Καὶ ⸂μετὰ ταῦτα περιεπάτει ὁ Ἰησοῦς⸃ ἐν τῇ Γαλιλαίᾳ, οὐ γὰρ ἤθελεν ἐν τῇ Ἰουδαίᾳ περιπατεῖν, ὅτι ἐζήτουν αὐτὸν οἱ Ἰουδαῖοι ἀποκτεῖναι.
Dopo questi fatti, Gesù se ne andava per la Galilea; infatti non voleva più percorrere la Giudea, perché i Giudei cercavano di ucciderlo.
After these events, Jesus went aboutⓘ in Galilee; for he did not wish to travel through Judea, because the Judean authoritiesⓘ were seeking to kill him.

ἦν δὲ ἐγγὺς ἡ ἑορτὴ τῶν Ἰουδαίων ἡ σκηνοπηγία.
Si avvicinava intanto la festa dei Giudei, quella delle Capanne.
The feast of the Jews, Sukkotⓘ was near.

εἶπον οὖν πρὸς αὐτὸν οἱ ἀδελφοὶ αὐτοῦ· Μετάβηθι ἐντεῦθεν καὶ ὕπαγε εἰς τὴν Ἰουδαίαν, ἵνα καὶ οἱ μαθηταί σου ⸀θεωρήσουσιν ⸂σοῦ τὰ ἔργα⸃ ἃ ποιεῖς·
I suoi fratelli gli dissero: «Parti di qui e va' nella Giudea, perché anche i tuoi discepoli vedano le opere che tu compi.
His brothersⓘ therefore said to him: «Depart from here and go into Judea, so that your disciples (talmidim)ⓘ too may see the worksⓘ that you do.

οὐδεὶς γάρ ⸂τι ἐν κρυπτῷ⸃ ποιεῖ καὶ ζητεῖ αὐτὸς ἐν παρρησίᾳ εἶναι· εἰ ταῦτα ποιεῖς, φανέρωσον σεαυτὸν τῷ κόσμῳ.
Nessuno infatti agisce di nascosto, se vuole venire riconosciuto pubblicamente. Se fai tali cose, manifèstati al mondo!».
For no one acts in secretⓘ if he seeks to be in the openⓘ. If you do these things, manifest yourself to the worldⓘ».

οὐδὲ γὰρ οἱ ἀδελφοὶ αὐτοῦ ἐπίστευον εἰς αὐτόν.
Neppure i suoi fratelli infatti credevano in lui.
For not even his brothers believed in himⓘ.

λέγει οὖν αὐτοῖς ὁ Ἰησοῦς· Ὁ καιρὸς ὁ ἐμὸς οὔπω πάρεστιν, ὁ δὲ καιρὸς ὁ ὑμέτερος πάντοτέ ἐστιν ἕτοιμος.
Gesù allora disse loro: «Il mio tempo non è ancora venuto; il vostro tempo è invece sempre pronto.
Jesus therefore said to them: «My kairós is not yet presentⓘ, but your time is always ready.

οὐ δύναται ὁ κόσμος μισεῖν ὑμᾶς, ἐμὲ δὲ μισεῖ, ὅτι ἐγὼ μαρτυρῶ περὶ αὐτοῦ ὅτι τὰ ἔργα αὐτοῦ πονηρά ἐστιν.
Il mondo non può odiare voi, ma odia me, perché di esso io attesto che le sue opere sono malvagie.
The kósmosⓘ cannot hate you, but me it hates, because I bear witnessⓘ concerning it that its works are evil, fruit of the yetzer ha-ra (the inclination toward evil)ⓘ.

ὑμεῖς ἀνάβητε εἰς τὴν ⸀ἑορτήν· ἐγὼ ⸀οὐκ ἀναβαίνω εἰς τὴν ἑορτὴν ταύτην, ὅτι ὁ ⸂ἐμὸς καιρὸς⸃ οὔπω πεπλήρωται.
Salite voi alla festa; io non salgo a questa festa, perché il mio tempo non è ancora compiuto».
You go up to the feast; I am not going upⓘ to this feast, because my kairós is not yet fulfilledⓘ».

ταῦτα ⸀δὲ εἰπὼν ⸀αὐτὸς ἔμεινεν ἐν τῇ Γαλιλαίᾳ.
Disse questo e rimase in Galilea.
Having said these things, he remained in Galilee.

Ὡς δὲ ἀνέβησαν οἱ ἀδελφοὶ αὐτοῦ ⸂εἰς τὴν ἑορτήν, τότε καὶ αὐτὸς ἀνέβη⸃, οὐ φανερῶς ἀλλὰ ὡς ἐν κρυπτῷ.
Quando i suoi fratelli salirono alla festa, allora vi salì anche lui, non in modo manifesto, ma quasi di nascosto.
But when his brothers had gone up to the feast, then he too went up, not in a manifest manner, but as in secretⓘ.

οἱ οὖν Ἰουδαῖοι ἐζήτουν αὐτὸν ἐν τῇ ἑορτῇ καὶ ἔλεγον· Ποῦ ἐστιν ἐκεῖνος;
I Giudei intanto lo cercavano durante la festa e dicevano: «Dov'è quel tale?».
The Judean authoritiesⓘ therefore were seeking him at the feast and saying: «Where is that fellowⓘ?».

καὶ γογγυσμὸς ⸂περὶ αὐτοῦ ἦν πολὺς⸃ ἐν τοῖς ὄχλοις· οἱ μὲν ἔλεγον ὅτι Ἀγαθός ἐστιν, ἄλλοι ⸀δὲ ἔλεγον· Οὔ, ἀλλὰ πλανᾷ τὸν ὄχλον.
E c'era nella folla un gran mormorio riguardo a lui. Alcuni infatti dicevano: «È buono!». Altri invece dicevano: «No, inganna la gente!».
And there was much murmuringⓘ about him among the crowds of am ha-aretzⓘ; some said: «He is goodⓘ»; others, however, said: «No, but he deceives the common folk — the am ha-aretzⓘ».

οὐδεὶς μέντοι παρρησίᾳ ἐλάλει περὶ αὐτοῦ διὰ τὸν φόβον τῶν Ἰουδαίων.
Nessuno però parlava di lui apertamente, per paura dei Giudei.
Yet no one spoke openlyⓘ about him, for fear of the Judean authoritiesⓘ.
