כי יביאך יהוה אלהיך אל הארץ אשר אתה בא שמה לרשתה ונשל גוים רבים מפניך החתי והגרגשי והאמרי והכנעני והפרזי והחוי והיבוסי שבעה גוים רבים ועצומים ממך
Ἐὰν δὲ εἰσαγάγῃ σε κύριος ὁ θεός σου εἰς τὴν γῆν, εἰς ἣν εἰσπορεύῃ ἐκεῖ κληρονομῆσαι, καὶ ἐξαρεῖ ἔθνη μεγάλα ἀπὸ προσώπου σου, τὸν Χετταῖον καὶ Γεργεσαῖον καὶ Αμορραῖον καὶ Χαναναῖον καὶ Φερεζαῖον καὶ Ευαῖον καὶ Ιεβουσαῖον, ἑπτὰ ἔθνη πολλὰ καὶ ἰσχυρότερα ὑμῶν,
When the Tetragrammaton your God will have brought you inⓘ into the land where you are about to go to take possession of itⓘ, and will have uprootedⓘ many nations before you — the Hittite and the Girgashiteⓘ and the Amorite and the Canaanite and the Perizzite and the Hivite and the Jebusite, seven nationsⓘ more numerous and more mightyⓘ than you,

ונתנם יהוה אלהיך לפניך והכיתם החרם תחרים אתם לא תכרת להם ברית ולא תחנם
καὶ παραδώσει αὐτοὺς κύριος ὁ θεός σου εἰς τὰς χεῖράς σου καὶ πατάξεις αὐτούς, ἀφανισμῷ ἀφανιεῖς αὐτούς, οὐ διαθήσῃ πρὸς αὐτοὺς διαθήκην οὐδὲ μὴ ἐλεήσητε αὐτούς.
and when the Tetragrammaton your God will have delivered them up before you and you have struck them down, you shall devote them to destructionⓘ: you shall not conclude a covenant with themⓘ nor show them favorⓘ.

ולא תתחתן בם בתך לא תתן לבנו ובתו לא תקח לבנך
οὐδὲ μὴ γαμβρεύσητε πρὸς αὐτούς· τὴν θυγατέρα σου οὐ δώσεις τῷ υἱῷ αὐτοῦ καὶ τὴν θυγατέρα αὐτοῦ οὐ λήμψῃ τῷ υἱῷ σου·
And you shall not make marriagesⓘ with them: your daughter you shall not give to his son, and his daughter you shall not take for your son,

כי יסיר את בנך מאחרי ועבדו אלהים אחרים וחרה אף יהוה בכם והשמידך מהר
ἀποστήσει γὰρ τὸν υἱόν σου ἀπ’ ἐμοῦ, καὶ λατρεύσει θεοῖς ἑτέροις, καὶ ὀργισθήσεται θυμῷ κύριος εἰς ὑμᾶς καὶ ἐξολεθρεύσει σε τὸ τάχος.
for he would turn awayⓘ your son from following meⓘ and they would serve other godsⓘ; and the anger of the Tetragrammatonⓘ would blaze against you, and he would destroy you quicklyⓘ.

כי אם כה תעשו להם מזבחתיהם תתצו ומצבתם תשברו ואשירהם תגדעון ופסיליהם תשרפון באש
ἀλλ’ οὕτως ποιήσετε αὐτοῖς· τοὺς βωμοὺς αὐτῶν καθελεῖτε καὶ τὰς στήλας αὐτῶν συντρίψετε καὶ τὰ ἄλση αὐτῶν ἐκκόψετε καὶ τὰ γλυπτὰ τῶν θεῶν αὐτῶν κατακαύσετε πυρί·
But thus shall you do to them: their altarsⓘ you shall demolish, and their pillarsⓘ you shall shatter, and their sacred polesⓘ you shall cut down, and their carved imagesⓘ you shall give to the flames in the fire.

כי עם קדוש אתה ליהוה אלהיך בך בחר יהוה אלהיך להיות לו לעם סגלה מכל העמים אשר על פני האדמה
ὅτι λαὸς ἅγιος εἶ κυρίῳ τῷ θεῷ σου, καὶ σὲ προείλατο κύριος ὁ θεός σου εἶναί σε αὐτῷ λαὸν περιούσιον παρὰ πάντα τὰ ἔθνη, ὅσα ἐπὶ προσώπου τῆς γῆς.
For you are a holy peopleⓘ to the Tetragrammaton your God: you the Tetragrammaton your God has chosenⓘ to be for him a people of special possessionⓘ among all the peoples that are on the face of the groundⓘ.

לא מרבכם מכל העמים חשק יהוה בכם ויבחר בכם כי אתם המעט מכל העמים
οὐχ ὅτι πολυπληθεῖτε παρὰ πάντα τὰ ἔθνη, προείλατο κύριος ὑμᾶς καὶ ἐξελέξατο ὑμᾶς – ὑμεῖς γάρ ἐστε ὀλιγοστοὶ παρὰ πάντα τὰ ἔθνη – ,
Not because you were more numerousⓘ than all the peoples did the Tetragrammaton set his loveⓘ upon you and choose you — you who are the fewestⓘ of all the peoples —

כי מאהבת יהוה אתכם ומשמרו את השבעה אשר נשבע לאבתיכם הוציא יהוה אתכם ביד חזקה ויפדך מבית עבדים מיד פרעה מלך מצרים
ἀλλὰ παρὰ τὸ ἀγαπᾶν κύριον ὑμᾶς καὶ διατηρῶν τὸν ὅρκον, ὃν ὤμοσεν τοῖς πατράσιν ὑμῶν, ἐξήγαγεν κύριος ὑμᾶς ἐν χειρὶ κραταιᾷ καὶ ἐν βραχίονι ὑψηλῷ καὶ ἐλυτρώσατο ἐξ οἴκου δουλείας ἐκ χειρὸς Φαραω βασιλέως Αἰγύπτου.
but because the Tetragrammaton loves youⓘ and to keep the oathⓘ that he had sworn to your fathers, the Tetragrammaton brought you out with a strong handⓘ and redeemed youⓘ from the house of slavesⓘ, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.

וידעת כי יהוה אלהיך הוא האלהים האל הנאמן שמר הברית והחסד לאהביו ולשמרי מצותו מצותיו לאלף דור
καὶ γνώσῃ ὅτι κύριος ὁ θεός σου, οὗτος θεός, θεὸς πιστός, ὁ φυλάσσων διαθήκην καὶ ἔλεος τοῖς ἀγαπῶσιν αὐτὸν καὶ τοῖς φυλάσσουσιν τὰς ἐντολὰς αὐτοῦ εἰς χιλίας γενεὰς
And you shall acknowledgeⓘ that the Tetragrammaton your God is he, the Godⓘ, the faithful Godⓘ who keeps the covenant and the steadfast loveⓘ toward those who love him and keep his commandments, to a thousand generationsⓘ,

ומשלם לשנאיו אל פניו להאבידו לא יאחר לשנאו אל פניו ישלם לו
καὶ ἀποδιδοὺς τοῖς μισοῦσιν κατὰ πρόσωπον ἐξολεθρεῦσαι αὐτούς· καὶ οὐχὶ βραδυνεῖ τοῖς μισοῦσιν, κατὰ πρόσωπον ἀποδώσει αὐτοῖς.
and repaysⓘ those who hate him to their faceⓘ so as to make him perishⓘ: he will not delayⓘ with the one who hates him, to his face he will repay him.

ושמרת את המצוה ואת החקים ואת המשפטים אשר אנכי מצוך היום לעשותם
καὶ φυλάξῃ τὰς ἐντολὰς καὶ τὰ δικαιώματα καὶ τὰ κρίματα ταῦτα, ὅσα ἐγὼ ἐντέλλομαί σοι σήμερον ποιεῖν.
And you shall keepⓘ the commandmentⓘ and the statutesⓘ and the judgmentsⓘ that today I command you to put into practice.

והיה עקב תשמעון את המשפטים האלה ושמרתם ועשיתם אתם ושמר יהוה אלהיך לך את הברית ואת החסד אשר נשבע לאבתיך
Καὶ ἔσται ἡνίκα ἂν ἀκούσητε πάντα τὰ δικαιώματα ταῦτα καὶ φυλάξητε καὶ ποιήσητε αὐτά, καὶ διαφυλάξει κύριος ὁ θεός σού σοι τὴν διαθήκην καὶ τὸ ἔλεος, ὃ ὤμοσεν τοῖς πατράσιν ὑμῶν,
And it shall come to pass that, as a consequenceⓘ of your hearkening to these judgments and keeping them and putting them into practice, the Tetragrammaton your God will keep for you the covenant and the steadfast loveⓘ that he had sworn to your fathers,

ואהבך וברכך והרבך וברך פרי בטנך ופרי אדמתך דגנך ותירשך ויצהרך שגר אלפיך ועשתרת צאנך על האדמה אשר נשבע לאבתיך לתת לך
καὶ ἀγαπήσει σε καὶ εὐλογήσει σε καὶ πληθυνεῖ σε καὶ εὐλογήσει τὰ ἔκγονα τῆς κοιλίας σου καὶ τὸν καρπὸν τῆς γῆς σου, τὸν σῖτόν σου καὶ τὸν οἶνόν σου καὶ τὸ ἔλαιόν σου, τὰ βουκόλια τῶν βοῶν σου καὶ τὰ ποίμνια τῶν προβάτων σου ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς, ἧς ὤμοσεν κύριος τοῖς πατράσιν σου δοῦναί σοι.
and he will love youⓘ and bless you and multiply youⓘ, and he will bless the fruit of your wombⓘ and the fruit of your ground, your grainⓘ and your new wineⓘ and your fresh oilⓘ, the offspring of your cattleⓘ and the young of your flocksⓘ upon the ground that he had sworn to your fathers to give you.

ברוך תהיה מכל העמים לא יהיה בך עקר ועקרה ובבהמתך
εὐλογητὸς ἔσῃ παρὰ πάντα τὰ ἔθνη· οὐκ ἔσται ἐν ὑμῖν ἄγονος οὐδὲ στεῖρα καὶ ἐν τοῖς κτήνεσίν σου.
Blessedⓘ shall you be more than all the peoples: there shall not be among you a barren oneⓘ neither male nor female, nor even among your livestock.

והסיר יהוה ממך כל חלי וכל מדוי מצרים הרעים אשר ידעת לא ישימם בך ונתנם בכל שנאיך
καὶ περιελεῖ κύριος ἀπὸ σοῦ πᾶσαν μαλακίαν· καὶ πάσας νόσους Αἰγύπτου τὰς πονηράς, ἃς ἑώρακας καὶ ὅσα ἔγνως, οὐκ ἐπιθήσει ἐπὶ σὲ καὶ ἐπιθήσει αὐτὰ ἐπὶ πάντας τοὺς μισοῦντάς σε.
And the Tetragrammaton will removeⓘ from you every sicknessⓘ, and all the evil maladiesⓘ of Egypt, which you have known, he will not lay upon you but will lay upon all those who hate you.

ואכלת את כל העמים אשר יהוה אלהיך נתן לך לא תחס עינך עליהם ולא תעבד את אלהיהם כי מוקש הוא לך
καὶ φάγῃ πάντα τὰ σκῦλα τῶν ἐθνῶν, ἃ κύριος ὁ θεός σου δίδωσίν σοι· οὐ φείσεται ὁ ὀφθαλμός σου ἐπ’ αὐτοῖς, καὶ οὐ λατρεύσεις τοῖς θεοῖς αὐτῶν, ὅτι σκῶλον τοῦτό ἐστίν σοι.
And you shall devourⓘ all the peoples that the Tetragrammaton your God gives you: your eye shall not have pityⓘ on them, and you shall not serve their gods, for that would be for you a snareⓘ.

כי תאמר בלבבך רבים הגוים האלה ממני איכה אוכל להורישם
Ἐὰν δὲ λέγῃς ἐν τῇ διανοίᾳ σου ὅτι Πολὺ τὸ ἔθνος τοῦτο ἢ ἐγώ, πῶς δυνήσομαι ἐξολεθρεῦσαι αὐτούς;
If you say in your heartⓘ: «More numerous than I are these nations; how shall I be able to dispossess themⓘ?»,

לא תירא מהם זכר תזכר את אשר עשה יהוה אלהיך לפרעה ולכל מצרים
οὐ φοβηθήσῃ αὐτούς· μνείᾳ μνησθήσῃ ὅσα ἐποίησεν κύριος ὁ θεός σου τῷ Φαραω καὶ πᾶσι τοῖς Αἰγυπτίοις,
do not fearⓘ them: you shall surely rememberⓘ what the Tetragrammaton your God did to Pharaoh and to all Egypt,

המסת הגדלת אשר ראו עיניך והאתת והמפתים והיד החזקה והזרע הנטויה אשר הוצאך יהוה אלהיך כן יעשה יהוה אלהיך לכל העמים אשר אתה ירא מפניהם
τοὺς πειρασμοὺς τοὺς μεγάλους, οὓς εἴδοσαν οἱ ὀφθαλμοί σου, τὰ σημεῖα καὶ τὰ τέρατα τὰ μεγάλα ἐκεῖνα, τὴν χεῖρα τὴν κραταιὰν καὶ τὸν βραχίονα τὸν ὑψηλόν, ὡς ἐξήγαγέν σε κύριος ὁ θεός σου· οὕτως ποιήσει κύριος ὁ θεὸς ἡμῶν πᾶσιν τοῖς ἔθνεσιν, οὓς σὺ φοβῇ ἀπὸ προσώπου αὐτῶν.
—— Septuagint (LXX) ——the great trials that your eyes saw, the signs and those great wonders, the mighty hand and the uplifted arm, with which the Tetragrammaton your God brought you out: so will the Tetragrammaton our God ⓘ do to all the peoples before whom you tremble with fear.—— Masoretic (MT) ——the great trialsⓘ that your eyes saw, and the signsⓘ and the portentsⓘ, and the strong hand and the outstretched armⓘ with which the Tetragrammaton your God brought you out: so will the Tetragrammaton your God do to all the peoples of whom you are afraid.

וגם את הצרעה ישלח יהוה אלהיך בם עד אבד הנשארים והנסתרים מפניך
καὶ τὰς σφηκίας ἀποστελεῖ κύριος ὁ θεός σου εἰς αὐτούς, ἕως ἂν ἐκτριβῶσιν οἱ καταλελειμμένοι καὶ οἱ κεκρυμμένοι ἀπὸ σοῦ.
And also the hornetⓘ will the Tetragrammaton your God send against them, until those who remainⓘ and those who hide themselvesⓘ from you should perish.

לא תערץ מפניהם כי יהוה אלהיך בקרבך אל גדול ונורא
οὐ τρωθήσῃ ἀπὸ προσώπου αὐτῶν, ὅτι κύριος ὁ θεός σου ἐν σοί, θεὸς μέγας καὶ κραταιός,
—— Septuagint (LXX) ——You shall not be wounded before them, for the Tetragrammaton your God is in your midst, a God great and mighty ⓘ.—— Masoretic (MT) ——Do not be terrifiedⓘ before them, for the Tetragrammaton your God is in your midstⓘ, a God great and awesomeⓘ.

ונשל יהוה אלהיך את הגוים האל מפניך מעט מעט לא תוכל כלתם מהר פן תרבה עליך חית השדה
καὶ καταναλώσει κύριος ὁ θεός σου τὰ ἔθνη ταῦτα ἀπὸ προσώπου σου κατὰ μικρὸν μικρόν· οὐ δυνήσῃ ἐξαναλῶσαι αὐτοὺς τὸ τάχος, ἵνα μὴ γένηται ἡ γῆ ἔρημος καὶ πληθυνθῇ ἐπὶ σὲ τὰ θηρία τὰ ἄγρια.
—— Septuagint (LXX) ——The Tetragrammaton your God will consume these nations before you little by little ⓘ: you shall not be able to exterminate them quickly, lest the land become a desert ⓘ and the wild beasts multiply against you.—— Masoretic (MT) ——And the Tetragrammaton your God will uprootⓘ these nations before you little by littleⓘ: you shall not be able to exterminate themⓘ quickly, lest the beast of the fieldⓘ multiply against you.

ונתנם יהוה אלהיך לפניך והמם מהומה גדלה עד השמדם
καὶ παραδώσει αὐτοὺς κύριος ὁ θεός σου εἰς τὰς χεῖράς σου καὶ ἀπολέσει αὐτοὺς ἀπωλείᾳ μεγάλῃ, ἕως ἂν ἐξολεθρεύσῃ αὐτούς,
And the Tetragrammaton your God will deliver them up before you and cast them into great confusionⓘ until they are destroyed,
24
ונתן מלכיהם בידך והאבדת את שמם מתחת השמים לא יתיצב איש בפניך עד השמדך אתם
καὶ παραδώσει τοὺς βασιλεῖς αὐτῶν εἰς τὰς χεῖρας ὑμῶν, καὶ ἀπολεῖται τὸ ὄνομα αὐτῶν ἐκ τοῦ τόπου ἐκείνου· οὐκ ἀντιστήσεται οὐδεὶς κατὰ πρόσωπόν σου, ἕως ἂν ἐξολεθρεύσῃς αὐτούς.
—— Septuagint (LXX) ——he will deliver their kings into your hands, and their name will perish from that place ⓘ: no one will withstand you, until you have exterminated them.—— Masoretic (MT) ——and he will give their kings into your handⓘ, and you shall blot out their nameⓘ from under the heavens: no one shall stand firmⓘ before you, until you have destroyed them.

פסילי אלהיהם תשרפון באש לא תחמד כסף וזהב עליהם ולקחת לך פן תוקש בו כי תועבת יהוה אלהיך הוא
τὰ γλυπτὰ τῶν θεῶν αὐτῶν κατακαύσετε πυρί· οὐκ ἐπιθυμήσεις ἀργύριον οὐδὲ χρυσίον ἀπ’ αὐτῶν καὶ οὐ λήμψῃ σεαυτῷ, μὴ πταίσῃς δι’ αὐτό, ὅτι βδέλυγμα κυρίῳ τῷ θεῷ σού ἐστιν·
The carved imagesⓘ of their gods you shall give to the flames in the fire: you shall not covetⓘ the silver and the gold that is on them nor take it for yourself, lest you be ensnaredⓘ by it, for it is an abominationⓘ to the Tetragrammaton your God.

ולא תביא תועבה אל ביתך והיית חרם כמהו שקץ תשקצנו ותעב תתעבנו כי חרם הוא
καὶ οὐκ εἰσοίσεις βδέλυγμα εἰς τὸν οἶκόν σου καὶ ἔσῃ ἀνάθημα ὥσπερ τοῦτο· προσοχθίσματι προσοχθιεῖς καὶ βδελύγματι βδελύξῃ, ὅτι ἀνάθημά ἐστιν.
And you shall not bring an abominationⓘ into your house, lest you become devoted to destructionⓘ like it: you shall utterly abhor itⓘ and utterly detest itⓘ, for it is devoted to destructionⓘ.
