ויקרא משה אל כל ישראל ויאמר אלהם שמע ישראל את החקים ואת המשפטים אשר אנכי דבר באזניכם היום ולמדתם אתם ושמרתם לעשתם
Καὶ ἐκάλεσεν Μωϋσῆς πάντα Ισραηλ καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτούς Ἄκουε, Ισραηλ, τὰ δικαιώματα καὶ τὰ κρίματα, ὅσα ἐγὼ λαλῶ ἐν τοῖς ὠσὶν ὑμῶν ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ταύτῃ, καὶ μαθήσεσθε αὐτὰ καὶ φυλάξεσθε ποιεῖν αὐτά.
And Mosheh summonedⓘ all Israel and said to them: Hear, O Israelⓘ, the statutesⓘ and the ordinances of judgmentⓘ which I speak in your earsⓘ today: learn them and keep them in order to put them into practiceⓘ.

יהוה אלהינו כרת עמנו ברית בחרב
κύριος ὁ θεὸς ὑμῶν διέθετο πρὸς ὑμᾶς διαθήκην ἐν Χωρηβ·
The Tetragrammaton our God made a covenant with usⓘ at Horebⓘ.

לא את אבתינו כרת יהוה את הברית הזאת כי אתנו אנחנו אלה פה היום כלנו חיים
οὐχὶ τοῖς πατράσιν ὑμῶν διέθετο κύριος τὴν διαθήκην ταύτην, ἀλλ’ ἢ πρὸς ὑμᾶς, ὑμεῖς ὧδε πάντες ζῶντες σήμερον·
Not with our fathersⓘ did the Tetragrammaton make this covenant, but with us, we who are here today, all aliveⓘ.

פנים בפנים דבר יהוה עמכם בהר מתוך האש
πρόσωπον κατὰ πρόσωπον ἐλάλησεν κύριος πρὸς ὑμᾶς ἐν τῷ ὄρει ἐκ μέσου τοῦ πυρός –
Face to faceⓘ the Tetragrammaton spoke with you on the mountain, out of the midst of the fireⓘ.

אנכי עמד בין יהוה וביניכם בעת ההוא להגיד לכם את דבר יהוה כי יראתם מפני האש ולא עליתם בהר לאמר
κἀγὼ εἱστήκειν ἀνὰ μέσον κυρίου καὶ ὑμῶν ἐν τῷ καιρῷ ἐκείνῳ ἀναγγεῖλαι ὑμῖν τὰ ῥήματα κυρίου, ὅτι ἐφοβήθητε ἀπὸ προσώπου τοῦ πυρὸς καὶ οὐκ ἀνέβητε εἰς τὸ ὄρος – λέγων
I was standingⓘ between the Tetragrammaton and youⓘ at that time, to declare to youⓘ the word of the Tetragrammaton, for you were afraidⓘ before the fire and did not go up the mountain; and he said:

אנכי יהוה אלהיך אשר הוצאתיך מארץ מצרים מבית עבדים
Ἐγὼ κύριος ὁ θεός σου ὁ ἐξαγαγών σε ἐκ γῆς Αἰγύπτου ἐξ οἴκου δουλείας.
I am the Tetragrammaton your God, who brought you outⓘ from the land of Egypt, from the house of slavesⓘ.

לא יהיה לך אלהים אחרים על פני
οὐκ ἔσονταί σοι θεοὶ ἕτεροι πρὸ προσώπου μου. –
You shall have no other godsⓘ before meⓘ.
8
לא תעשה לך פסל כל תמונה אשר בשמים ממעל ואשר בארץ מתחת ואשר במים מתחת לארץ
οὐ ποιήσεις σεαυτῷ εἴδωλον οὐδὲ παντὸς ὁμοίωμα, ὅσα ἐν τῷ οὐρανῷ ἄνω καὶ ὅσα ἐν τῇ γῇ κάτω καὶ ὅσα ἐν τοῖς ὕδασιν ὑποκάτω τῆς γῆς.
You shall not make for yourself a carved imageⓘ, nor any likenessⓘ of what is in the heavens aboveⓘ or on the earth below or in the waters under the earth.

לא תשתחוה להם ולא תעבדם כי אנכי יהוה אלהיך אל קנא פקד עון אבות על בנים ועל שלשים ועל רבעים לשנאי
οὐ προσκυνήσεις αὐτοῖς οὐδὲ μὴ λατρεύσῃς αὐτοῖς, ὅτι ἐγώ εἰμι κύριος ὁ θεός σου, θεὸς ζηλωτὴς ἀποδιδοὺς ἁμαρτίας πατέρων ἐπὶ τέκνα ἐπὶ τρίτην καὶ τετάρτην γενεὰν τοῖς μισοῦσίν με
You shall not bow downⓘ before them and shall not serveⓘ them, for I am the Tetragrammaton your jealous Godⓘ, who visitsⓘ the guilt of the fathers upon the sonsⓘ, upon the third and the fourth generation of those who hate meⓘ,

ועשה חסד לאלפים לאהבי ולשמרי מצותו מצותי
καὶ ποιῶν ἔλεος εἰς χιλιάδας τοῖς ἀγαπῶσίν με καὶ τοῖς φυλάσσουσιν τὰ προστάγματά μου. –
and show mercyⓘ to a thousand generationsⓘ toward those who love me and keep my commandmentsⓘ.

לא תשא את שם יהוה אלהיך לשוא כי לא ינקה יהוה את אשר ישא את שמו לשוא
οὐ λήμψῃ τὸ ὄνομα κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ σου ἐπὶ ματαίῳ· οὐ γὰρ μὴ καθαρίσῃ κύριος τὸν λαμβάνοντα τὸ ὄνομα αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ ματαίῳ. –
You shall not take in vainⓘ the Name of the Tetragrammaton your Godⓘ, for the Tetragrammaton will not leave unpunishedⓘ whoever takes his Name in vain.

שמור את יום השבת לקדשו כאשר צוך יהוה אלהיך
φύλαξαι τὴν ἡμέραν τῶν σαββάτων ἁγιάζειν αὐτήν, ὃν τρόπον ἐνετείλατό σοι κύριος ὁ θεός σου.
Observeⓘ the sabbath dayⓘ to sanctify itⓘ, as he commanded youⓘ the Tetragrammaton your God.

ששת ימים תעבד ועשית כל מלאכתך
ἓξ ἡμέρας ἐργᾷ καὶ ποιήσεις πάντα τὰ ἔργα σου·
Six daysⓘ you shall labor and do all your workⓘ.
14
ויום השביעי שבת ליהוה אלהיך לא תעשה כל מלאכה אתה ובנך ובתך ועבדך ואמתך ושורך וחמרך וכל בהמתך וגרך אשר בשעריך למען ינוח עבדך ואמתך כמוך
τῇ δὲ ἡμέρᾳ τῇ ἑβδόμῃ σάββατα κυρίῳ τῷ θεῷ σου, οὐ ποιήσεις ἐν αὐτῇ πᾶν ἔργον, σὺ καὶ οἱ υἱοί σου καὶ ἡ θυγάτηρ σου, ὁ παῖς σου καὶ ἡ παιδίσκη σου, ὁ βοῦς σου καὶ τὸ ὑποζύγιόν σου καὶ πᾶν κτῆνός σου καὶ ὁ προσήλυτος ὁ παροικῶν ἐν σοί, ἵνα ἀναπαύσηται ὁ παῖς σου καὶ ἡ παιδίσκη σου ὥσπερ καὶ σύ·
—— Septuagint (LXX) ——but the seventh day is Shabbàt to the Tetragrammaton your God: you shall do no work in it, neither you, nor your sons, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your ox, nor your beast of burden, nor any of your animals, nor the proselyte ⓘ who dwells with you ⓘ, so that your male servant and your female servant may rest as you do.—— Masoretic (MT) ——But the seventh dayⓘ is a sabbath to the Tetragrammaton your Godⓘ: you shall do no work, you, your son and your daughter, your male servant and your female servant, your ox and your donkeyⓘ and all your cattle, and the sojournerⓘ who is within your gates, so that they may restⓘ your male servant and your female servant as you doⓘ.

וזכרת כי עבד היית בארץ מצרים ויצאך יהוה אלהיך משם ביד חזקה ובזרע נטויה על כן צוך יהוה אלהיך לעשות את יום השבת
καὶ μνησθήσῃ ὅτι οἰκέτης ἦσθα ἐν γῇ Αἰγύπτῳ καὶ ἐξήγαγέν σε κύριος ὁ θεός σου ἐκεῖθεν ἐν χειρὶ κραταιᾷ καὶ ἐν βραχίονι ὑψηλῷ, διὰ τοῦτο συνέταξέν σοι κύριος ὁ θεός σου ὥστε φυλάσσεσθαι τὴν ἡμέραν τῶν σαββάτων καὶ ἁγιάζειν αὐτήν. –
—— Septuagint (LXX) ——And you shall remember that you yourself were a slave in the land of Egypt and that the Tetragrammaton your God brought you out from there with a mighty hand and an uplifted arm: therefore the Tetragrammaton your God has commanded you to **keep the day of sabbaths and to sanctify it ⓘ**.—— Masoretic (MT) ——And you shall rememberⓘ that you were a slaveⓘ in the land of Egypt, and the Tetragrammaton your God brought you out from there with a mighty hand and an outstretched armⓘ; therefore the Tetragrammaton your God has commanded you to observeⓘ the sabbath day.

כבד את אביך ואת אמך כאשר צוך יהוה אלהיך למען יאריכן ימיך ולמען ייטב לך על האדמה אשר יהוה אלהיך נתן לך
τίμα τὸν πατέρα σου καὶ τὴν μητέρα σου, ὃν τρόπον ἐνετείλατό σοι κύριος ὁ θεός σου, ἵνα εὖ σοι γένηται, καὶ ἵνα μακροχρόνιος γένῃ ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς, ἧς κύριος ὁ θεός σου δίδωσίν σοι. –
—— Septuagint (LXX) ——Honor your father and your mother, in the way the Tetragrammaton your God has commanded you, so that it may be well with you ⓘ, and so that you may be **long-lived ⓘ upon the land that the Tetragrammaton** your God gives you.—— Masoretic (MT) ——Honorⓘ your father and your mother, as the Tetragrammaton your God has commanded you, so that your days may be prolongedⓘ and that it may go well with youⓘ upon the landⓘ that the Tetragrammaton your God gives you.

לא תרצח
οὐ μοιχεύσεις. –
You shall not killⓘ.
18
ולא תנאף
οὐ φονεύσεις. –
And you shall not commit adulteryⓘ.
19
ולא תגנב
οὐ κλέψεις. –
And you shall not stealⓘ.
20
ולא תענה ברעך עד שוא
οὐ ψευδομαρτυρήσεις κατὰ τοῦ πλησίον σου μαρτυρίαν ψευδῆ. –
And you shall not bear false witness against your neighborⓘ.
21
ולא תחמד אשת רעך ולא תתאוה בית רעך שדהו ועבדו ואמתו שורו וחמרו וכל אשר לרעך
οὐκ ἐπιθυμήσεις τὴν γυναῖκα τοῦ πλησίον σου. οὐκ ἐπιθυμήσεις τὴν οἰκίαν τοῦ πλησίον σου οὔτε τὸν ἀγρὸν αὐτοῦ οὔτε τὸν παῖδα αὐτοῦ οὔτε τὴν παιδίσκην αὐτοῦ οὔτε τοῦ βοὸς αὐτοῦ οὔτε τοῦ ὑποζυγίου αὐτοῦ οὔτε παντὸς κτήνους αὐτοῦ οὔτε ὅσα τῷ πλησίον σού ἐστιν.
And you shall not desire your neighbor's wifeⓘ, and you shall not covetⓘ your neighbor's house, his field, his male servant and his female servant, his ox and his donkey, and anything that is your neighbor'sⓘ.

את הדברים האלה דבר יהוה אל כל קהלכם בהר מתוך האש הענן והערפל קול גדול ולא יסף ויכתבם על שני לחת אבנים ויתנם אלי
Τὰ ῥήματα ταῦτα ἐλάλησεν κύριος πρὸς πᾶσαν συναγωγὴν ὑμῶν ἐν τῷ ὄρει ἐκ μέσου τοῦ πυρός, σκότος, γνόφος, θύελλα, φωνὴ μεγάλη, καὶ οὐ προσέθηκεν· καὶ ἔγραψεν αὐτὰ ἐπὶ δύο πλάκας λιθίνας καὶ ἔδωκέν μοι.
—— Septuagint (LXX) ——These words the Tetragrammaton spoke to your whole assembly, on the mountain, out of the midst of the fire: darkness ⓘ, gloom, tempest ⓘ, a great voice — and he added nothing more; and he wrote them on two tablets of stone and gave them to me.—— Masoretic (MT) ——These wordsⓘ the Tetragrammaton pronounced to your whole assemblyⓘ on the mountain, out of the midst of the fire, to the cloud and to the gloomⓘ, with a great voice, and he added nothing moreⓘ; and he wrote them on two tablets of stoneⓘ and gave them to me.

ויהי כשמעכם את הקול מתוך החשך וההר בער באש ותקרבון אלי כל ראשי שבטיכם וזקניכם
καὶ ἐγένετο ὡς ἠκούσατε τὴν φωνὴν ἐκ μέσου τοῦ πυρὸς καὶ τὸ ὄρος ἐκαίετο πυρί, καὶ προσήλθετε πρός με, πάντες οἱ ἡγούμενοι τῶν φυλῶν ὑμῶν καὶ ἡ γερουσία ὑμῶν,
And it came to pass, when you heard the voiceⓘ out of the midst of the darknessⓘ, while the mountain was burning with fireⓘ, you drew near to me, all the heads of your tribesⓘ and your eldersⓘ,
24
ותאמרו הן הראנו יהוה אלהינו את כבדו ואת גדלו ואת קלו שמענו מתוך האש היום הזה ראינו כי ידבר אלהים את האדם וחי
καὶ ἐλέγετε Ἰδοὺ ἔδειξεν ἡμῖν κύριος ὁ θεὸς ἡμῶν τὴν δόξαν αὐτοῦ, καὶ τὴν φωνὴν αὐτοῦ ἠκούσαμεν ἐκ μέσου τοῦ πυρός· ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ταύτῃ εἴδομεν ὅτι λαλήσει ὁ θεὸς πρὸς ἄνθρωπον, καὶ ζήσεται.
and you said: Behold, the Tetragrammaton our God has shown us his gloryⓘ and his greatnessⓘ, and we have heard his voice out of the midst of the fire; on this day we have seen that God speaks with man and he livesⓘ.
25
ועתה למה נמות כי תאכלנו האש הגדלה הזאת אם יספים אנחנו לשמע את קול יהוה אלהינו עוד ומתנו
καὶ νῦν μὴ ἀποθάνωμεν, ὅτι ἐξαναλώσει ἡμᾶς τὸ πῦρ τὸ μέγα τοῦτο, ἐὰν προσθώμεθα ἡμεῖς ἀκοῦσαι τὴν φωνὴν κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ ἡμῶν ἔτι, καὶ ἀποθανούμεθα.
And now, why should we die?ⓘ For this great fire will devour usⓘ; if we continue to hearⓘ the voice of the Tetragrammaton our God any longer, we shall die.
26
כי מי כל בשר אשר שמע קול אלהים חיים מדבר מתוך האש כמנו ויחי
τίς γὰρ σάρξ, ἥτις ἤκουσεν φωνὴν θεοῦ ζῶντος λαλοῦντος ἐκ μέσου τοῦ πυρὸς ὡς ἡμεῖς καὶ ζήσεται;
For who of all fleshⓘ has ever heard the voice of the living Godⓘ speakingⓘ out of the midst of the fire as we have, and remained alive?
27
קרב אתה ושמע את כל אשר יאמר יהוה אלהינו ואת תדבר אלינו את כל אשר ידבר יהוה אלהינו אליך ושמענו ועשינו
πρόσελθε σὺ καὶ ἄκουσον ὅσα ἐὰν εἴπῃ κύριος ὁ θεὸς ἡμῶν, καὶ σὺ λαλήσεις πρὸς ἡμᾶς πάντα, ὅσα ἂν λαλήσῃ κύριος ὁ θεὸς ἡμῶν πρὸς σέ, καὶ ἀκουσόμεθα καὶ ποιήσομεν.
Draw near, youⓘ and hear all that the Tetragrammaton our God will say; and you will report to us all that the Tetragrammaton our God will say to you, and we will hear and doⓘ.

וישמע יהוה את קול דבריכם בדברכם אלי ויאמר יהוה אלי שמעתי את קול דברי העם הזה אשר דברו אליך היטיבו כל אשר דברו
καὶ ἤκουσεν κύριος τὴν φωνὴν τῶν λόγων ὑμῶν λαλούντων πρός με, καὶ εἶπεν κύριος πρός με Ἤκουσα τὴν φωνὴν τῶν λόγων τοῦ λαοῦ τούτου, ὅσα ἐλάλησαν πρὸς σέ· ὀρθῶς πάντα, ὅσα ἐλάλησαν.
And the Tetragrammaton heardⓘ the sound of your words when you spoke to me, and the Tetragrammaton said to me: I have heard the sound of the words of this people which they have addressed to you; they have done well in all that they have saidⓘ.

מי יתן והיה לבבם זה להם ליראה אתי ולשמר את כל מצותי כל הימים למען ייטב להם ולבניהם לעלם
τίς δώσει οὕτως εἶναι τὴν καρδίαν αὐτῶν ἐν αὐτοῖς ὥστε φοβεῖσθαί με καὶ φυλάσσεσθαι τὰς ἐντολάς μου πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας, ἵνα εὖ ᾖ αὐτοῖς καὶ τοῖς υἱοῖς αὐτῶν δι’ αἰῶνος;
Oh, that they had such a heartⓘ, to fear meⓘ and keep all my commandments all the daysⓘ, so that it may be well with them and with their children foreverⓘ.

לך אמר להם שובו לכם לאהליכם
βάδισον εἰπὸν αὐτοῖς Ἀποστράφητε ὑμεῖς εἰς τοὺς οἴκους ὑμῶν·
Go, say to themⓘ: Return to your tentsⓘ.
31
ואתה פה עמד עמדי ואדברה אליך את כל המצוה והחקים והמשפטים אשר תלמדם ועשו בארץ אשר אנכי נתן להם לרשתה
σὺ δὲ αὐτοῦ στῆθι μετ’ ἐμοῦ, καὶ λαλήσω πρὸς σὲ τὰς ἐντολὰς καὶ τὰ δικαιώματα καὶ τὰ κρίματα, ὅσα διδάξεις αὐτούς, καὶ ποιείτωσαν ἐν τῇ γῇ, ἣν ἐγὼ δίδωμι αὐτοῖς ἐν κλήρῳ.
But you, stand here by meⓘ, and I will tell you all the commandmentⓘ, the statutes and the ordinances of judgment that you shall teach them, so that they may put them into practiceⓘ in the land that I give them to possessⓘ.

ושמרתם לעשות כאשר צוה יהוה אלהיכם אתכם לא תסרו ימין ושמאל
καὶ φυλάξεσθε ποιεῖν ὃν τρόπον ἐνετείλατό σοι κύριος ὁ θεός σου· οὐκ ἐκκλινεῖτε εἰς δεξιὰ οὐδὲ εἰς ἀριστερὰ
You shall therefore keep to put into practiceⓘ what the Tetragrammaton your God has commanded you; you shall not turn aside to the right or to the leftⓘ.
33
בכל הדרך אשר צוה יהוה אלהיכם אתכם תלכו למען תחיון וטוב לכם והארכתם ימים בארץ אשר תירשון
κατὰ πᾶσαν τὴν ὁδόν, ἣν ἐνετείλατό σοι κύριος ὁ θεός σου πορεύεσθαι ἐν αὐτῇ, ὅπως καταπαύσῃ σε καὶ εὖ σοι ᾖ καὶ μακροημερεύσητε ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς, ἧς κληρονομήσετε.
—— Septuagint (LXX) ——Walk according to the whole way that the Tetragrammaton your God has commanded you to follow, so that he may give you rest ⓘ and that it may be well with you, and that you may prolong your days upon the land that you will possess in inheritance.—— Masoretic (MT) ——In all the wayⓘ that the Tetragrammaton your God has commanded you, you shall walk, so that you may liveⓘ and it may be well with you and you may prolong your daysⓘ in the land that you will possessⓘ.
