שמעו את הדבר הזה אשר דבר יהוה עליכם בני ישראל על כל המשפחה אשר העליתי מארץ מצרים לאמר
Ἀκούσατε τὸν λόγον τοῦτον, ὃν ἐλάλησεν κύριος ἐφ’ ὑμᾶς, οἶκος Ισραηλ, καὶ κατὰ πάσης φυλῆς, ἧς ἀνήγαγον ἐκ γῆς Αἰγύπτου, λέγων
Hear this word that the Tetragrammaton has spoken concerning you, children of Israel, concerning the whole family-clanⓘ that I brought up from the land of Egyptⓘ:

רק אתכם ידעתי מכל משפחות האדמה על כן אפקד עליכם את כל עונתיכם
Πλὴν ὑμᾶς ἔγνων ἐκ πασῶν φυλῶν τῆς γῆς· διὰ τοῦτο ἐκδικήσω ἐφ’ ὑμᾶς πάσας τὰς ἁμαρτίας ὑμῶν.
Only you have I knownⓘ among all the families of the earth: therefore, for this very reason, I will call you to accountⓘ for all your iniquities.

הילכו שנים יחדו בלתי אם נועדו
εἰ πορεύσονται δύο ἐπὶ τὸ αὐτὸ καθόλου ἐὰν μὴ γνωρίσωσιν ἑαυτούς;
Do two walk together unless they have agreed to do so?

הישאג אריה ביער וטרף אין לו היתן כפיר קולו ממענתו בלתי אם לכד
εἰ ἐρεύξεται λέων ἐκ τοῦ δρυμοῦ αὐτοῦ θήραν οὐκ ἔχων; εἰ δώσει σκύμνος φωνὴν αὐτοῦ ἐκ τῆς μάνδρας αὐτοῦ καθόλου ἐὰν μὴ ἁρπάσῃ τι;
Does the lion roarⓘ in the forest when it has no prey to devour? Does the young lionⓘ cry out from its den when it has caught nothing?

התפל צפור על פח הארץ ומוקש אין לה היעלה פח מן האדמה ולכוד לא ילכוד
εἰ πεσεῖται ὄρνεον ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν ἄνευ ἰξευτοῦ; εἰ σχασθήσεται παγὶς ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς ἄνευ τοῦ συλλαβεῖν τι;
Does a bird fall into a trap on the ground when there is no lureⓘ to draw it? Does the trap spring up from the ground when nothing has been caught?

אם יתקע שופר בעיר ועם לא יחרדו אם תהיה רעה בעיר ויהוה לא עשה
εἰ φωνήσει σάλπιγξ ἐν πόλει καὶ λαὸς οὐ πτοηθήσεται; εἰ ἔσται κακία ἐν πόλει ἣν κύριος οὐκ ἐποίησεν;
Is the ritual hornⓘ blown in a city, and the people are not afraid? Does calamityⓘ befall a city, and the Tetragrammaton has not caused it?

כי לא יעשה אדני יהוה דבר כי אם גלה סודו אל עבדיו הנביאים
διότι οὐ μὴ ποιήσῃ κύριος ὁ θεὸς πρᾶγμα, ἐὰν μὴ ἀποκαλύψῃ παιδείαν αὐτοῦ πρὸς τοὺς δούλους αὐτοῦ τοὺς προφήτας.
Surely the Lord Tetragrammaton does nothing without first revealing his secret counselⓘ to his servants the prophets.

אריה שאג מי לא יירא אדני יהוה דבר מי לא ינבא
λέων ἐρεύξεται, καὶ τίς οὐ φοβηθήσεται; κύριος ὁ θεὸς ἐλάλησεν, καὶ τίς οὐ προφητεύσει;
The lion has roared; who will not fear? The Lord Tetragrammaton has spoken; who can but prophesyⓘ?

השמיעו על ארמנות באשדוד ועל ארמנות בארץ מצרים ואמרו האספו על הרי שמרון וראו מהומת רבות בתוכה ועשוקים בקרבה
Ἀπαγγείλατε χώραις ἐν Ἀσσυρίοις καὶ ἐπὶ τὰς χώρας τῆς Αἰγύπτου καὶ εἴπατε Συνάχθητε ἐπὶ τὸ ὄρος Σαμαρείας καὶ ἴδετε θαυμαστὰ πολλὰ ἐν μέσῳ αὐτῆς καὶ τὴν καταδυναστείαν τὴν ἐν αὐτῇ·
Proclaim upon the palacesⓘ of Ashdodⓘ and upon the palaces of the land of Egypt, and say: Assemble on the mountains of Samaria and see the great tumultsⓘ within her and the acts of oppression, the violence in her midst.

ולא ידעו עשות נכחה נאם יהוה האוצרים חמס ושד בארמנותיהם
καὶ οὐκ ἔγνω ἃ ἔσται ἐναντίον αὐτῆς, λέγει κύριος, οἱ θησαυρίζοντες ἀδικίαν καὶ ταλαιπωρίαν ἐν ταῖς χώραις αὐτῶν.
They do not know how to do right, says the Tetragrammaton: they store up violence and plunderⓘ in their palaces.

לכן כה אמר אדני יהוה צר וסביב הארץ והורד ממך עזך ונבזו ארמנותיך
διὰ τοῦτο τάδε λέγει κύριος ὁ θεός Τύρος, κυκλόθεν ἡ γῆ σου ἐρημωθήσεται, καὶ κατάξει ἐκ σοῦ ἰσχύν σου, καὶ διαρπαγήσονται αἱ χῶραί σου.
Therefore thus says the Lord Tetragrammaton: An adversaryⓘ shall surround the land, and from you he shall strip your strength and your power, and your palaces shall be plundered.

כה אמר יהוה כאשר יציל הרעה מפי הארי שתי כרעים או בדל אזן כן ינצלו בני ישראל הישבים בשמרון בפאת מטה ובדמשק ערש
τάδε λέγει κύριος Ὃν τρόπον ὅταν ἐκσπάσῃ ὁ ποιμὴν ἐκ στόματος τοῦ λέοντος δύο σκέλη ἢ λοβὸν ὠτίου, οὕτως ἐκσπασθήσονται οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ οἱ κατοικοῦντες ἐν Σαμαρείᾳ κατέναντι φυλῆς καὶ ἐν Δαμασκῷ ἱερεῖς.
Thus says the Tetragrammaton: As the shepherd snatchesⓘ from the lion's mouth only two legs or a piece of an ear, so shall the sons of Israel be rescued — barely saved — who dwell in Samaria, in the corner of a luxurious couch and on a cushion of Damascusⓘ.

שמעו והעידו בבית יעקב נאם אדני יהוה אלהי הצבאות
ἀκούσατε καὶ ἐπιμαρτύρασθε τῷ οἴκῳ Ιακωβ, λέγει κύριος ὁ θεὸς ὁ παντοκράτωρ,
Hear and testify against the house of Jacob, declares the Lord Tetragrammaton, God of Hostsⓘ:

כי ביום פקדי פשעי ישראל עליו ופקדתי על מזבחות בית אל ונגדעו קרנות המזבח ונפלו לארץ
διότι ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ, ὅταν ἐκδικῶ ἀσεβείας τοῦ Ισραηλ ἐπ’ αὐτόν, καὶ ἐκδικήσω ἐπὶ τὰ θυσιαστήρια Βαιθηλ, καὶ κατασκαφήσεται τὰ κέρατα τοῦ θυσιαστηρίου καὶ πεσοῦνται ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν·
for on the day when I call to accountⓘ Israel's transgressions against him, I will also punish the altars of Bethelⓘ, and the horns of the altarⓘ shall be cut off and fall to the ground.

והכיתי בית החרף על בית הקיץ ואבדו בתי השן וספו בתים רבים נאם יהוה
συγχεῶ καὶ πατάξω τὸν οἶκον τὸν περίπτερον ἐπὶ τὸν οἶκον τὸν θερινόν, καὶ ἀπολοῦνται οἶκοι ἐλεφάντινοι, καὶ προστεθήσονται οἶκοι ἕτεροι πολλοί, λέγει κύριος.
And I will strike the winter house along with the summer house, and the houses of ivoryⓘ shall perish, and many houses shall come to an end, shall be destroyed, declares the Tetragrammaton.
