Ὁμοία γάρ ἐστιν ἡ βασιλεία τῶν οὐρανῶν ἀνθρώπῳ οἰκοδεσπότῃ ὅστις ἐξῆλθεν ἅμα πρωῒ μισθώσασθαι ἐργάτας εἰς τὸν ἀμπελῶνα αὐτοῦ.
Il regno dei cieli è simile a un padrone di casa che uscì all'alba per prendere a giornata lavoratori per la sua vigna.
The Kingdom of Heaven is like a householderⓘ who went out at dawnⓘ to hire day-laborers for his vineyardⓘ.

⸂συμφωνήσας δὲ⸃ μετὰ τῶν ἐργατῶν ἐκ δηναρίου τὴν ἡμέραν ἀπέστειλεν αὐτοὺς εἰς τὸν ἀμπελῶνα αὐτοῦ.
Si accordò con loro per un denaro al giorno e li mandò nella sua vigna.
He agreedⓘ with the laborers on a denarius a dayⓘ and sent them into the vineyard.

καὶ ἐξελθὼν περὶ τρίτην ὥραν εἶδεν ἄλλους ἑστῶτας ἐν τῇ ἀγορᾷ ἀργούς·
Uscito poi verso le nove del mattino, ne vide altri che stavano in piazza, disoccupati,
Going out about the third hourⓘ, he saw others standing in the marketplaceⓘ idleⓘ,

καὶ ἐκείνοις εἶπεν· Ὑπάγετε καὶ ὑμεῖς εἰς τὸν ἀμπελῶνα, καὶ ὃ ἐὰν ᾖ δίκαιον δώσω ὑμῖν·
e disse loro: Andate anche voi nella vigna; quello che è giusto ve lo darò.
and said to them: «Go also into the vineyard, and whatever is justⓘ I will give you».

οἱ δὲ ἀπῆλθον. ⸀πάλιν ἐξελθὼν περὶ ἕκτην καὶ ἐνάτην ὥραν ἐποίησεν ὡσαύτως.
Ed essi andarono. Uscì di nuovo verso mezzogiorno e verso le tre, e fece altrettanto.
And they went off into the vineyard. Again he went out about the sixth and ninthⓘ hour, and did the same, hiring other laborers.

περὶ δὲ τὴν ⸀ἑνδεκάτην ἐξελθὼν εὗρεν ἄλλους ⸀ἑστῶτας, καὶ λέγει αὐτοῖς· Τί ὧδε ἑστήκατε ὅλην τὴν ἡμέραν ἀργοί;
Uscito ancora verso le cinque, ne vide altri che se ne stavano lì e disse loro: Perché ve ne state qui tutto il giorno senza far niente?
About the eleventh hourⓘ he went out yet again and found others standing, and said to them: «Why do you stand here all day doing nothing?».

λέγουσιν αὐτῷ· Ὅτι οὐδεὶς ἡμᾶς ἐμισθώσατο. λέγει αὐτοῖς· Ὑπάγετε καὶ ὑμεῖς εἰς τὸν ⸀ἀμπελῶνα.
Gli risposero: Perché nessuno ci ha presi a giornata. Ed egli disse loro: Andate anche voi nella vigna.
They answer him: «Because no one has hired usⓘ». He says to them: «Go also into the vineyard».

ὀψίας δὲ γενομένης λέγει ὁ κύριος τοῦ ἀμπελῶνος τῷ ἐπιτρόπῳ αὐτοῦ· Κάλεσον τοὺς ἐργάτας καὶ ἀπόδος ⸀αὐτοῖς τὸν μισθὸν ἀρξάμενος ἀπὸ τῶν ἐσχάτων ἕως τῶν πρώτων.
Quando fu sera, il padrone della vigna disse al suo fattore: Chiama i lavoratori e da' loro la paga, incominciando dagli ultimi fino ai primi.
When evening came, the lordⓘ of the vineyard says to his stewardⓘ: «Call the laborers and give them their wageⓘ, beginning from the last to the firstⓘ».

⸂καὶ ἐλθόντες⸃ οἱ περὶ τὴν ἑνδεκάτην ὥραν ἔλαβον ἀνὰ δηνάριον.
Venuti quelli delle cinque del pomeriggio, ricevettero ciascuno un denaro.
Those of the eleventh hour came and each received a denarius.

⸂καὶ ἐλθόντες⸃ οἱ πρῶτοι ἐνόμισαν ὅτι ⸀πλεῖον λήμψονται· καὶ ἔλαβον ⸂τὸ ἀνὰ δηνάριον καὶ αὐτοί⸃.
Quando arrivarono i primi, pensarono che avrebbero ricevuto di più. Ma anch'essi ricevettero ciascuno un denaro.
When the first came, they supposedⓘ they would receive more: and they too each received a denarius.

λαβόντες δὲ ἐγόγγυζον κατὰ τοῦ οἰκοδεσπότου
Nel ritirarlo, però, mormoravano contro il padrone
On receiving it, they grumbledⓘ against the householder

⸀λέγοντες· Οὗτοι οἱ ἔσχατοι μίαν ὥραν ἐποίησαν, καὶ ἴσους ⸂αὐτοὺς ἡμῖν⸃ ἐποίησας τοῖς βαστάσασι τὸ βάρος τῆς ἡμέρας καὶ τὸν καύσωνα.
dicendo: Questi ultimi hanno lavorato un'ora soltanto e li hai trattati come noi, che abbiamo sopportato il peso della giornata e il caldo.
saying: «These last worked a single hourⓘ, and you have made them equal to usⓘ who bore the burden of the dayⓘ and the heatⓘ!».

ὁ δὲ ἀποκριθεὶς ⸂ἑνὶ αὐτῶν εἶπεν⸃· Ἑταῖρε, οὐκ ἀδικῶ σε· οὐχὶ δηναρίου συνεφώνησάς μοι;
Ma il padrone, rispondendo a uno di loro, disse: Amico, io non ti faccio torto. Non hai forse concordato con me per un denaro?
But he, answering one of them, said: «Friendⓘ, I do you no wrongⓘ: did you not agree with me on a denarius?

ἆρον τὸ σὸν καὶ ὕπαγε· θέλω δὲ τούτῳ τῷ ἐσχάτῳ δοῦναι ὡς καὶ σοί·
Prendi il tuo e vattene; ma io voglio dare anche a quest'ultimo quanto a te:
Take what is yours and go. I wish to give to this last oneⓘ as to you:

⸀οὐκ ἔξεστίν μοι ⸂ὃ θέλω ποιῆσαι⸃ ἐν τοῖς ἐμοῖς; ⸀ἢ ὁ ὀφθαλμός σου πονηρός ἐστιν ὅτι ἐγὼ ἀγαθός εἰμι;
non posso fare delle mie cose quello che voglio? Oppure tu sei invidioso perché io sono buono?
is it not lawful for meⓘ to do what I wish with what is mineⓘ? Or is your eye evilⓘ because I am goodⓘ?».

οὕτως ἔσονται οἱ ἔσχατοι πρῶτοι καὶ οἱ πρῶτοι ⸀ἔσχατοι.
Così gli ultimi saranno primi e i primi, ultimi».
So the last will be first and the first, lastⓘ».
