ויעל מלאך יהוה מן הגלגל אל הבכים ויאמר אעלה אתכם ממצרים ואביא אתכם אל הארץ אשר נשבעתי לאבתיכם ואמר לא אפר בריתי אתכם לעולם
Καὶ ἀνέβη ἄγγελος κυρίου ἀπὸ Γαλγαλ ἐπὶ τὸν Κλαυθμῶνα καὶ ἐπὶ Βαιθηλ καὶ ἐπὶ τὸν οἶκον Ισραηλ καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτούς Κύριος κύριος ἀνεβίβασεν ὑμᾶς ἐξ Αἰγύπτου καὶ εἰσήγαγεν ὑμᾶς εἰς τὴν γῆν, ἣν ὤμοσεν τοῖς πατράσιν ὑμῶν τοῦ δοῦναι ὑμῖν, καὶ εἶπεν ὑμῖν Οὐ διασκεδάσω τὴν διαθήκην μου τὴν μεθ’ ὑμῶν εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα·
And the ⓘ went up from ⓘ to ⓘ and said: «I brought you up from Egypt and led you into the land that I swore to your fathers, and I said: I will not break my ⓘ with you forever;

ואתם לא תכרתו ברית ליושבי הארץ הזאת מזבחותיהם תתצון ולא שמעתם בקלי מה זאת עשיתם
καὶ ὑμεῖς οὐ διαθήσεσθε διαθήκην τοῖς ἐγκαθημένοις εἰς τὴν γῆν ταύτην οὐδὲ τοῖς θεοῖς αὐτῶν οὐ μὴ προσκυνήσητε, ἀλλὰ τὰ γλυπτὰ αὐτῶν συντρίψετε καὶ τὰ θυσιαστήρια αὐτῶν κατασκάψετε. καὶ οὐκ εἰσηκούσατε τῆς φωνῆς μου, ὅτε ταῦτα ἐποιήσατε.
and you shall not make a covenant with the inhabitants of this land: their altars you shall tear down. But you have not listened to my voice: ⓘ?

וגם אמרתי לא אגרש אותם מפניכם והיו לכם לצדים ואלהיהם יהיו לכם למוקש
καὶ ἐγὼ εἶπα Οὐ προσθήσω τοῦ μετοικίσαι τὸν λαόν, ὃν εἶπα τοῦ ἐξολεθρεῦσαι αὐτοὺς ἐκ προσώπου ὑμῶν, καὶ ἔσονται ὑμῖν εἰς συνοχάς, καὶ οἱ θεοὶ αὐτῶν ἔσονται ὑμῖν εἰς σκάνδαλον.
And I also said: I will not drive them out before you; they shall be at your ⓘ and their gods shall be a ⓘ to you.

ויהי כדבר מלאך יהוה את הדברים האלה אל כל בני ישראל וישאו העם את קולם ויבכו
καὶ ἐγένετο ὡς ἐλάλησεν ὁ ἄγγελος κυρίου τοὺς λόγους τούτους πρὸς πάντα Ισραηλ, καὶ ἐπῆρεν ὁ λαὸς τὴν φωνὴν αὐτῶν καὶ ἔκλαυσαν.
And it came about, when the messenger of the Tetragrammaton spoke these words to all the children of Israel, that the people raised their voice and wept.

ויקראו שם המקום ההוא בכים ויזבחו שם ליהוה
διὰ τοῦτο ἐκλήθη τὸ ὄνομα τοῦ τόπου ἐκείνου Κλαυθμών· καὶ ἔθυσαν ἐκεῖ τῷ κυρίῳ.
Therefore they called that place ⓘ, and there ⓘ.

וישלח יהושע את העם וילכו בני ישראל איש לנחלתו לרשת את הארץ
Καὶ ἐξαπέστειλεν Ἰησοῦς τὸν λαόν, καὶ ἀπῆλθαν οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ ἕκαστος εἰς τὸν οἶκον αὐτοῦ καὶ εἰς τὴν κληρονομίαν αὐτοῦ τοῦ κατακληρονομῆσαι τὴν γῆν.
And ⓘ dismissed the people, and the children of Israel went each to his ⓘ to possess the land.

ויעבדו העם את יהוה כל ימי יהושע וכל ימי הזקנים אשר האריכו ימים אחרי יהושוע אשר ראו את כל מעשה יהוה הגדול אשר עשה לישראל
καὶ ἐδούλευσεν ὁ λαὸς τῷ κυρίῳ πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας Ἰησοῦ καὶ πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας τῶν πρεσβυτέρων, ὅσοι ἐμακροημέρευσαν μετὰ Ἰησοῦν, ὅσοι ἔγνωσαν πᾶν τὸ ἔργον κυρίου τὸ μέγα, ὃ ἐποίησεν τῷ Ισραηλ.
The people ⓘ all the days of Yehoshùa and all the days of the ⓘ who outlived Yehoshùa, who had seen all the great work of the Tetragrammaton that he had done for Israel.

וימת יהושע בן נון עבד יהוה בן מאה ועשר שנים
καὶ ἐτελεύτησεν Ἰησοῦς υἱὸς Ναυη δοῦλος κυρίου υἱὸς ἑκατὸν δέκα ἐτῶν.
And Yehoshùa son of Nun, ⓘ, died at one hundred and ten years of age;

ויקברו אותו בגבול נחלתו בתמנת חרס בהר אפרים מצפון להר געש
καὶ ἔθαψαν αὐτὸν ἐν ὁρίῳ τῆς κληρονομίας αὐτοῦ ἐν Θαμναθαρες ἐν ὄρει Εφραιμ ἀπὸ βορρᾶ τοῦ ὄρους Γαας.
they buried him in the territory of his inheritance, at ⓘ, on the hill country of Ephraim, north of Mount Gàʿash.

וגם כל הדור ההוא נאספו אל אבותיו ויקם דור אחר אחריהם אשר לא ידעו את יהוה וגם את המעשה אשר עשה לישראל
καὶ πᾶσα ἡ γενεὰ ἐκείνη προσετέθησαν πρὸς τοὺς πατέρας αὐτῶν, καὶ ἀνέστη γενεὰ ἑτέρα μετ’ αὐτούς, ὅσοι οὐκ ἔγνωσαν τὸν κύριον καὶ τὸ ἔργον, ὃ ἐποίησεν τῷ Ισραηλ.
And also all that generation was gathered to their fathers, and there arose after them another generation that ⓘ nor the work that he had done for Israel.

ויעשו בני ישראל את הרע בעיני יהוה ויעבדו את הבעלים
Καὶ ἐποίησαν οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ τὸ πονηρὸν ἐναντίον κυρίου καὶ ἐλάτρευον τοῖς Βααλιμ.
And the children of Israel did ⓘ and served the ⓘ;

ויעזבו את יהוה אלהי אבותם המוציא אותם מארץ מצרים וילכו אחרי אלהים אחרים מאלהי העמים אשר סביבותיהם וישתחוו להם ויכעסו את יהוה
καὶ ἐγκατέλιπον τὸν κύριον θεὸν τῶν πατέρων αὐτῶν τὸν ἐξαγαγόντα αὐτοὺς ἐκ γῆς Αἰγύπτου καὶ ἐπορεύθησαν ὀπίσω θεῶν ἑτέρων ἀπὸ τῶν θεῶν τῶν λαῶν τῶν περικύκλῳ αὐτῶν καὶ προσεκύνησαν αὐτοῖς καὶ παρώργισαν τὸν κύριον
they forsook the Tetragrammaton, the God of their fathers, who had brought them out of the land of Egypt, and went after other gods from among the gods of the peoples who were around them, and bowed down before them and ⓘ;

ויעזבו את יהוה ויעבדו לבעל ולעשתרות
καὶ ἐγκατέλιπον τὸν κύριον καὶ ἐλάτρευσαν τῇ Βααλ καὶ ταῖς Ἀστάρταις.
they forsook the Tetragrammaton and served ⓘ.

ויחר אף יהוה בישראל ויתנם ביד שסים וישסו אותם וימכרם ביד אויביהם מסביב ולא יכלו עוד לעמד לפני אויביהם
καὶ ὠργίσθη θυμῷ κύριος τῷ Ισραηλ καὶ παρέδωκεν αὐτοὺς ἐν χειρὶ προνομευόντων, καὶ ἐπρονόμευσαν αὐτούς· καὶ ἀπέδοτο αὐτοὺς ἐν χειρὶ τῶν ἐχθρῶν αὐτῶν κυκλόθεν, καὶ οὐκ ἠδυνάσθησαν ἀντιστῆναι κατὰ πρόσωπον τῶν ἐχθρῶν αὐτῶν.
The ⓘ was kindled against Israel, and he gave them into the hand of ⓘ who plundered them, and he sold them into the hand of their surrounding enemies, and they could no longer stand before their enemies.

בכל אשר יצאו יד יהוה היתה בם לרעה כאשר דבר יהוה וכאשר נשבע יהוה להם ויצר להם מאד
ἐν πᾶσιν, οἷς ἐπόρνευον, καὶ χεὶρ κυρίου ἦν αὐτοῖς εἰς κακά, καθὼς ἐλάλησεν κύριος καὶ καθὼς ὤμοσεν κύριος, καὶ ἐξέθλιψεν αὐτοὺς σφόδρα.
In all their undertakings the ⓘ was against them for evil, as the Tetragrammaton had spoken and as the Tetragrammaton had sworn to them; and they were brought into great distress.

ויקם יהוה שפטים ויושיעום מיד שסיהם
καὶ ἤγειρεν αὐτοῖς κύριος κριτὰς καὶ ἔσωσεν αὐτοὺς ἐκ χειρὸς τῶν προνομευόντων αὐτούς.
But the Tetragrammaton raised up ⓘ for them, who saved them from the hand of their plunderers;

וגם אל שפטיהם לא שמעו כי זנו אחרי אלהים אחרים וישתחוו להם סרו מהר מן הדרך אשר הלכו אבותם לשמע מצות יהוה לא עשו כן
καί γε τῶν κριτῶν αὐτῶν οὐκ ἐπήκουσαν, ὅτι ἐξεπόρνευσαν ὀπίσω θεῶν ἑτέρων καὶ προσεκύνησαν αὐτοῖς καὶ παρώργισαν τὸν κύριον· καὶ ἐξέκλιναν ταχὺ ἐκ τῆς ὁδοῦ, ἧς ἐπορεύθησαν οἱ πατέρες αὐτῶν τοῦ εἰσακούειν ἐντολὰς κυρίου, οὐκ ἐποίησαν οὕτως.
yet even to their judges they did not listen, for ⓘ after other gods and bowed down before them; they quickly turned aside from the way their fathers had walked, obeying the commandments of the Tetragrammaton: they did not do so.

וכי הקים יהוה להם שפטים והיה יהוה עם השפט והושיעם מיד איביהם כל ימי השופט כי ינחם יהוה מנאקתם מפני לחציהם ודחקיהם
καὶ ὅτι ἤγειρεν αὐτοῖς κύριος κριτάς, καὶ ἦν κύριος μετὰ τοῦ κριτοῦ καὶ ἔσωσεν αὐτοὺς ἐκ χειρὸς τῶν ἐχθρῶν αὐτῶν πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας τοῦ κριτοῦ, ὅτι παρεκλήθη κύριος ἀπὸ τοῦ στεναγμοῦ αὐτῶν ἀπὸ προσώπου τῶν πολιορκούντων αὐτοὺς καὶ κακούντων αὐτούς.
And when the Tetragrammaton raised up judges for them, the Tetragrammaton was with the judge and saved them from the hand of their enemies all the days of the judge, because the Tetragrammaton ⓘ by their ⓘ under those who oppressed and afflicted them.

והיה במות השופט ישבו והשחיתו מאבותם ללכת אחרי אלהים אחרים לעבדם ולהשתחות להם לא הפילו ממעלליהם ומדרכם הקשה
καὶ ἐγένετο ὡς ἀπέθνῃσκεν ὁ κριτής, καὶ ἀπέστρεψαν καὶ πάλιν διέφθειραν ὑπὲρ τοὺς πατέρας αὐτῶν πορευθῆναι ὀπίσω θεῶν ἑτέρων λατρεύειν αὐτοῖς καὶ προσκυνεῖν αὐτοῖς· οὐκ ἀπέρριψαν τὰ ἐπιτηδεύματα αὐτῶν καὶ οὐκ ἀπέστησαν ἀπὸ τῆς ὁδοῦ αὐτῶν τῆς σκληρᾶς.
But when the judge died, they turned back and acted more corruptly than their fathers, going after other gods to serve them and bow down before them: they did not cease from their ⓘ nor from their ⓘ.

ויחר אף יהוה בישראל ויאמר יען אשר עברו הגוי הזה את בריתי אשר צויתי את אבותם ולא שמעו לקולי
καὶ ὠργίσθη θυμῷ κύριος ἐν τῷ Ισραηλ καὶ εἶπεν Ἀνθ ὧν ὅσα ἐγκατέλιπαν τὸ ἔθνος τοῦτο τὴν διαθήκην μου, ἣν ἐνετειλάμην τοῖς πατράσιν αὐτῶν, καὶ οὐχ ὑπήκουσαν τῆς φωνῆς μου,
Then the anger of the Tetragrammaton was kindled against Israel, and he said: «Because this nation has ⓘ that I commanded their fathers, and has not listened to my voice,

גם אני לא אוסיף להוריש איש מפניהם מן הגוים אשר עזב יהושע וימת
καὶ ἐγὼ οὐ προσθήσω τοῦ ἐξᾶραι ἄνδρα ἐκ προσώπου αὐτῶν ἀπὸ τῶν ἐθνῶν, ὧν κατέλιπεν Ἰησοῦς καὶ ἀφῆκεν,
I also will no longer drive out before them any of the nations that Yehoshùa left when he died,
22
למען נסות בם את ישראל השמרים הם את דרך יהוה ללכת בם כאשר שמרו אבותם אם לא
τοῦ πειράσαι ἐν αὐτοῖς τὸν Ισραηλ εἰ φυλάσσονται τὴν ὁδὸν κυρίου πορεύεσθαι ἐν αὐτῇ, ὃν τρόπον ἐφυλάξαντο οἱ πατέρες αὐτῶν, ἢ οὔ.
in order to ⓘ Israel by them: whether they will keep the way of the Tetragrammaton, walking in it as their fathers kept it, or not».
23
וינח יהוה את הגוים האלה לבלתי הורישם מהר ולא נתנם ביד יהושע
καὶ ἀφῆκεν κύριος τὰ ἔθνη ταῦτα τοῦ μὴ ἐξᾶραι αὐτὰ τὸ τάχος καὶ οὐ παρέδωκεν αὐτὰ ἐν χειρὶ Ἰησοῦ.
So the Tetragrammaton ⓘ those nations without driving them out quickly, and he did not give them into the hand of Yehoshùa.
