ויבא המלך והמן לשתות עם אסתר המלכה
Εἰσῆλθεν δὲ ὁ βασιλεὺς καὶ Αμαν συμπιεῖν τῇ βασιλίσσῃ.
And the king came with Hamànⓘ to drink with Queen Estèrⓘ.

ויאמר המלך לאסתר גם ביום השני במשתה היין מה שאלתך אסתר המלכה ותנתן לך ומה בקשתך עד חצי המלכות ותעש
εἶπεν δὲ ὁ βασιλεὺς Εσθηρ τῇ δευτέρᾳ ἡμέρᾳ ἐν τῷ πότῳ Τί ἐστιν, Εσθηρ βασίλισσα, καὶ τί τὸ αἴτημά σου καὶ τί τὸ ἀξίωμά σου; καὶ ἔστω σοι ἕως τοῦ ἡμίσους τῆς βασιλείας μου.
And the king said to Estèr also on the second day, during the wine banquetⓘ: "What is your request, Queen Estèr? And it shall be granted. And what is your petition? Up to half the kingdom, and it shall be done."

ותען אסתר המלכה ותאמר אם מצאתי חן בעיניך המלך ואם על המלך טוב תנתן לי נפשי בשאלתי ועמי בבקשתי
καὶ ἀποκριθεῖσα εἶπεν Εἰ εὗρον χάριν ἐνώπιον τοῦ βασιλέως, δοθήτω ἡ ψυχή μου τῷ αἰτήματί μου καὶ ὁ λαός μου τῷ ἀξιώματί μου·
And Queen Estèr answered and said: "If I have found graceⓘ in your eyes, O king, and if it please the king, let my lifeⓘ be given to me at my request, and my people at my petition:

כי נמכרנו אני ועמי להשמיד להרוג ולאבד ואלו לעבדים ולשפחות נמכרנו החרשתי כי אין הצר שוה בנזק המלך
ἐπράθημεν γὰρ ἐγώ τε καὶ ὁ λαός μου εἰς ἀπώλειαν καὶ διαρπαγὴν καὶ δουλείαν, ἡμεῖς καὶ τὰ τέκνα ἡμῶν εἰς παῖδας καὶ παιδίσκας, καὶ παρήκουσα· οὐ γὰρ ἄξιος ὁ διάβολος τῆς αὐλῆς τοῦ βασιλέως.
for we have been soldⓘ, I and my people, to be destroyed, killed and annihilatedⓘ. Had we been sold as male and female slaves, I would have held my peace, for the distress would not be worth troubling the king."

ויאמר המלך אחשורוש ויאמר לאסתר המלכה מי הוא זה ואי זה הוא אשר מלאו לבו לעשות כן
εἶπεν δὲ ὁ βασιλεύς Τίς οὗτος, ὅστις ἐτόλμησεν ποιῆσαι τὸ πρᾶγμα τοῦτο;
And the king Achashveròshⓘ spoke and said to Queen Estèr: "Who is he, and where is he, who has filled his heart to do this?"

ותאמר אסתר איש צר ואויב המן הרע הזה והמן נבעת מלפני המלך והמלכה
εἶπεν δὲ Εσθηρ Ἄνθρωπος ἐχθρὸς Αμαν ὁ πονηρὸς οὗτος. Αμαν δὲ ἐταράχθη ἀπὸ τοῦ βασιλέως καὶ τῆς βασιλίσσης.
And Estèr said: "A man adversary and enemyⓘ: this wicked Hamàn!" And Hamàn was terrifiedⓘ before the king and the queen.

והמלך קם בחמתו ממשתה היין אל גנת הביתן והמן עמד לבקש על נפשו מאסתר המלכה כי ראה כי כלתה אליו הרעה מאת המלך
ὁ δὲ βασιλεὺς ἐξανέστη ἐκ τοῦ συμποσίου εἰς τὸν κῆπον· ὁ δὲ Αμαν παρῃτεῖτο τὴν βασίλισσαν, ἑώρα γὰρ ἑαυτὸν ἐν κακοῖς ὄντα.
And the king rose in his furyⓘ from the wine banquet toward the palace garden; and Hamàn remained to plead for his life with Queen Estèr, for he saw that harm was determined against him by the king.

והמלך שב מגנת הביתן אל בית משתה היין והמן נפל על המטה אשר אסתר עליה ויאמר המלך הגם לכבוש את המלכה עמי בבית הדבר יצא מפי המלך ופני המן חפו
ἐπέστρεψεν δὲ ὁ βασιλεὺς ἐκ τοῦ κήπου, Αμαν δὲ ἐπιπεπτώκει ἐπὶ τὴν κλίνην ἀξιῶν τὴν βασίλισσαν· εἶπεν δὲ ὁ βασιλεύς Ὥστε καὶ τὴν γυναῖκα βιάζῃ ἐν τῇ οἰκίᾳ μου; Αμαν δὲ ἀκούσας διετράπη τῷ προσώπῳ.
And the king returned from the palace garden to the house of the wine banquet, and Hamàn had fallen upon the couch where Estèr was; and the king said: "Will he also violate the queenⓘ, with me in the house?" The word went out from the king's mouth, and they covered the faceⓘ of Hamàn.

ויאמר חרבונה אחד מן הסריסים לפני המלך גם הנה העץ אשר עשה המן למרדכי אשר דבר טוב על המלך עמד בבית המן גבה חמשים אמה ויאמר המלך תלהו עליו
εἶπεν δὲ Βουγαθαν εἷς τῶν εὐνούχων πρὸς τὸν βασιλέα Ἰδοὺ καὶ ξύλον ἡτοίμασεν Αμαν Μαρδοχαίῳ τῷ λαλήσαντι περὶ τοῦ βασιλέως, καὶ ὤρθωται ἐν τοῖς Αμαν ξύλον πηχῶν πεντήκοντα. εἶπεν δὲ ὁ βασιλεύς Σταυρωθήτω ἐπ’ αὐτοῦ.
And Charvonàhⓘ, one of the eunuchs before the king, said: "Look, the woodⓘ, the gallows that Hamàn made for Mordekhàiⓘ, who spoke good on behalf of the king, stands in the house of Hamàn, fifty cubits high." And the king said: "Hang him on it."

ויתלו את המן על העץ אשר הכין למרדכי וחמת המלך שככה
καὶ ἐκρεμάσθη Αμαν ἐπὶ τοῦ ξύλου, ὃ ἡτοίμασεν Μαρδοχαίῳ. καὶ τότε ὁ βασιλεὺς ἐκόπασεν τοῦ θυμοῦ.
And they hanged Hamàn on the wood that he had prepared for Mordekhàiⓘ; and the wrath of the king was appeased.
