Ἀκουόντων δὲ αὐτῶν ταῦτα προσθεὶς εἶπεν παραβολὴν διὰ τὸ ἐγγὺς ⸂εἶναι Ἰερουσαλὴμ αὐτὸν⸃ καὶ δοκεῖν αὐτοὺς ὅτι παραχρῆμα μέλλει ἡ βασιλεία τοῦ θεοῦ ἀναφαίνεσθαι·
Mentre essi ascoltavano queste cose, disse ancora una parabola, perché era vicino a Gerusalemme ed essi pensavano che il regno di Dio dovesse manifestarsi da un momento all'altro.
While they were listening to these things, he added a parable, because he was now near Jerusalem and they believed that the kingdom of God was to appear immediatelyⓘ.

εἶπεν οὖν· Ἄνθρωπός τις εὐγενὴς ἐπορεύθη εἰς χώραν μακρὰν λαβεῖν ἑαυτῷ βασιλείαν καὶ ὑποστρέψαι.
Disse dunque: «Un uomo di nobile famiglia partì per un paese lontano, per ricevere il titolo di re e poi ritornare.
He said therefore: «A man of noble birthⓘ set out for a distant country to receive the royal titleⓘ and then return.

καλέσας δὲ δέκα δούλους ἑαυτοῦ ἔδωκεν αὐτοῖς δέκα μνᾶς καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτούς· ⸀Πραγματεύσασθε ⸂ἐν ᾧ⸃ ἔρχομαι.
Chiamati dieci dei suoi servi, consegnò loro dieci mine, dicendo: Fatele fruttare fino al mio ritorno.
Having called ten of his servantsⓘ, he handed them ten minasⓘ and said to them: «Trade with theseⓘ until I return».

οἱ δὲ πολῖται αὐτοῦ ἐμίσουν αὐτόν, καὶ ἀπέστειλαν πρεσβείαν ὀπίσω αὐτοῦ λέγοντες· Οὐ θέλομεν τοῦτον βασιλεῦσαι ἐφ’ ἡμᾶς.
Ma i suoi cittadini lo odiavano e mandarono dietro a lui una delegazione a dire: Non vogliamo che costui venga a regnare su di noi.
But his fellow citizens hated himⓘ and sent an embassy after him to say: «We do not want this man to reign over usⓘ».

καὶ ἐγένετο ἐν τῷ ἐπανελθεῖν αὐτὸν λαβόντα τὴν βασιλείαν καὶ εἶπεν φωνηθῆναι αὐτῷ τοὺς δούλους τούτους οἷς ⸀δεδώκει τὸ ἀργύριον, ἵνα ⸀γνοῖ τί ⸀διεπραγματεύσαντο.
Dopo aver ricevuto il titolo di re, egli ritornò e fece chiamare quei servi a cui aveva consegnato il denaro, per sapere quanto ciascuno avesse guadagnato.
When he returned, having received the royal title, he had those servants called to whom he had handed the money, in order to know how much each had gained by trading.

παρεγένετο δὲ ὁ πρῶτος λέγων· Κύριε, ἡ μνᾶ σου ⸂δέκα προσηργάσατο⸃ μνᾶς.
Si presentò il primo e disse: Signore, la tua mina ne ha fruttate dieci.
The first presented himself saying: «Lord, your mina has gained ten moreⓘ».

καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ· ⸀Εὖγε, ἀγαθὲ δοῦλε, ὅτι ἐν ἐλαχίστῳ πιστὸς ἐγένου, ἴσθι ἐξουσίαν ἔχων ἐπάνω δέκα πόλεων.
Gli disse: Bene, servo buono! Sei stato fedele nel poco, ricevi il potere sopra dieci città.
He said to him: «Well done, good servantⓘ, since you have been faithful in a very small matter, have authority over ten citiesⓘ».

καὶ ἦλθεν ὁ δεύτερος λέγων· ⸂Ἡ μνᾶ σου, κύριε⸃, ἐποίησεν πέντε μνᾶς.
Poi si presentò il secondo e disse: Signore, la tua mina ne ha fatte cinque.
The second came saying: «Lord, your mina has made five».

εἶπεν δὲ καὶ τούτῳ· Καὶ σὺ ⸂ἐπάνω γίνου⸃ πέντε πόλεων.
Anche a questo disse: Tu pure sarai a capo di cinque città.
To this one too he said: «You also be over five cities».

καὶ ⸀ὁ ἕτερος ἦλθεν λέγων· Κύριε, ἰδοὺ ἡ μνᾶ σου ἣν εἶχον ἀποκειμένην ἐν σουδαρίῳ·
Venne poi anche un altro e disse: Signore, ecco la tua mina, che ho tenuto nascosta in un fazzoletto;
And the other came saying: «Lord, here is your mina, which I have kept laid away in a clothⓘ;

ἐφοβούμην γάρ σε ὅτι ἄνθρωπος αὐστηρὸς εἶ, αἴρεις ὃ οὐκ ἔθηκας καὶ θερίζεις ὃ οὐκ ἔσπειρας.
avevo paura di te, che sei un uomo severo: prendi quello che non hai messo in deposito e mieti quello che non hai seminato.
because I was afraid of you, because you are a severe manⓘ: you take what you did not deposit and reap where you did not sow».

⸀λέγει αὐτῷ· Ἐκ τοῦ στόματός σου κρίνω σε, πονηρὲ δοῦλε· ᾔδεις ὅτι ἐγὼ ἄνθρωπος αὐστηρός εἰμι, αἴρων ὃ οὐκ ἔθηκα καὶ θερίζων ὃ οὐκ ἔσπειρα;
Gli rispose: Dalle tue stesse parole ti giudico, servo malvagio! Sapevi che sono un uomo severo, che prendo quello che non ho messo in deposito e mieto quello che non ho seminato:
He said to him: «From your own mouth I judge youⓘ, wicked servant! You knew that I am a severe man, who take what I did not deposit and reap where I did not sow?

καὶ διὰ τί οὐκ ἔδωκάς ⸂μου τὸ ἀργύριον⸃ ἐπὶ τράπεζαν; κἀγὼ ἐλθὼν σὺν τόκῳ ἂν ⸂αὐτὸ ἔπραξα⸃.
perché allora non hai consegnato il mio denaro a una banca? Al mio ritorno l'avrei riscosso con gli interessi.
And why did you not hand over my money to the bankⓘ? I, on my return, would have collected it with interest».

καὶ τοῖς παρεστῶσιν εἶπεν· Ἄρατε ἀπ’ αὐτοῦ τὴν μνᾶν καὶ δότε τῷ τὰς δέκα μνᾶς ἔχοντι—
Disse poi ai presenti: Toglietegli la mina e datela a colui che ne ha dieci.
And he said to those standing before him: «Take the mina from him and give it to the one who already has ten».

καὶ εἶπαν αὐτῷ· Κύριε, ἔχει δέκα μνᾶς—
Gli risposero: Signore, ne ha già dieci!
They answered him: «But, Lord, he already has ten!».
26
⸀λέγω ὑμῖν ὅτι παντὶ τῷ ἔχοντι δοθήσεται, ἀπὸ δὲ τοῦ μὴ ἔχοντος καὶ ὃ ἔχει ⸀ἀρθήσεται.
Vi dico: A chi ha, sarà dato; ma a chi non ha, sarà tolto anche quello che ha.
«I tell you: to everyone who has, more will be given, and from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken awayⓘ.

πλὴν τοὺς ἐχθρούς μου ⸀τούτους τοὺς μὴ θελήσαντάς με βασιλεῦσαι ἐπ’ αὐτοὺς ἀγάγετε ὧδε καὶ κατασφάξατε ⸀αὐτοὺς ἔμπροσθέν μου.
E quei miei nemici, che non volevano che io diventassi loro re, conduceteli qui e uccideteli davanti a me».
As for those enemies of mine who did not want me to reign over them, bring them here and slaughter them before meⓘ».
