⸂Ἀκούσας δὲ⸃ ὁ Ἰησοῦς ἀνεχώρησεν ἐκεῖθεν ἐν πλοίῳ εἰς ἔρημον τόπον κατ’ ἰδίαν· καὶ ἀκούσαντες οἱ ὄχλοι ἠκολούθησαν αὐτῷ πεζῇ ἀπὸ τῶν πόλεων.
Udito ciò, Gesù partì di là su una barca e si ritirò in un luogo deserto, in disparte. Ma le folle, avendolo saputo, lo seguirono a piedi dalle città.
When Jesus heard this, he withdrew from there in a boat and retired to a deserted placeⓘ, apart. But the crowdsⓘ, having learned of it, followed him on foot from the towns.

καὶ ⸀ἐξελθὼν εἶδεν πολὺν ὄχλον, καὶ ἐσπλαγχνίσθη ἐπ’ αὐτοῖς καὶ ἐθεράπευσεν τοὺς ἀρρώστους αὐτῶν.
Sceso dalla barca, egli vide una grande folla, ne ebbe compassione e guarì i loro malati.
Getting out of the boat, he saw a great crowd of am ha-aretz (the common people of the land, not the ḥaverim who observe the rules of purity); he had compassionⓘ on them and healedⓘ their sick.

ὀψίας δὲ γενομένης προσῆλθον αὐτῷ οἱ ⸀μαθηταὶ λέγοντες· Ἔρημός ἐστιν ὁ τόπος καὶ ἡ ὥρα ἤδη παρῆλθεν· ἀπόλυσον τοὺς ὄχλους, ἵνα ἀπελθόντες εἰς τὰς κώμας ἀγοράσωσιν ἑαυτοῖς βρώματα.
Sul far della sera, i discepoli gli si avvicinarono e gli dissero: «Il luogo è deserto ed è ormai tardi; congeda la folla perché vada nei villaggi a comprarsi da mangiare».
As evening drew on, the disciplesⓘ came up to him and said: «The place is deserted and the hour is now late; dismissⓘ the crowd so that they may go into the villages and buy themselves food».

ὁ δὲ Ἰησοῦς εἶπεν αὐτοῖς· Οὐ χρείαν ἔχουσιν ἀπελθεῖν· δότε αὐτοῖς ὑμεῖς φαγεῖν.
Ma Gesù disse loro: «Non occorre che vadano; voi stessi date loro da mangiare».
But Jesus said to them: «They need not go; you yourselves give them something to eat».

οἱ δὲ λέγουσιν αὐτῷ· Οὐκ ἔχομεν ὧδε εἰ μὴ πέντε ἄρτους καὶ δύο ἰχθύας.
Gli risposero: «Qui non abbiamo altro che cinque pani e due pesci».
They answered him: «Here we have nothing but five loaves and two fishⓘ».

ὁ δὲ εἶπεν· Φέρετέ μοι ⸂ὧδε αὐτούς⸃.
Ed egli disse: «Portàteli qui a me».
And he said: «Bring them here to me».

καὶ κελεύσας τοὺς ὄχλους ἀνακλιθῆναι ἐπὶ ⸂τοῦ χόρτου⸃, λαβὼν τοὺς πέντε ἄρτους καὶ τοὺς δύο ἰχθύας, ἀναβλέψας εἰς τὸν οὐρανὸν εὐλόγησεν καὶ κλάσας ἔδωκεν τοῖς μαθηταῖς τοὺς ἄρτους οἱ δὲ μαθηταὶ τοῖς ὄχλοις.
E, dopo aver ordinato alla folla di sedersi sull'erba, prese i cinque pani e i due pesci, alzò gli occhi al cielo, recitò la benedizione, spezzò i pani e li diede ai discepoli, e i discepoli alla folla.
And, after ordering the crowd to reclineⓘ on the grass, he took the five loaves and the two fishⓘ, raised his eyes to heaven, recited the berakhahⓘ, brokeⓘ the loaves and gave them to the disciplesⓘ, and the disciples to the crowd.

καὶ ἔφαγον πάντες καὶ ἐχορτάσθησαν, καὶ ἦραν τὸ περισσεῦον τῶν κλασμάτων δώδεκα κοφίνους πλήρεις.
Tutti mangiarono a sazietà, e portarono via i pezzi avanzati: dodici ceste piene.
All ate to satietyⓘ, and they carried away the leftover pieces: twelve baskets fullⓘ.

οἱ δὲ ἐσθίοντες ἦσαν ἄνδρες ὡσεὶ πεντακισχίλιοι χωρὶς γυναικῶν καὶ παιδίων.
Quelli che avevano mangiato erano circa cinquemila uomini, senza contare le donne e i bambini.
Those who had eaten were about five thousand menⓘ, not counting the women and childrenⓘ.
