לכו ונשובה אל יהוה כי הוא טרף וירפאנו יך ויחבשנו
Πορευθῶμεν καὶ ἐπιστρέψωμεν πρὸς κύριον τὸν θεὸν ἡμῶν, ὅτι αὐτὸς ἥρπακεν καὶ ἰάσεται ἡμᾶς, πατάξει καὶ μοτώσει ἡμᾶς·
«Come, let us return ⓘ to the Tetragrammaton, for he has torn ⓘ and he will heal us, he has struck and he will bind us up ⓘ;

יחינו מימים ביום השלישי יקמנו ונחיה לפניו
ὑγιάσει ἡμᾶς μετὰ δύο ἡμέρας, ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ τῇ τρίτῃ ἀναστησόμεθα καὶ ζησόμεθα ἐνώπιον αὐτοῦ·
he will revive us ⓘ after two days, on the third day ⓘ he will raise us up and we will live in his presence.

ונדעה נרדפה לדעת את יהוה כשחר נכון מוצאו ויבוא כגשם לנו כמלקוש יורה ארץ
καὶ γνωσόμεθα διώξομεν τοῦ γνῶναι τὸν κύριον, ὡς ὄρθρον ἕτοιμον εὑρήσομεν αὐτόν, καὶ ἥξει ὡς ὑετὸς ἡμῖν πρόιμος καὶ ὄψιμος τῇ γῇ. –
Let us know, let us press on to know ⓘ the Tetragrammaton: as certain as the dawn ⓘ is his coming, he will come to us like the autumn rain ⓘ, like the spring rain that waters the earth.»

מה אעשה לך אפרים מה אעשה לך יהודה וחסדכם כענן בקר וכטל משכים הלך
τί σοι ποιήσω, Εφραιμ; τί σοι ποιήσω, Ιουδα; τὸ δὲ ἔλεος ὑμῶν ὡς νεφέλη πρωινὴ καὶ ὡς δρόσος ὀρθρινὴ πορευομένη.
What shall I do with you, Ephraim ⓘ? What shall I do with you, Yehudah? Your steadfast love ⓘ is like the morning cloud, like dew ⓘ that soon disappears.

על כן חצבתי בנביאים הרגתים באמרי פי ומשפטיך אור יצא
Διὰ τοῦτο ἀπεθέρισα τοὺς προφήτας ὑμῶν, ἀπέκτεινα αὐτοὺς ἐν ῥήμασιν στόματός μου, καὶ τὸ κρίμα μου ὡς φῶς ἐξελεύσεται.
Therefore I have hewn them ⓘ by the prophets, I have slain them with the words of my mouth, and my judgment goes forth like light ⓘ.

כי חסד חפצתי ולא זבח ודעת אלהים מעלות
διότι ἔλεος θέλω καὶ οὐ θυσίαν καὶ ἐπίγνωσιν θεοῦ ἢ ὁλοκαυτώματα.
For steadfast love ⓘ I desire and not sacrifice, knowledge of God ⓘ more than burnt offerings ⓘ.

והמה כאדם עברו ברית שם בגדו בי
αὐτοὶ δέ εἰσιν ὡς ἄνθρωπος παραβαίνων διαθήκην· ἐκεῖ κατεφρόνησέν μου.
But they, like Adam ⓘ, have transgressed the covenant ⓘ; there they have dealt treacherously with me.

גלעד קרית פעלי און עקבה מדם
Γαλααδ πόλις ἐργαζομένη μάταια ταράσσουσα ὕδωρ,
Gilead ⓘ is a city of evildoers ⓘ, tracked with bloody footprints;

וכחכי איש גדודים חבר כהנים דרך ירצחו שכמה כי זמה עשו
καὶ ἡ ἰσχύς σου ἀνδρὸς πειρατοῦ· ἔκρυψαν ἱερεῖς ὁδὸν κυρίου, ἐφόνευσαν Σικιμα, ὅτι ἀνομίαν ἐποίησαν.
as bands lying in wait, so is the band of priests ⓘ: they murder on the road to Shechem ⓘ, yes, they commit outrages.

בבית ישראל ראיתי שעריריה שערוריה שם זנות לאפרים נטמא ישראל
ἐν τῷ οἴκῳ Ισραηλ εἶδον φρικώδη, ἐκεῖ πορνείαν τοῦ Εφραιμ· ἐμιάνθη Ισραηλ καὶ Ιουδα.
In the house of Israel I have seen a horrifying thing: there is the prostitution ⓘ of Ephraim, the defilement of Israel.

גם יהודה שת קציר לך בשובי שבות עמי
Ἄρχου τρυγᾶν σεαυτῷ ἐν τῷ ἐπιστρέφειν με τὴν αἰχμαλωσίαν τοῦ λαοῦ μου,
And for you too, Yehudah, a harvest ⓘ is appointed, when I restore the captives of my people.
