Καὶ ⸀ἐλθόντων πρὸς τὸν ὄχλον προσῆλθεν αὐτῷ ἄνθρωπος γονυπετῶν αὐτὸν
Quando furono giunti presso la folla, si avvicinò a lui un uomo che gli si gettò in ginocchio
Having come to the crowdⓘ, a man threw himself on his kneesⓘ before him:

καὶ λέγων· Κύριε, ἐλέησόν μου τὸν υἱόν, ὅτι σεληνιάζεται καὶ κακῶς ⸀πάσχει, πολλάκις γὰρ πίπτει εἰς τὸ πῦρ καὶ πολλάκις εἰς τὸ ὕδωρ.
e disse: «Signore, abbi pietà di mio figlio! È epilettico e soffre molto: cade spesso nel fuoco e spesso nell'acqua.
«Lordⓘ, have mercy on my son: he is epilepticⓘ and suffers grievouslyⓘ; he often falls into the fire and into the water.

καὶ προσήνεγκα αὐτὸν τοῖς μαθηταῖς σου, καὶ οὐκ ἠδυνήθησαν αὐτὸν θεραπεῦσαι.
L'ho portato dai tuoi discepoli, ma non sono riusciti a guarirlo».
I broughtⓘ him to your disciplesⓘ, but they were not able to heal him».

ἀποκριθεὶς δὲ ὁ Ἰησοῦς εἶπεν· Ὦ γενεὰ ἄπιστος καὶ διεστραμμένη, ἕως πότε ⸂μεθ’ ὑμῶν ἔσομαι⸃; ἕως πότε ἀνέξομαι ὑμῶν; φέρετέ μοι αὐτὸν ὧδε.
E Gesù rispose: «O generazione incredula e perversa! Fino a quando sarò con voi? Fino a quando dovrò sopportarvi? Portatelo qui da me».
Jesus answeredⓘ: «O unbelieving and perverse generationⓘ, how long shall I bear with youⓘ? Bring him here».

καὶ ἐπετίμησεν αὐτῷ ὁ Ἰησοῦς, καὶ ἐξῆλθεν ἀπ’ αὐτοῦ τὸ δαιμόνιον· καὶ ἐθεραπεύθη ὁ παῖς ἀπὸ τῆς ὥρας ἐκείνης.
Gesù lo minacciò e il demonio uscì da lui, e da quel momento il ragazzo fu guarito.
Jesus rebukedⓘ him, the demonⓘ came out, and the boy was healed from that hourⓘ.

Τότε προσελθόντες οἱ μαθηταὶ τῷ Ἰησοῦ κατ’ ἰδίαν εἶπον· Διὰ τί ἡμεῖς οὐκ ἠδυνήθημεν ἐκβαλεῖν αὐτό;
Allora i discepoli, accostatisi a Gesù in disparte, gli chiesero: «Perché noi non siamo riusciti a scacciarlo?».
The disciplesⓘ, privatelyⓘ: «Why were we not able to cast it out?».

ὁ δὲ ⸀λέγει αὐτοῖς· Διὰ τὴν ⸀ὀλιγοπιστίαν ὑμῶν· ἀμὴν γὰρ λέγω ὑμῖν, ἐὰν ἔχητε πίστιν ὡς κόκκον σινάπεως, ἐρεῖτε τῷ ὄρει τούτῳ· ⸂Μετάβα ἔνθεν⸃ ἐκεῖ, καὶ μεταβήσεται, καὶ οὐδὲν ἀδυνατήσει ⸀ὑμῖν.
Ed egli rispose loro: «Per la vostra poca fede. In verità io vi dico: se avrete fede pari a un granello di senape, direte a questo monte: Spòstati da qui a là, ed esso si sposterà, e nulla vi sarà impossibile».
«Because of your little faithⓘ: Amen I say to youⓘ, if you had faith like a grain of mustardⓘ, you would say to this mountain: Move from hereⓘ, and it would move; nothing would be impossible for youⓘ».
