτὸν πίπτει πρὸς τοὺς πόδας αὐτοῦ
Si recò da lui uno dei capi della sinagoga, di nome Giàiro, il quale, vedutolo, gli si gettò ai piedi
One of the synagogue leaders came (an archisynagṓgos), of the class of observant notablesⓘ, named Jairusⓘ and, seeing him, threw himself at his feetⓘ

καὶ ⸀παρακαλεῖ αὐτὸν πολλὰ λέγων ὅτι Τὸ θυγάτριόν μου ἐσχάτως ἔχει, ἵνα ἐλθὼν ἐπιθῇς ⸂τὰς χεῖρας αὐτῇ⸃ ⸀ἵνα σωθῇ καὶ ⸀ζήσῃ.
e lo supplicò con insistenza: «La mia figlioletta sta morendo: vieni a imporle le mani, perché sia salvata e viva».
and pleaded with him insistently: «My little daughter is at the point of deathⓘ: come, lay your hands on herⓘ so that she may be saved and liveⓘ».

καὶ ἀπῆλθεν μετ’ αὐτοῦ. Καὶ ἠκολούθει αὐτῷ ὄχλος πολύς, καὶ συνέθλιβον αὐτόν.
Andò con lui. Molta folla lo seguiva e gli si stringeva intorno.
He went with him. A great crowd of am ha-aretz followed him (the commoners not rigorously observantⓘ), and they pressed in on him.

καὶ ⸀γυνὴ οὖσα ἐν ῥύσει αἵματος ⸂δώδεκα ἔτη⸃
Ora una donna, che aveva perdite di sangue da dodici anni
And behold, a woman with a hemorrhage of twelve yearsⓘ,

καὶ πολλὰ παθοῦσα ὑπὸ πολλῶν ἰατρῶν καὶ δαπανήσασα τὰ παρ’ αὐτῆς πάντα καὶ μηδὲν ὠφεληθεῖσα ἀλλὰ μᾶλλον εἰς τὸ χεῖρον ἐλθοῦσα,
e aveva molto sofferto per opera di molti medici, spendendo tutti i suoi averi senza alcun vantaggio, anzi piuttosto peggiorando,
who had suffered greatly under many physicians, spending everything and growing worse,

⸀ἀκούσασα περὶ τοῦ Ἰησοῦ, ἐλθοῦσα ἐν τῷ ὄχλῳ ὄπισθεν ἥψατο τοῦ ἱματίου αὐτοῦ·
udito parlare di Gesù, venne tra la folla, alle sue spalle, e toccò il suo mantello.
having heard about Jesus, came among the crowd of am ha-aretz (the commonersⓘ) from behind and touched his cloakⓘ.

ἔλεγεν γὰρ ὅτι ⸂Ἐὰν ἅψωμαι κἂν τῶν ἱματίων αὐτοῦ⸃ σωθήσομαι.
Diceva infatti: «Se riuscirò anche solo a toccare le sue vesti, sarò salvata».
For she kept saying: «If I touch even just his garmentsⓘ, I will be savedⓘ».

καὶ ⸀εὐθὺς ἐξηράνθη ἡ πηγὴ τοῦ αἵματος αὐτῆς, καὶ ἔγνω τῷ σώματι ὅτι ἴαται ἀπὸ τῆς μάστιγος.
E subito le si fermò il flusso di sangue e sentì nel suo corpo che era guarita dal male.
And immediately the source of her blood dried upⓘ, and she knew in her body that she was healed of the afflictionⓘ.

ὁ δὲ εἶπεν αὐτῇ· ⸀Θυγάτηρ, ἡ πίστις σου σέσωκέν σε· ὕπαγε εἰς εἰρήνην, καὶ ἴσθι ὑγιὴς ἀπὸ τῆς μάστιγός σου.
Ed egli le disse: «Figlia, la tua fede ti ha salvata. Va' in pace e sii guarita dal tuo male».
And he said to her: «Daughterⓘ, your faithⓘ has saved you; go in peaceⓘ, and be healthy from your affliction».

Ἔτι αὐτοῦ λαλοῦντος ἔρχονται ἀπὸ τοῦ ἀρχισυναγώγου λέγοντες ὅτι Ἡ θυγάτηρ σου ἀπέθανεν· τί ἔτι σκύλλεις τὸν διδάσκαλον;
«Tua figlia è morta. Perché disturbi ancora il Maestro?».
While he was still speaking, they came from the house of the synagogue leader (the archisynagṓgos, the observant notableⓘ) saying: «Your daughter has diedⓘ: why do you still trouble the Masterⓘ?».

καὶ κρατήσας τῆς χειρὸς τοῦ παιδίου λέγει αὐτῇ· Ταλιθα ⸀κουμ, ὅ ἐστιν μεθερμηνευόμενον· Τὸ κοράσιον, σοὶ λέγω, ⸀ἔγειρε.
Prese la mano della bambina e le disse: «Talità kum», che significa: «Fanciulla, io ti dico: àlzati!».
and, having taken the child's handⓘ, he says to her: «Talitha kumⓘ», which translated is: «Little girl, I say to you, ariseⓘ».

καὶ ⸀εὐθὺς ἀνέστη τὸ κοράσιον καὶ περιεπάτει, ἦν γὰρ ἐτῶν δώδεκα. καὶ ἐξέστησαν ⸁εὐθὺς ἐκστάσει μεγάλῃ.
E subito la fanciulla si alzò e camminava.
And immediately the little girl got up and walked: for she was twelve years oldⓘ. And they were seized with great amazement.
