GreekΚαὶ ⸂μετὰ ταῦτα περιεπάτει ὁ Ἰησοῦς⸃ ἐν τῇ Γαλιλαίᾳ, οὐ γὰρ ἤθελεν ἐν τῇ Ἰουδαίᾳ περιπατεῖν, ὅτι ἐζήτουν αὐτὸν οἱ Ἰουδαῖοι ἀποκτεῖναι.
Gnostic TranslationDopo questi fatti, Gesù se ne andava per la Galilea; infatti non voleva più percorrere la Giudea, perché i Giudei cercavano di ucciderlo.
Orthodox ReadingAfter these events, Jesus went aboutⓘ in Galilee; for he did not wish to travel through Judea, because the Judean authoritiesⓘ were seeking to kill him.

Greekεἶπον οὖν πρὸς αὐτὸν οἱ ἀδελφοὶ αὐτοῦ· Μετάβηθι ἐντεῦθεν καὶ ὕπαγε εἰς τὴν Ἰουδαίαν, ἵνα καὶ οἱ μαθηταί σου ⸀θεωρήσουσιν ⸂σοῦ τὰ ἔργα⸃ ἃ ποιεῖς·
Gnostic TranslationI suoi fratelli gli dissero: «Parti di qui e va' nella Giudea, perché anche i tuoi discepoli vedano le opere che tu compi.
Orthodox ReadingHis brothersⓘ therefore said to him: «Depart from here and go into Judea, so that your disciples (talmidim)ⓘ too may see the worksⓘ that you do.

Greekοὐδεὶς γάρ ⸂τι ἐν κρυπτῷ⸃ ποιεῖ καὶ ζητεῖ αὐτὸς ἐν παρρησίᾳ εἶναι· εἰ ταῦτα ποιεῖς, φανέρωσον σεαυτὸν τῷ κόσμῳ.
Gnostic TranslationNessuno infatti agisce di nascosto, se vuole venire riconosciuto pubblicamente. Se fai tali cose, manifèstati al mondo!».
Orthodox ReadingFor no one acts in secretⓘ if he seeks to be in the openⓘ. If you do these things, manifest yourself to the worldⓘ».

Gnostic TranslationGesù allora disse loro: «Il mio tempo non è ancora venuto; il vostro tempo è invece sempre pronto.

Greekοὐ δύναται ὁ κόσμος μισεῖν ὑμᾶς, ἐμὲ δὲ μισεῖ, ὅτι ἐγὼ μαρτυρῶ περὶ αὐτοῦ ὅτι τὰ ἔργα αὐτοῦ πονηρά ἐστιν.
Gnostic TranslationIl mondo non può odiare voi, ma odia me, perché di esso io attesto che le sue opere sono malvagie.

Gnostic TranslationSalite voi alla festa; io non salgo a questa festa, perché il mio tempo non è ancora compiuto».

GreekὩς δὲ ἀνέβησαν οἱ ἀδελφοὶ αὐτοῦ ⸂εἰς τὴν ἑορτήν, τότε καὶ αὐτὸς ἀνέβη⸃, οὐ φανερῶς ἀλλὰ ὡς ἐν κρυπτῷ.
Gnostic TranslationQuando i suoi fratelli salirono alla festa, allora vi salì anche lui, non in modo manifesto, ma quasi di nascosto.
Orthodox ReadingBut when his brothers had gone up to the feast, then he too went up, not in a manifest manner, but as in secretⓘ.

Gnostic TranslationI Giudei intanto lo cercavano durante la festa e dicevano: «Dov'è quel tale?».

Greekκαὶ γογγυσμὸς ⸂περὶ αὐτοῦ ἦν πολὺς⸃ ἐν τοῖς ὄχλοις· οἱ μὲν ἔλεγον ὅτι Ἀγαθός ἐστιν, ἄλλοι ⸀δὲ ἔλεγον· Οὔ, ἀλλὰ πλανᾷ τὸν ὄχλον.
Gnostic TranslationE c'era nella folla un gran mormorio riguardo a lui. Alcuni infatti dicevano: «È buono!». Altri invece dicevano: «No, inganna la gente!».
Orthodox ReadingAnd there was much murmuringⓘ about him among the crowds of am ha-aretzⓘ; some said: «He is goodⓘ»; others, however, said: «No, but he deceives the common folk — the am ha-aretzⓘ».
