Greekλέγει οὖν αὐτῷ ἡ γυνὴ ἡ Σαμαρῖτις· Πῶς σὺ Ἰουδαῖος ὢν παρ’ ἐμοῦ πεῖν αἰτεῖς ⸂γυναικὸς Σαμαρίτιδος οὔσης⸃; οὐ γὰρ συγχρῶνται Ἰουδαῖοι Σαμαρίταις.
Orthodox ReadingThe shomronit woman says to him therefore: «How is it that you, being a Jew (Yehudi) by ethno-religious belonging, ask a drink of me, being a Samaritan woman (shomronit)ⓘ?». For the Jews (yehudim) have no dealings of common use with the Samaritansⓘ.

Greekἀπεκρίθη Ἰησοῦς καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῇ· Εἰ ᾔδεις τὴν δωρεὰν τοῦ θεοῦ καὶ τίς ἐστιν ὁ λέγων σοι· Δός μοι πεῖν, σὺ ἂν ᾔτησας αὐτὸν καὶ ἔδωκεν ἄν σοι ὕδωρ ζῶν.

Greekλέγει αὐτῇ ὁ Ἰησοῦς· ⸂Πίστευέ μοι, γύναι⸃, ὅτι ἔρχεται ὥρα ὅτε οὔτε ἐν τῷ ὄρει τούτῳ οὔτε ἐν Ἱεροσολύμοις προσκυνήσετε τῷ πατρί.

Orthodox Readingand they said to the woman: «No longer because of your speaking do we believe, for we ourselves have heard and know that this man is truly the Savior of the worldⓘ».
