משלי שלמה בן חכם ישמח אב ובן כסיל תוגת אמו
Υἱὸς σοφὸς εὐφραίνει πατέρα, υἱὸς δὲ ἄφρων λύπη τῇ μητρί.
ⓘ. A ⓘ gladdens his father, while a ⓘ son is ⓘ to his mother.

לא יועילו אוצרות רשע וצדקה תציל ממות
οὐκ ὠφελήσουσιν θησαυροὶ ἀνόμους, δικαιοσύνη δὲ ῥύσεται ἐκ θανάτου.
ⓘ are of no profit, but ⓘ delivers from death.

לא ירעיב יהוה נפש צדיק והות רשעים יהדף
οὐ λιμοκτονήσει κύριος ψυχὴν δικαίαν, ζωὴν δὲ ἀσεβῶν ἀνατρέψει.
The ⓘ does not let the ⓘ of the ⓘ hunger, but he thwarts the ⓘ of the wicked.

ראש עשה כף רמיה ויד חרוצים תעשיר
a υἱὸς πεπαιδευμένος σοφὸς ἔσται, τῷ δὲ ἄφρονι διακόνῳ χρήσεται.
ⓘ ⓘ, but the hand of the ⓘ brings wealth.

אגר בקיץ בן משכיל נרדם בקציר בן מביש
διεσώθη ἀπὸ καύματος υἱὸς νοήμων, ἀνεμόφθορος δὲ γίνεται ἐν ἀμήτῳ υἱὸς παράνομος.
He who gathers in summer is a ⓘ son; he who sleeps through the ⓘ is a son who brings shame.

ברכות לראש צדיק ופי רשעים יכסה חמס
εὐλογία κυρίου ἐπὶ κεφαλὴν δικαίου, στόμα δὲ ἀσεβῶν καλύψει πένθος ἄωρον.
ⓘ crown the head of the righteous, but the mouth of the wicked ⓘ.

זכר צדיק לברכה ושם רשעים ירקב
μνήμη δικαίων μετ’ ἐγκωμίων, ὄνομα δὲ ἀσεβοῦς σβέννυται.
The ⓘ, but the name of the wicked ⓘ.

חכם לב יקח מצות ואויל שפתים ילבט
σοφὸς καρδίᾳ δέξεται ἐντολάς, ὁ δὲ ἄστεγος χείλεσιν σκολιάζων ὑποσκελισθήσεται.
The ⓘ receives ⓘ, but the one foolish of lips ⓘ.

הולך בתם ילך בטח ומעקש דרכיו יודע
ὃς πορεύεται ἁπλῶς, πορεύεται πεποιθώς, ὁ δὲ διαστρέφων τὰς ὁδοὺς αὐτοῦ γνωσθήσεται.
He who walks in ⓘ walks securely, but he who ⓘ will be exposed.

קרץ עין יתן עצבת ואויל שפתים ילבט
ὁ ἐννεύων ὀφθαλμοῖς μετὰ δόλου συνάγει ἀνδράσι λύπας, ὁ δὲ ἐλέγχων μετὰ παρρησίας εἰρηνοποιεῖ.
He who ⓘ causes grief, and the one foolish of lips will be overthrown.

מקור חיים פי צדיק ופי רשעים יכסה חמס
πηγὴ ζωῆς ἐν χειρὶ δικαίου, στόμα δὲ ἀσεβοῦς καλύψει ἀπώλεια.
ⓘ is the mouth of the righteous, but the mouth of the wicked conceals violence.

שנאה תעורר מדנים ועל כל פשעים תכסה אהבה
μῖσος ἐγείρει νεῖκος, πάντας δὲ τοὺς μὴ φιλονεικοῦντας καλύπτει φιλία.
ⓘ stirs up ⓘ, but over all offences ⓘ.

בשפתי נבון תמצא חכמה ושבט לגו חסר לב
ὃς ἐκ χειλέων προφέρει σοφίαν, ῥάβδῳ τύπτει ἄνδρα ἀκάρδιον.
On the lips of the ⓘ wisdom is found, but the ⓘ is for the back of him who ⓘ.

חכמים יצפנו דעת ופי אויל מחתה קרבה
σοφοὶ κρύψουσιν αἴσθησιν, στόμα δὲ προπετοῦς ἐγγίζει συντριβῇ.
The wise ⓘ knowledge, but the mouth of the fool is imminent ruin.

הון עשיר קרית עזו מחתת דלים רישם
κτῆσις πλουσίων πόλις ὀχυρά, συντριβὴ δὲ ἀσεβῶν πενία.
A rich man's wealth is his ⓘ, but the ruin of the ⓘ is their poverty.
16
פעלת צדיק לחיים תבואת רשע לחטאת
ἔργα δικαίων ζωὴν ποιεῖ, καρποὶ δὲ ἀσεβῶν ἁμαρτίας.
The ⓘ of the righteous lead to life, but the produce of the wicked leads to sin.
17
ארח לחיים שומר מוסר ועוזב תוכחת מתעה
ὁδοὺς δικαίας ζωῆς φυλάσσει παιδεία, παιδεία δὲ ἀνεξέλεγκτος πλανᾶται.
He who keeps ⓘ is a ⓘ, but he who forsakes ⓘ goes astray.

מכסה שנאה שפתי שקר ומוצא דבה הוא כסיל
καλύπτουσιν ἔχθραν χείλη δίκαια, οἱ δὲ ἐκφέροντες λοιδορίας ἀφρονέστατοί εἰσιν.
Whoever conceals hatred has lying lips, and whoever spreads ⓘ is a fool.

ברב דברים לא יחדל פשע וחשך שפתיו משכיל
ἐκ πολυλογίας οὐκ ἐκφεύξῃ ἁμαρτίαν, φειδόμενος δὲ χειλέων νοήμων ἔσῃ.
In ⓘ transgression is not lacking, but he who ⓘ is prudent.

כסף נבחר לשון צדיק לב רשעים כמעט
ἄργυρος πεπυρωμένος γλῶσσα δικαίου, καρδία δὲ ἀσεβοῦς ἐκλείψει.
ⓘ is the tongue of the righteous, but the heart of the wicked is worth ⓘ.
21
שפתי צדיק ירעו רבים ואוילים בחסר לב ימותו
χείλη δικαίων ἐπίσταται ὑψηλά, οἱ δὲ ἄφρονες ἐν ἐνδείᾳ τελευτῶσιν.
The lips of the righteous ⓘ many, but fools die for lack of sense.

ברכת יהוה היא תעשיר ולא יוסף עצב עמה
εὐλογία κυρίου ἐπὶ κεφαλὴν δικαίου· αὕτη πλουτίζει, καὶ οὐ μὴ προστεθῇ αὐτῇ λύπη ἐν καρδίᾳ.
The ⓘ, and he ⓘ.

כשחוק לכסיל עשות זמה וחכמה לאיש תבונה
ἐν γέλωτι ἄφρων πράσσει κακά, ἡ δὲ σοφία ἀνδρὶ τίκτει φρόνησιν.
It is like ⓘ to a fool to do ⓘ, while wisdom is delight to a man of understanding.

מגורת רשע היא תבואנו ותאות צדיקים יתן
ἐν ἀπωλείᾳ ἀσεβὴς περιφέρεται, ἐπιθυμία δὲ δικαίου δεκτή.
What the wicked ⓘ will come upon him, but the ⓘ of the righteous will be granted.

כעבור סופה ואין רשע וצדיק יסוד עולם
παραπορευομένης καταιγίδος ἀφανίζεται ἀσεβής, δίκαιος δὲ ἐκκλίνας σῴζεται εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα.
When the ⓘ passes, the wicked is no more, but the righteous is a ⓘ.
26
כחמץ לשנים וכעשן לעינים כן העצל לשלחיו
ὥσπερ ὄμφαξ ὀδοῦσι βλαβερὸν καὶ καπνὸς ὄμμασιν, οὕτως παρανομία τοῖς χρωμένοις αὐτήν.
Like ⓘ to the teeth and smoke to the eyes, so is the ⓘ to those who send him.

יראת יהוה תוסיף ימים ושנות רשעים תקצרנה
φόβος κυρίου προστίθησιν ἡμέρας, ἔτη δὲ ἀσεβῶν ὀλιγωθήσεται.
The ⓘ, but the years of the wicked are cut short.
28
תוחלת צדיקים שמחה ותקות רשעים תאבד
ἐγχρονίζει δικαίοις εὐφροσύνη, ἐλπὶς δὲ ἀσεβῶν ὄλλυται.
The hope of the righteous is ⓘ, but the expectation of the wicked ⓘ.
29
מעוז לתם דרך יהוה ומחתה לפעלי און
ὀχύρωμα ὁσίου φόβος κυρίου, συντριβὴ δὲ τοῖς ἐργαζομένοις κακά.
ⓘ is the way of the ⓘ, but ruin for those who work iniquity.
30
צדיק לעולם בל ימוט ורשעים לא ישכנו ארץ
δίκαιος τὸν αἰῶνα οὐκ ἐνδώσει, ἀσεβεῖς δὲ οὐκ οἰκήσουσιν γῆν.
The righteous will never ⓘ, but the wicked will not ⓘ the land.

פי צדיק ינוב חכמה ולשון תהפכות תכרת
στόμα δικαίου ἀποστάζει σοφίαν, γλῶσσα δὲ ἀδίκου ἐξολεῖται.
The mouth of the righteous ⓘ wisdom, but the ⓘ tongue will be cut off.
32
שפתי צדיק ידעון רצון ופי רשעים תהפכות
χείλη ἀνδρῶν δικαίων ἀποστάζει χάριτας, στόμα δὲ ἀσεβῶν ἀποστρέφεται.
The lips of the righteous know what is ⓘ, but the mouth of the wicked is ⓘ.
