Καὶ ἐγένετο ὅτε ἐτέλεσεν ὁ Ἰησοῦς πάντας τοὺς λόγους τούτους, εἶπεν τοῖς μαθηταῖς αὐτοῦ·
Terminati tutti questi discorsi, Gesù disse ai suoi discepoli:
When he had finishedⓘ all these discourses, Jesus saidⓘ to his disciplesⓘ:

Οἴδατε ὅτι μετὰ δύο ἡμέρας τὸ πάσχα γίνεται, καὶ ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου παραδίδοται εἰς τὸ σταυρωθῆναι.
«Voi sapete che tra due giorni è la Pasqua e il Figlio dell'uomo sarà consegnato per essere crocifisso».
«You knowⓘ that in two daysⓘ it is the Passoverⓘ, and the Son of Manⓘ will be handed overⓘ to be crucifiedⓘ».

Τότε συνήχθησαν οἱ ⸀ἀρχιερεῖς καὶ οἱ πρεσβύτεροι τοῦ λαοῦ εἰς τὴν αὐλὴν τοῦ ἀρχιερέως τοῦ λεγομένου Καϊάφα,
Allora i capi dei sacerdoti e gli anziani del popolo si riunirono nel palazzo del sommo sacerdote, che si chiamava Caifa,
Then the chief priests (kohanim of the temple leadership)ⓘ and the elders of the people (zeqenim)ⓘ gatheredⓘ in the palaceⓘ of the high priest Caiaphasⓘ

καὶ συνεβουλεύσαντο ἵνα τὸν Ἰησοῦν δόλῳ κρατήσωσιν καὶ ἀποκτείνωσιν·
e tennero consiglio per catturare Gesù con un inganno e farlo morire.
and took counselⓘ to seize Jesus by deceitⓘ and to kill himⓘ.

ἔλεγον δέ· Μὴ ἐν τῇ ἑορτῇ, ἵνα μὴ θόρυβος γένηται ἐν τῷ λαῷ.
Dicevano però: «Non durante la festa, perché non avvenga un tumulto fra il popolo».
But they were sayingⓘ: «Not during the feastⓘ, lest there be a riotⓘ among the peopleⓘ».
