הדבר אשר דבר יהוה אל בבל אל ארץ כשדים ביד ירמיהו הנביא
Καὶ ἐγενήθη ὡς ἐπαύσατο Ιερεμιας λέγων πρὸς τὸν λαὸν πάντας τοὺς λόγους κυρίου, οὓς ἀπέστειλεν αὐτὸν κύριος πρὸς αὐτούς, πάντας τοὺς λόγους τούτους,
The word that the Tetragrammaton pronounced against Bavèlⓘ, against the land of the Chaldeansⓘ, through Yirmeyàhuⓘ the prophet.

הגידו בגוים והשמיעו ושאו נס השמיעו אל תכחדו אמרו נלכדה בבל הביש בל חת מרדך הבישו עצביה חתו גלוליה
καὶ εἶπεν Αζαριας υἱὸς Μαασαιου καὶ Ιωαναν υἱὸς Καρηε καὶ πάντες οἱ ἄνδρες οἱ εἴπαντες τῷ Ιερεμια λέγοντες Ψεύδη, οὐκ ἀπέστειλέν σε κύριος πρὸς ἡμᾶς λέγων Μὴ εἰσέλθητε εἰς Αἴγυπτον οἰκεῖν ἐκεῖ,
Proclaim it among the nations and make it heard, raise a bannerⓘ, make it heard, do not conceal it! Say: «Bavèl is takenⓘ, Bel is put to shameⓘ, Merodàkhⓘ is shattered; her idols are put to shame, her fetishesⓘ are shattered».

כי עלה עליה גוי מצפון הוא ישית את ארצה לשמה ולא יהיה יושב בה מאדם ועד בהמה נדו הלכו
ἀλλ’ ἢ Βαρουχ υἱὸς Νηριου συμβάλλει σε πρὸς ἡμᾶς, ἵνα δῷς ἡμᾶς εἰς χεῖρας τῶν Χαλδαίων τοῦ θανατῶσαι ἡμᾶς καὶ ἀποικισθῆναι ἡμᾶς εἰς Βαβυλῶνα.
For against her has come up a nation from the northⓘ: it will make her land a desolation, and there will no longer be anyone to dwell in it; both man and beast have fled, they have gone away.

בימים ההמה ובעת ההיא נאם יהוה יבאו בני ישראל המה ובני יהודה יחדו הלוך ובכו ילכו ואת יהוה אלהיהם יבקשו
καὶ οὐκ ἤκουσεν Ιωαναν καὶ πάντες οἱ ἡγεμόνες τῆς δυνάμεως καὶ πᾶς ὁ λαὸς τῆς φωνῆς κυρίου κατοικῆσαι ἐν γῇ Ιουδα.
In those days and in that time — oracle of the Tetragrammaton — the sons of Israel will come, they and the sons of Judah together; they will walk weeping and will seek the Tetragrammaton their God.

ציון ישאלו דרך הנה פניהם באו ונלוו אל יהוה ברית עולם לא תשכח
καὶ ἔλαβεν Ιωαναν καὶ πάντες οἱ ἡγεμόνες τῆς δυνάμεως πάντας τοὺς καταλοίπους Ιουδα τοὺς ἀποστρέψαντας κατοικεῖν ἐν τῇ γῇ,
They will ask the way to Tziyònⓘ, there they will turn their faces: «Come, let us join ourselves to the Tetragrammaton in an eternal covenantⓘ that will not be forgotten».

צאן אבדות היה היו עמי רעיהם התעום הרים שובבים שובבום מהר אל גבעה הלכו שכחו רבצם
τοὺς δυνατοὺς ἄνδρας καὶ τὰς γυναῖκας καὶ τὰ νήπια καὶ τὰς θυγατέρας τοῦ βασιλέως καὶ τὰς ψυχάς, ἃς κατέλιπεν Ναβουζαρδαν μετὰ Γοδολιου υἱοῦ Αχικαμ, καὶ Ιερεμιαν τὸν προφήτην καὶ Βαρουχ υἱὸν Νηριου
Lost flocksⓘ is what my people has been: their shepherds led them astrayⓘ, on the mountains they led them astray; from mountain to hill they have gone, they have forgotten their fold.

כל מוצאיהם אכלום וצריהם אמרו לא נאשם תחת אשר חטאו ליהוה נוה צדק ומקוה אבותיהם יהוה
καὶ εἰσῆλθον εἰς Αἴγυπτον, ὅτι οὐκ ἤκουσαν τῆς φωνῆς κυρίου· καὶ εἰσῆλθον εἰς Ταφνας.
All who found them devoured them, and their adversaries said: «We are not guilty, for they have sinned against the Tetragrammaton, abode of righteousnessⓘ and hope of their fathers, the Tetragrammaton».

נדו מתוך בבל ומארץ כשדים יצאו צאו והיו כעתודים לפני צאן
Καὶ ἐγένετο λόγος κυρίου πρὸς Ιερεμιαν ἐν Ταφνας λέγων
Flee from the midst of Bavèl, come out from the land of the Chaldeans, and be like he-goatsⓘ before the flock.

כי הנה אנכי מעיר ומעלה על בבל קהל גוים גדלים מארץ צפון וערכו לה משם תלכד חציו כגבור משכיל לא ישוב ריקם
Λαβὲ σεαυτῷ λίθους μεγάλους καὶ κατάκρυψον αὐτοὺς ἐν προθύροις ἐν πύλῃ τῆς οἰκίας Φαραω ἐν Ταφνας κατ’ ὀφθαλμοὺς ἀνδρῶν Ιουδα
For behold, I am stirring up and bringing against Bavèl an assembly of great nations from the land of the north; they will array themselves against her, from there she will be taken. His arrows are like those of a skilled warriorⓘ who does not return empty-handed.

והיתה כשדים לשלל כל שלליה ישבעו נאם יהוה
καὶ ἐρεῖς Οὕτως εἶπεν κύριος Ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἀποστέλλω καὶ ἄξω Ναβουχοδονοσορ βασιλέα Βαβυλῶνος, καὶ θήσει αὐτοῦ τὸν θρόνον ἐπάνω τῶν λίθων τούτων, ὧν κατέκρυψας, καὶ ἀρεῖ τὰ ὅπλα αὐτοῦ ἐπ’ αὐτοὺς
The Chaldeaⓘ will be given over to plunder; all her plunderers will be satisfied — oracle of the Tetragrammaton.

כי תשמחי תשמחו כי תעלזי תעלזו שסי נחלתי כי תפושי תפושו כעגלה דשה ותצהלי ותצהלו כאברים
καὶ εἰσελεύσεται καὶ πατάξει γῆν Αἰγύπτου, οὓς εἰς θάνατον, εἰς θάνατον, καὶ οὓς εἰς ἀποικισμόν, εἰς ἀποικισμόν, καὶ οὕς εἰς ῥομφαίαν, εἰς ῥομφαίαν.
Because you rejoice, because you exult, you who plunder my inheritanceⓘ, because you frisk about like a heifer that treads grainⓘ and neigh like stallions?

בושה אמכם מאד חפרה יולדתכם הנה אחרית גוים מדבר ציה וערבה
καὶ καύσει πῦρ ἐν οἰκίαις θεῶν αὐτῶν καὶ ἐμπυριεῖ αὐτὰς καὶ ἀποικιεῖ αὐτοὺς καὶ φθειριεῖ γῆν Αἰγύπτου, ὥσπερ φθειρίζει ποιμὴν τὸ ἱμάτιον αὐτοῦ, καὶ ἐξελεύσεται ἐν εἰρήνῃ.
Your mother is deeply ashamed, she who bore you is covered with confusion: behold, the last of the nations, a wilderness, a dry land and a desert.

מקצף יהוה לא תשב והיתה שממה כלה כל עבר על בבל ישם וישרק על כל מכותיה
καὶ συντρίψει τοὺς στύλους Ἡλίου πόλεως τοὺς ἐν Ων καὶ τὰς οἰκίας αὐτῶν κατακαύσει ἐν πυρί.
Because of the wrath of the Tetragrammaton she will not be inhabited, but will be wholly a desolation; everyone who passes by Bavèl will be appalled and will whistleⓘ at all her wounds.
