GreekΚαὶ ⸂μετὰ ταῦτα περιεπάτει ὁ Ἰησοῦς⸃ ἐν τῇ Γαλιλαίᾳ, οὐ γὰρ ἤθελεν ἐν τῇ Ἰουδαίᾳ περιπατεῖν, ὅτι ἐζήτουν αὐτὸν οἱ Ἰουδαῖοι ἀποκτεῖναι.
Orthodox ReadingAfter these events, Jesus went aboutⓘ in Galilee; for he did not wish to travel through Judea, because the Judean authoritiesⓘ were seeking to kill him.

Greekεἶπον οὖν πρὸς αὐτὸν οἱ ἀδελφοὶ αὐτοῦ· Μετάβηθι ἐντεῦθεν καὶ ὕπαγε εἰς τὴν Ἰουδαίαν, ἵνα καὶ οἱ μαθηταί σου ⸀θεωρήσουσιν ⸂σοῦ τὰ ἔργα⸃ ἃ ποιεῖς·
Orthodox ReadingHis brothersⓘ therefore said to him: «Depart from here and go into Judea, so that your disciples (talmidim)ⓘ too may see the worksⓘ that you do.

Greekοὐδεὶς γάρ ⸂τι ἐν κρυπτῷ⸃ ποιεῖ καὶ ζητεῖ αὐτὸς ἐν παρρησίᾳ εἶναι· εἰ ταῦτα ποιεῖς, φανέρωσον σεαυτὸν τῷ κόσμῳ.
Orthodox ReadingFor no one acts in secretⓘ if he seeks to be in the openⓘ. If you do these things, manifest yourself to the worldⓘ».

Greekοὐδὲ γὰρ οἱ ἀδελφοὶ αὐτοῦ ἐπίστευον εἰς αὐτόν.

Greekλέγει οὖν αὐτοῖς ὁ Ἰησοῦς· Ὁ καιρὸς ὁ ἐμὸς οὔπω πάρεστιν, ὁ δὲ καιρὸς ὁ ὑμέτερος πάντοτέ ἐστιν ἕτοιμος.
Orthodox ReadingJesus therefore said to them: «My kairós is not yet presentⓘ, but your time is always ready.

Greekοὐ δύναται ὁ κόσμος μισεῖν ὑμᾶς, ἐμὲ δὲ μισεῖ, ὅτι ἐγὼ μαρτυρῶ περὶ αὐτοῦ ὅτι τὰ ἔργα αὐτοῦ πονηρά ἐστιν.
Orthodox ReadingThe kósmosⓘ cannot hate you, but me it hates, because I bear witnessⓘ concerning it that its works are evil, fruit of the yetzer ha-ra (the inclination toward evil)ⓘ.

Greekὑμεῖς ἀνάβητε εἰς τὴν ⸀ἑορτήν· ἐγὼ ⸀οὐκ ἀναβαίνω εἰς τὴν ἑορτὴν ταύτην, ὅτι ὁ ⸂ἐμὸς καιρὸς⸃ οὔπω πεπλήρωται.

Greekταῦτα ⸀δὲ εἰπὼν ⸀αὐτὸς ἔμεινεν ἐν τῇ Γαλιλαίᾳ.

GreekὩς δὲ ἀνέβησαν οἱ ἀδελφοὶ αὐτοῦ ⸂εἰς τὴν ἑορτήν, τότε καὶ αὐτὸς ἀνέβη⸃, οὐ φανερῶς ἀλλὰ ὡς ἐν κρυπτῷ.
Orthodox ReadingBut when his brothers had gone up to the feast, then he too went up, not in a manifest manner, but as in secretⓘ.

Greekοἱ οὖν Ἰουδαῖοι ἐζήτουν αὐτὸν ἐν τῇ ἑορτῇ καὶ ἔλεγον· Ποῦ ἐστιν ἐκεῖνος;
Orthodox ReadingThe Judean authoritiesⓘ therefore were seeking him at the feast and saying: «Where is that fellowⓘ?».

Greekκαὶ γογγυσμὸς ⸂περὶ αὐτοῦ ἦν πολὺς⸃ ἐν τοῖς ὄχλοις· οἱ μὲν ἔλεγον ὅτι Ἀγαθός ἐστιν, ἄλλοι ⸀δὲ ἔλεγον· Οὔ, ἀλλὰ πλανᾷ τὸν ὄχλον.
Orthodox ReadingAnd there was much murmuringⓘ about him among the crowds of am ha-aretzⓘ; some said: «He is goodⓘ»; others, however, said: «No, but he deceives the common folk — the am ha-aretzⓘ».

Greekοὐδεὶς μέντοι παρρησίᾳ ἐλάλει περὶ αὐτοῦ διὰ τὸν φόβον τῶν Ἰουδαίων.
