Greekκαὶ ἤκουσαν ⸂οἱ δύο μαθηταὶ αὐτοῦ⸃ λαλοῦντος καὶ ἠκολούθησαν τῷ Ἰησοῦ.

Orthodox ReadingJesus then turned around and, seeing them following him, says to them: «What are you seeking?». They said to him: «Rabbiⓘ (which, translated, means Teacherⓘ), where are you staying?».

Greekλέγει αὐτοῖς· Ἔρχεσθε καὶ ⸂ὄψεσθε. ἦλθαν οὖν⸃ καὶ εἶδαν ποῦ μένει, καὶ παρ’ αὐτῷ ἔμειναν τὴν ἡμέραν ἐκείνην· ὥρα ἦν ὡς δεκάτη.
Orthodox ReadingHe says to them: «Come and you will see». So they went and saw where he was staying, and that day they remained with him; it was about the tenth hourⓘ.

Orthodox ReadingPhilip finds Nathanael and says to him: «The one of whom Moses wrote in the Torahⓘ and the Prophetsⓘ, we have found him: Jesus, son of Joseph, the one from Nazareth».

Greekἀπεκρίθη Ἰησοῦς καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ· Ὅτι εἶπόν σοι ⸀ὅτι εἶδόν σε ὑποκάτω τῆς συκῆς πιστεύεις; μείζω τούτων ⸀ὄψῃ.
Orthodox ReadingJesus answered and said to him: «Because I told you that I saw you under the fig tree, do you believe? You will see greater things than these».

Greekκαὶ λέγει αὐτῷ· Ἀμὴν ἀμὴν λέγω ⸀ὑμῖν, ὄψεσθε τὸν οὐρανὸν ἀνεῳγότα καὶ τοὺς ἀγγέλους τοῦ θεοῦ ἀναβαίνοντας καὶ καταβαίνοντας ἐπὶ τὸν υἱὸν τοῦ ἀνθρώπου.
Orthodox ReadingAnd he says to him: «Amen, amen, I say to youⓘ: you will see heaven opened and the angels of God ascending and descendingⓘ upon the Son of Manⓘ».
