בשנת אחת לדריוש בן אחשורוש מזרע מדי אשר המלך על מלכות כשדים
Ἔτους πρώτου ἐπὶ Δαρείου τοῦ Ξέρξου ἀπὸ τῆς γενεᾶς τῆς Μηδικῆς, οἳ ἐβασίλευσαν ἐπὶ τὴν βασιλείαν τῶν Χαλδαίων,
In the first year of ⓘ son of Achashveròsh, of the lineage of the Medes, who was made king over the kingdom of the Chaldeans —

בשנת אחת למלכו אני דניאל בינתי בספרים מספר השנים אשר היה דבר יהוה אל ירמיה הנביא למלאות לחרבות ירושלם שבעים שנה
τῷ πρώτῳ ἔτει τῆς βασιλείας αὐτοῦ ἐγὼ Δανιηλ διενοήθην ἐν ταῖς βίβλοις τὸν ἀριθμὸν τῶν ἐτῶν, ὅτε ἐγένετο πρόσταγμα τῇ γῇ ἐπὶ Ιερεμιαν τὸν προφήτην ἐγεῖραι εἰς ἀναπλήρωσιν ὀνειδισμοῦ Ιερουσαλημ, ἑβδομήκοντα ἔτη.
in the first year of his reign, I, ⓘ, understood from the books the number of years of which there had been ⓘ to the prophet ⓘ: seventy years must be completed for the ruins of ⓘ.

ואתנה את פני אל אדני האלהים לבקש תפלה ותחנונים בצום ושק ואפר
καὶ ἔδωκα τὸ πρόσωπόν μου ἐπὶ κύριον τὸν θεὸν εὑρεῖν προσευχὴν καὶ ἔλεος ἐν νηστείαις καὶ σάκκῳ καὶ σποδῷ.
And I turned my face toward ⓘ God, to seek him in prayer and supplications, with ⓘ.

ואתפללה ליהוה אלהי ואתודה ואמרה אנא אדני האל הגדול והנורא שמר הברית והחסד לאהביו ולשמרי מצותיו
καὶ προσηυξάμην πρὸς κύριον τὸν θεὸν καὶ ἐξωμολογησάμην καὶ εἶπα Ἰδού, κύριε, σὺ εἶ ὁ θεὸς ὁ μέγας καὶ ὁ ἰσχυρὸς καὶ ὁ φοβερὸς τηρῶν τὴν διαθήκην καὶ τὸ ἔλεος τοῖς ἀγαπῶσί σε καὶ τοῖς φυλάσσουσι τὰ προστάγματά σου,
I prayed to the Tetragrammaton my God and confessed, saying: «I beseech you, ⓘ, great and awesome God, who keeps ⓘ and ⓘ for those who love you and keep your commandments:

חטאנו ועוינו והרשענו הרשענו ומרדנו וסור ממצותך וממשפטיך
ἡμάρτομεν, ἠδικήσαμεν, ἠσεβήσαμεν καὶ ἀπέστημεν καὶ παρέβημεν τὰς ἐντολάς σου καὶ τὰ κρίματά σου
we have ⓘ, committed iniquity, acted wickedly, rebelled, turning aside from your commandments and your ordinances;

ולא שמענו אל עבדיך הנביאים אשר דברו בשמך אל מלכינו שרינו ואבתינו ואל כל עם הארץ
καὶ οὐκ ἠκούσαμεν τῶν παίδων σου τῶν προφητῶν, ἃ ἐλάλησαν ἐπὶ τῷ ὀνόματί σου ἐπὶ τοὺς βασιλεῖς ἡμῶν καὶ δυνάστας ἡμῶν καὶ πατέρας ἡμῶν καὶ παντὶ ἔθνει ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς.
we have not listened to your servants ⓘ, who spoke in your Name to our kings, our rulers, our fathers, and to all the people of the land.

לך אדני הצדקה ולנו בשת הפנים כיום הזה לאיש יהודה וליושבי ירושלם ולכל ישראל הקרבים והרחקים בכל הארצות אשר הדחתם שם במעלם אשר מעלו בך
σοί, κύριε, ἡ δικαιοσύνη, καὶ ἡμῖν ἡ αἰσχύνη τοῦ προσώπου κατὰ τὴν ἡμέραν ταύτην, ἀνθρώποις Ιουδα καὶ καθημένοις ἐν Ιερουσαλημ καὶ παντὶ τῷ λαῷ Ισραηλ τῷ ἔγγιστα καὶ τῷ ἀπωτέρω ἐν πάσαις ταῖς χώραις, εἰς ἃς διεσκόρπισας αὐτοὺς ἐκεῖ ἐν τῇ πλημμελείᾳ, ᾗ ἐπλημμέλησαν ἐναντίον σου.
To you, Lord, ⓘ; to us belongs shame of face, as it is this day: to the men of ⓘ, to the inhabitants of Yerushalàim, and to all Israel, those near and those far away, in every land where you have scattered them because of the unfaithfulness they committed against you.

יהוה לנו בשת הפנים למלכינו לשרינו ולאבתינו אשר חטאנו לך
δέσποτα, ἡμῖν ἡ αἰσχύνη τοῦ προσώπου καὶ τοῖς βασιλεῦσιν ἡμῶν καὶ δυνάσταις καὶ τοῖς πατράσιν ἡμῶν, ὅτι ἡμάρτομέν σοι.
Tetragrammaton, to us belongs shame of face, to our kings, our rulers, and our fathers, because we have sinned against you.

לאדני אלהינו הרחמים והסלחות כי מרדנו בו
τῷ κυρίῳ ἡ δικαιοσύνη καὶ τὸ ἔλεος, ὅτι ἀπέστημεν ἀπὸ σοῦ
To the Lord our God belong ⓘ, because we have rebelled against Him;

ולא שמענו בקול יהוה אלהינו ללכת בתורתיו אשר נתן לפנינו ביד עבדיו הנביאים
καὶ οὐκ ἠκούσαμεν τῆς φωνῆς κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ ἡμῶν κατακολουθῆσαι τῷ νόμῳ σου, ᾧ ἔδωκας ἐνώπιον Μωσῆ καὶ ἡμῶν διὰ τῶν παίδων σου τῶν προφητῶν.
and we have not listened to the voice of the Tetragrammaton our God, to walk in His ⓘ, which He set before us through His servants the prophets.

וכל ישראל עברו את תורתך וסור לבלתי שמוע בקלך ותתך עלינו האלה והשבעה אשר כתובה בתורת משה עבד האלהים כי חטאנו לו
καὶ πᾶς Ισραηλ ἐγκατέλιπε τὸν νόμον σου καὶ ἀπέστησαν τοῦ μὴ ἀκοῦσαι τῆς φωνῆς σου, καὶ ἐπῆλθεν ἐφ’ ἡμᾶς ἡ κατάρα καὶ ὁ ὅρκος ὁ γεγραμμένος ἐν τῷ νόμῳ Μωσῆ παιδὸς τοῦ θεοῦ, ὅτι ἡμάρτομεν αὐτῷ.
And all Israel has transgressed your ⓘ and turned aside by not listening to your voice; therefore the ⓘ written in the Torah of ⓘ the servant of God have been poured out upon us, because we sinned against Him.

ויקם את דבריו דברו אשר דבר עלינו ועל שפטינו אשר שפטונו להביא עלינו רעה גדלה אשר לא נעשתה תחת כל השמים כאשר נעשתה בירושלם
καὶ ἔστησεν ἡμῖν τὰ προστάγματα αὐτοῦ, ὅσα ἐλάλησεν ἐφ’ ἡμᾶς καὶ ἐπὶ τοὺς κριτὰς ἡμῶν, ὅσα ἔκρινας ἡμῖν, ἐπαγαγεῖν ἐφ’ ἡμᾶς κακὰ μεγάλα, οἷα οὐκ ἐγενήθη ὑπὸ τὸν οὐρανὸν καθότι ἐγενήθη ἐν Ιερουσαλημ.
He has confirmed His word, which He spoke against us and against our judges who judged us, by bringing upon us a calamity so great that under all heaven nothing like it has ever been done, as has been done to Yerushalàim.

כאשר כתוב בתורת משה את כל הרעה הזאת באה עלינו ולא חלינו את פני יהוה אלהינו לשוב מעוננו ולהשכיל באמתך
κατὰ τὰ γεγραμμένα ἐν διαθήκῃ Μωσῆ πάντα τὰ κακὰ ἐπῆλθεν ἡμῖν, καὶ οὐκ ἐξεζητήσαμεν τὸ πρόσωπον κυρίου θεοῦ ἡμῶν ἀποστῆναι ἀπὸ τῶν ἁμαρτιῶν ἡμῶν καὶ διανοηθῆναι τὴν δικαιοσύνην σου, κύριε.
As it is written in the Torah of Mosheh, all this calamity has come upon us; yet we have not appeased the face of the Tetragrammaton our God by ⓘ from our iniquities and gaining insight into your ⓘ.

וישקד יהוה על הרעה ויביאה עלינו כי צדיק יהוה אלהינו על כל מעשיו אשר עשה ולא שמענו בקלו
καὶ ἠγρύπνησε κύριος ὁ θεὸς ἐπὶ τὰ κακὰ καὶ ἐπήγαγεν ἐφ’ ἡμᾶς, ὅτι δίκαιος κύριος ὁ θεὸς ἡμῶν ἐπὶ πάντα, ὅσα ἂν ποιήσῃ, καὶ οὐκ ἠκούσαμεν τῆς φωνῆς αὐτοῦ.
And the Tetragrammaton has ⓘ over the calamity and brought it upon us; for the Tetragrammaton our God is righteous in all His works, and we have not listened to His voice.

ועתה אדני אלהינו אשר הוצאת את עמך מארץ מצרים ביד חזקה ותעש לך שם כיום הזה חטאנו רשענו
καὶ νῦν, δέσποτα κύριε ὁ θεὸς ἡμῶν ὁ ἐξαγαγὼν τὸν λαόν σου ἐξ Αἰγύπτου τῷ βραχίονί σου τῷ ὑψηλῷ καὶ ἐποίησας σεαυτῷ ὄνομα κατὰ τὴν ἡμέραν ταύτην, ἡμάρτομεν, ἠγνοήκαμεν.
And now, Lord our God, you who brought your people out of the land of Egypt with ⓘ and made yourself a glorious Name, as it is to this day: we have sinned, we have acted wickedly.

אדני ככל צדקתך ישב נא אפך וחמתך מעירך ירושלם הר קדשך כי בחטאינו ובעונות אבתינו ירושלם ועמך לחרפה לכל סביבתינו
δέσποτα, κατὰ τὴν δικαιοσύνην σου ἀποστραφήτω ὁ θυμός σου καὶ ἡ ὀργή σου ἀπὸ τῆς πόλεώς σου Ιερουσαλημ ὄρους τοῦ ἁγίου σου, ὅτι ἐν ταῖς ἁμαρτίαις ἡμῶν καὶ ἐν ταῖς ἀγνοίαις τῶν πατέρων ἡμῶν Ιερουσαλημ καὶ ὁ δῆμός σου, κύριε, εἰς ὀνειδισμὸν ἐν πᾶσι τοῖς περικύκλῳ ἡμῶν.
Lord, according to all your ⓘ, let your anger and your wrath turn away from Yerushalàim, your city, your holy mountain: for because of our sins and the iniquities of our fathers, Yerushalàim and your people have become a reproach to all those around us.
17
ועתה שמע אלהינו אל תפלת עבדך ואל תחנוניו והאר פניך על מקדשך השמם למען אדני
καὶ νῦν ἐπάκουσον, δέσποτα, τῆς προσευχῆς τοῦ παιδός σου καὶ ἐπὶ τὰς δεήσεις μου, καὶ ἐπιβλεψάτω τὸ πρόσωπόν σου ἐπὶ τὸ ὄρος τὸ ἅγιόν σου τὸ ἔρημον ἕνεκεν τῶν δούλων σου, δέσποτα.
So now, our God, listen to the prayer of your servant and to his supplications; for the sake of the Lord, let your face shine upon your ⓘ which is desolate.

הטה אלהי אזנך ושמע פקחה פקח עיניך וראה שממתינו והעיר אשר נקרא שמך עליה כי לא על צדקתינו אנחנו מפילים תחנונינו לפניך כי על רחמיך הרבים
πρόσχες, κύριε, τὸ οὖς σου καὶ ἐπάκουσόν μου· ἄνοιξον τοὺς ὀφθαλμούς σου καὶ ἰδὲ τὴν ἐρήμωσιν ἡμῶν καὶ τῆς πόλεώς σου, ἐφ’ ἧς ἐπεκλήθη τὸ ὄνομά σου ἐπ’ αὐτῆς· οὐ γὰρ ἐπὶ ταῖς δικαιοσύναις ἡμῶν ἡμεῖς δεόμεθα ἐν ταῖς προσευχαῖς ἡμῶν ἐνώπιόν σου, ἀλλὰ διὰ τὸ σὸν ἔλεος,
Incline your ear, my God, and hear; open your eyes and see our desolations, and the city over which your Name is called; for it is not on the basis of our righteous deeds that we present our supplications before you, but on the basis of your great ⓘ.

אדני שמעה אדני סלחה אדני הקשיבה ועשה אל תאחר למענך אלהי כי שמך נקרא על עירך ועל עמך
κύριε, σὺ ἱλάτευσον. κύριε, ἐπάκουσον καὶ ποίησον καὶ μὴ χρονίσῃς ἕνεκα σεαυτοῦ, δέσποτα, ὅτι τὸ ὄνομά σου ἐπεκλήθη ἐπὶ τὴν πόλιν σου Σιων καὶ ἐπὶ τὸν λαόν σου Ισραηλ. –
Lord, hear! Lord, forgive! Lord, pay attention and act; do not delay, for your own sake, my God: for your Name is called over your city and your people.

ועוד אני מדבר ומתפלל ומתודה חטאתי וחטאת עמי ישראל ומפיל תחנתי לפני יהוה אלהי על הר קדש אלהי
καὶ ἕως ἐγὼ ἐλάλουν προσευχόμενος καὶ ἐξομολογούμενος τὰς ἁμαρτίας μου καὶ τὰς ἁμαρτίας τοῦ λαοῦ μου Ισραηλ καὶ δεόμενος ἐν ταῖς προσευχαῖς ἐναντίον κυρίου θεοῦ μου καὶ ὑπὲρ τοῦ ὄρους τοῦ ἁγίου τοῦ θεοῦ ἡμῶν,
While I was still speaking, praying and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication before the Tetragrammaton my God for the holy mountain of my God —

ועוד אני מדבר בתפלה והאיש גבריאל אשר ראיתי בחזון בתחלה מעף ביעף נגע אלי כעת מנחת ערב
καὶ ἔτι λαλοῦντός μου ἐν τῇ προσευχῇ μου καὶ ἰδοὺ ὁ ἀνήρ, ὃν εἶδον ἐν τῷ ὕπνῳ μου τὴν ἀρχήν, Γαβριηλ, τάχει φερόμενος προσήγγισέ μοι ἐν ὥρᾳ θυσίας ἑσπερινῆς.
while I was still speaking in prayer, behold, the man ⓘ, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, came to me in swift flight and touched me at the hour of the ⓘ.

ויבן וידבר עמי ויאמר דניאל עתה יצאתי להשכילך בינה
καὶ προσῆλθε καὶ ἐλάλησε μετ’ ἐμοῦ καὶ εἶπεν Δανιηλ, ἄρτι ἐξῆλθον ὑποδεῖξαί σοι διάνοιαν.
And he instructed me, made me understand, and said: «Daniyèl, I have now come out to give you ⓘ.
23
בתחלת תחנוניך יצא דבר ואני באתי להגיד כי חמודות אתה ובין בדבר והבן במראה
ἐν ἀρχῇ τῆς δεήσεώς σου ἐξῆλθε πρόσταγμα παρὰ κυρίου, καὶ ἐγὼ ἦλθον ὑποδεῖξαί σοι, ὅτι ἐλεεινὸς εἶ· καὶ διανοήθητι τὸ πρόσταγμα.
At the beginning of your supplications a word went out, and I have come to tell you, for you are ⓘ: therefore understand the word and consider the vision.

שבעים שבעים נחתך על עמך ועל עיר קדשך לכלא הפשע ולחתם ולהתם חטאות חטאת ולכפר עון ולהביא צדק עלמים ולחתם חזון ונביא ולמשח קדש קדשים
ἑβδομήκοντα ἑβδομάδες ἐκρίθησαν ἐπὶ τὸν λαόν σου καὶ ἐπὶ τὴν πόλιν Σιων συντελεσθῆναι τὴν ἁμαρτίαν καὶ τὰς ἀδικίας σπανίσαι καὶ ἀπαλεῖψαι τὰς ἀδικίας καὶ διανοηθῆναι τὸ ὅραμα καὶ δοθῆναι δικαιοσύνην αἰώνιον καὶ συντελεσθῆναι τὸ ὅραμα καὶ εὐφρᾶναι ἅγιον ἁγίων.
ⓘ are decreed upon your people and upon your holy city, to finish the transgression, to seal up sins, to atone for iniquity, to bring in ⓘ, to seal vision and prophet, and to anoint the ⓘ.

ותדע ותשכל מן מצא דבר להשיב ולבנות ירושלם עד משיח נגיד שבעים שבעה ושבעים ששים ושנים תשוב ונבנתה רחוב וחרוץ ובצוק העתים
καὶ γνώσῃ καὶ διανοηθήσῃ καὶ εὐφρανθήσῃ καὶ εὑρήσεις προστάγματα ἀποκριθῆναι καὶ οἰκοδομήσεις Ιερουσαλημ πόλιν κυρίῳ.
Know therefore and understand: from the going forth of the word to restore and rebuild Yerushalàim to an ⓘ, there shall be seven weeks; and for sixty-two weeks it shall be rebuilt, with square and moat, but in a time of distress.

ואחרי השבעים ששים ושנים יכרת משיח ואין לו והעיר והקדש ישחית עם נגיד הבא וקצו בשטף ועד קץ מלחמה נחרצת שממות
καὶ μετὰ ἑπτὰ καὶ ἑβδομήκοντα καὶ ἑξήκοντα δύο ἀποσταθήσεται χρῖσμα καὶ οὐκ ἔσται, καὶ βασιλεία ἐθνῶν φθερεῖ τὴν πόλιν καὶ τὸ ἅγιον μετὰ τοῦ χριστοῦ, καὶ ἥξει ἡ συντέλεια αὐτοῦ μετ’ ὀργῆς καὶ ἕως καιροῦ συντελείας· ἀπὸ πολέμου πολεμηθήσεται.
After the sixty-two weeks an ⓘ and shall have nothing; and the people of a prince who is to come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; his end shall come like a flood, and until the end there shall be war: desolations are decreed.

והגביר ברית לרבים שבוע אחד וחצי השבוע ישבית זבח ומנחה ועל כנף שקוצים משמם ועד כלה ונחרצה תתך על שמם
καὶ δυναστεύσει ἡ διαθήκη εἰς πολλούς, καὶ πάλιν ἐπιστρέψει καὶ ἀνοικοδομηθήσεται εἰς πλάτος καὶ μῆκος· καὶ κατὰ συντέλειαν καιρῶν καὶ μετὰ ἑπτὰ καὶ ἑβδομήκοντα καιροὺς καὶ ἑξήκοντα δύο ἔτη ἕως καιροῦ συντελείας πολέμου καὶ ἀφαιρεθήσεται ἡ ἐρήμωσις ἐν τῷ κατισχῦσαι τὴν διαθήκην ἐπὶ πολλὰς ἑβδομάδας· καὶ ἐν τῷ τέλει τῆς ἑβδομάδος ἀρθήσεται ἡ θυσία καὶ ἡ σπονδή, καὶ ἐπὶ τὸ ἱερὸν βδέλυγμα τῶν ἐρημώσεων ἔσται ἕως συντελείας, καὶ συντέλεια δοθήσεται ἐπὶ τὴν ἐρήμωσιν.
He shall make a firm covenant with many for one week; in the middle of the week he shall put an end to ⓘ, and on the wing of ⓘ shall come one who makes desolate, until the decreed destruction is poured out upon the desolator.
