Greekἐγὼ δὲ λέγω ὑμῖν ὅτι πᾶς ὁ ὀργιζόμενος τῷ ἀδελφῷ ⸀αὐτοῦ ἔνοχος ἔσται τῇ κρίσει· ὃς δ’ ἂν εἴπῃ τῷ ἀδελφῷ αὐτοῦ· Ῥακά, ἔνοχος ἔσται τῷ συνεδρίῳ· ὃς δ’ ἂν εἴπῃ· Μωρέ, ἔνοχος ἔσται εἰς τὴν γέενναν τοῦ πυρός.
Orthodox ReadingBut I say to you: whoever is angry with his brotherⓘ shall be subject to the judgment; whoever says to his brother «Raca»ⓘ shall be subject to the Sanhedrin (bet din)ⓘ; whoever says to him «fool» shall be liable to the Gehennaⓘ of fire.

Greekἐὰν οὖν προσφέρῃς τὸ δῶρόν σου ἐπὶ τὸ θυσιαστήριον κἀκεῖ μνησθῇς ὅτι ὁ ἀδελφός σου ἔχει τι κατὰ σοῦ,

Greekἄφες ἐκεῖ τὸ δῶρόν σου ἔμπροσθεν τοῦ θυσιαστηρίου καὶ ὕπαγε πρῶτον διαλλάγηθι τῷ ἀδελφῷ σου, καὶ τότε ἐλθὼν πρόσφερε τὸ δῶρόν σου.
Orthodox Readingleave your offering there before the altar and go first to be reconciledⓘ with your brother, then come back to present your offering.

Greekἴσθι εὐνοῶν τῷ ἀντιδίκῳ σου ταχὺ ἕως ὅτου εἶ ⸂μετ’ αὐτοῦ ἐν τῇ ὁδῷ⸃, μήποτέ σε παραδῷ ὁ ἀντίδικος τῷ κριτῇ, καὶ ὁ ⸀κριτὴς τῷ ὑπηρέτῃ, καὶ εἰς φυλακὴν βληθήσῃ·
Orthodox ReadingCome to terms quickly with your adversaryⓘ while you are on the way with him, lest he hand you over to the judge, and the judge to the guard, and you be thrown into prison.

Greekἀμὴν λέγω σοι, οὐ μὴ ἐξέλθῃς ἐκεῖθεν ἕως ἂν ἀποδῷς τὸν ἔσχατον κοδράντην.

Greekἐγὼ δὲ λέγω ὑμῖν ὅτι πᾶς ὁ βλέπων γυναῖκα πρὸς τὸ ἐπιθυμῆσαι αὐτὴν ἤδη ἐμοίχευσεν αὐτὴν ἐν τῇ καρδίᾳ αὐτοῦ.
Orthodox ReadingBut I say to you: whoever looks at a woman to desire her has already committed adultery with her in his heartⓘ.

Greekεἰ δὲ ὁ ὀφθαλμός σου ὁ δεξιὸς σκανδαλίζει σε, ἔξελε αὐτὸν καὶ βάλε ἀπὸ σοῦ, συμφέρει γάρ σοι ἵνα ἀπόληται ἓν τῶν μελῶν σου καὶ μὴ ὅλον τὸ σῶμά σου βληθῇ εἰς γέενναν.
Orthodox ReadingIf your right eye is an occasion of stumblingⓘ to you, pluck it out and throw it away: it is better for you to lose one of your members than for your whole body to be thrown into Gehenna.

Greekκαὶ εἰ ἡ δεξιά σου χεὶρ σκανδαλίζει σε, ἔκκοψον αὐτὴν καὶ βάλε ἀπὸ σοῦ, συμφέρει γάρ σοι ἵνα ἀπόληται ἓν τῶν μελῶν σου καὶ μὴ ὅλον τὸ σῶμά σου ⸂εἰς γέενναν ἀπέλθῃ⸃.
Orthodox ReadingAnd if your right hand is an occasion of stumbling to you, cut it off and throw it away.

Greekἐγὼ δὲ λέγω ὑμῖν ὅτι ⸂πᾶς ὁ ἀπολύων⸃ τὴν γυναῖκα αὐτοῦ παρεκτὸς λόγου πορνείας ποιεῖ αὐτὴν ⸀μοιχευθῆναι, καὶ ὃς ἐὰν ἀπολελυμένην γαμήσῃ μοιχᾶται.
Orthodox ReadingBut I say to you: whoever divorces his wife, except in the case of unlawful unionⓘ, exposes her to adultery, and whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery.

Orthodox Readingnor by the earth, for it is the footstool of his feet; nor by Jerusalemⓘ, for it is the city of the great King.

Greekκαὶ τῷ θέλοντί σοι κριθῆναι καὶ τὸν χιτῶνά σου λαβεῖν, ἄφες αὐτῷ καὶ τὸ ἱμάτιον·

Orthodox Readingso that you may be sons of your Father who is in the Heavensⓘ, for he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.

Orthodox ReadingFor if you love those who love you, what rewardⓘ do you have? Do not the tax collectors (mokhesin)ⓘ do the same?

Greekκαὶ ἐὰν ἀσπάσησθε τοὺς ⸀ἀδελφοὺς ὑμῶν μόνον, τί περισσὸν ποιεῖτε; οὐχὶ καὶ οἱ ⸀ἐθνικοὶ ⸂τὸ αὐτὸ⸃ ποιοῦσιν;
Orthodox ReadingAnd if you greet only your brothers, what extraordinary thing do you do? Do not the pagans (goyim)ⓘ do the same too?

GreekἜσεσθε οὖν ὑμεῖς τέλειοι ⸀ὡς ὁ πατὴρ ὑμῶν ὁ ⸀οὐράνιος τέλειός ἐστιν.
