Orthodox ReadingIt happened that, while the crowd of am ha-aretz (the Galilean commoners, ordinary people not bound by the scruples of the haverim) am ha-aretzⓘ pressed around him and listened to the word of Godⓘ, he was standing by the lake of Gennesaretⓘ,

Greekκαὶ εἶδεν ⸂δύο πλοῖα⸃ ἑστῶτα παρὰ τὴν λίμνην, οἱ δὲ ἁλιεῖς ⸂ἀπ’ αὐτῶν ἀποβάντες⸃ ⸀ἔπλυνον τὰ δίκτυα.

Orthodox Readingand he saw two boats moored at the lake; the fishermen, having stepped down from them, were washing the nets.

Greekἐμβὰς δὲ εἰς ἓν τῶν πλοίων, ὃ ⸀ἦν Σίμωνος, ἠρώτησεν αὐτὸν ἀπὸ τῆς γῆς ἐπαναγαγεῖν ὀλίγον, ⸂καθίσας δὲ ἐκ τοῦ πλοίου ἐδίδασκεν⸃ τοὺς ὄχλους.

Greekὁμοίως δὲ καὶ Ἰάκωβον καὶ Ἰωάννην υἱοὺς Ζεβεδαίου, οἳ ἦσαν κοινωνοὶ τῷ Σίμωνι. καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς τὸν Σίμωνα ⸀ὁ Ἰησοῦς· Μὴ φοβοῦ· ἀπὸ τοῦ νῦν ἀνθρώπους ἔσῃ ζωγρῶν.

Orthodox Readingand likewise also James and John, sons of Zebedee, who were partnersⓘ of Simon. And Jesus said to Simon: «Do not fearⓘ: from now on you will be one who takes men aliveⓘ».
