הנה יהוה בוקק הארץ ובולקה ועוה פניה והפיץ ישביה
Ἰδοὺ κύριος καταφθείρει τὴν οἰκουμένην καὶ ἐρημώσει αὐτὴν καὶ ἀνακαλύψει τὸ πρόσωπον αὐτῆς καὶ διασπερεῖ τοὺς ἐνοικοῦντας ἐν αὐτῇ.
Behold, the Tetragrammatonⓘ emptiesⓘ the land and devastates it, overturns its face and scatters its inhabitants.

והיה כעם ככהן כעבד כאדניו כשפחה כגברתה כקונה כמוכר כמלוה כלוה כנשה כאשר נשא בו
καὶ ἔσται ὁ λαὸς ὡς ὁ ἱερεὺς καὶ ὁ παῖς ὡς ὁ κύριος καὶ ἡ θεράπαινα ὡς ἡ κυρία, ἔσται ὁ ἀγοράζων ὡς ὁ πωλῶν καὶ ὁ δανείζων ὡς ὁ δανειζόμενος καὶ ὁ ὀφείλων ὡς ᾧ ὀφείλει.
And it will be as with the people so with the priestⓘ, as with the slave so with his master, as with the maidservant so with her mistress, the buyer as the seller, the lender as the borrower, the creditor as the debtor.

הבוק תבוק הארץ והבוז תבוז כי יהוה דבר את הדבר הזה
φθορᾷ φθαρήσεται ἡ γῆ, καὶ προνομῇ προνομευθήσεται ἡ γῆ· τὸ γὰρ στόμα κυρίου ἐλάλησεν ταῦτα.
Emptying it shall be emptiedⓘ and plundering it shall be plundered, for ⟦the Tetragrammaton⟧ has spoken this word.

אבלה נבלה הארץ אמללה נבלה תבל אמללו מרום עם הארץ
ἐπένθησεν ἡ γῆ, καὶ ἐφθάρη ἡ οἰκουμένη, ἐπένθησαν οἱ ὑψηλοὶ τῆς γῆς.
The land mourns, languishesⓘ; the worldⓘ languishes in confusion, the proud ones of the earth's people are confused.

והארץ חנפה תחת ישביה כי עברו תורת חלפו חק הפרו ברית עולם
ἡ δὲ γῆ ἠνόμησεν διὰ τοὺς κατοικοῦντας αὐτήν, διότι παρέβησαν τὸν νόμον καὶ ἤλλαξαν τὰ προστάγματα, διαθήκην αἰώνιον.
And the land is defiled under its inhabitants, for they have transgressed the instructionsⓘ, altered the statute, broken the eternal covenantⓘ.

על כן אלה אכלה ארץ ויאשמו ישבי בה על כן חרו ישבי ארץ ונשאר אנוש מזער
διὰ τοῦτο ἀρὰ ἔδεται τὴν γῆν, ὅτι ἡμάρτοσαν οἱ κατοικοῦντες αὐτήν· διὰ τοῦτο πτωχοὶ ἔσονται οἱ ἐνοικοῦντες ἐν τῇ γῇ, καὶ καταλειφθήσονται ἄνθρωποι ὀλίγοι.
Therefore a curseⓘ devours the land and its inhabitants bear its guilt; therefore they are scorchedⓘ the inhabitants of the land, and few men remain.

אבל תירוש אמללה גפן נאנחו כל שמחי לב
πενθήσει οἶνος, πενθήσει ἄμπελος, στενάξουσιν πάντες οἱ εὐφραινόμενοι τὴν ψυχήν.
The new wineⓘ mourns, the vine languishes, all the merry-hearted groan.

שבת משוש תפים חדל שאון עליזים שבת משוש כנור
πέπαυται εὐφροσύνη τυμπάνων, πέπαυται αὐθάδεια καὶ πλοῦτος ἀσεβῶν, πέπαυται φωνὴ κιθάρας.
The merriment of the tambourinesⓘ has ceased, the noise of the revellers has ended, the merriment of the harp has ceased.

בשיר לא ישתו יין ימר שכר לשתיו
ᾐσχύνθησαν, οὐκ ἔπιον οἶνον, πικρὸν ἐγένετο τὸ σικερα τοῖς πίνουσιν.
They do not drink wine with singing; strong drink is bitter liquorⓘ to those who drink it.

נשברה קרית תהו סגר כל בית מבוא
ἠρημώθη πᾶσα πόλις, κλείσει οἰκίαν τοῦ μὴ εἰσελθεῖν.
The city of chaosⓘ is broken down, every house is shut so that none may enter.

צוחה על היין בחוצות ערבה כל שמחה גלה משוש הארץ
ὀλολύζετε περὶ τοῦ οἴνου πανταχῇ· πέπαυται πᾶσα εὐφροσύνη τῆς γῆς.
A cryⓘ over wine in the streets: all joy has gone, the gladness of the land is banished.

נשאר בעיר שמה ושאיה יכת שער
καὶ καταλειφθήσονται πόλεις ἔρημοι, καὶ οἶκοι ἐγκαταλελειμμένοι ἀπολοῦνται.
Desolation is left in the city, and the gate is battered to ruin.
13
כי כה יהיה בקרב הארץ בתוך העמים כנקף זית כעוללת אם כלה בציר
ταῦτα πάντα ἔσται ἐν τῇ γῇ ἐν μέσῳ τῶν ἐθνῶν, ὃν τρόπον ἐάν τις καλαμήσηται ἐλαίαν, οὕτως καλαμήσονται αὐτούς, καὶ ἐὰν παύσηται ὁ τρύγητος.
For thus it shall be in the midst of the land, among the peoples, like the beatingⓘ of an olive tree, like gleanings when the grape harvest is finished.

המה ישאו קולם ירנו בגאון יהוה צהלו מים
οὗτοι φωνῇ βοήσονται, οἱ δὲ καταλειφθέντες ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς εὐφρανθήσονται ἅμα τῇ δόξῃ κυρίου. ταραχθήσεται τὸ ὕδωρ τῆς θαλάσσης·
Those will lift up their voice, they shall shout for joy; for the majestyⓘ of the Tetragrammaton they cry out from the sea.

על כן בארים כבדו יהוה באיי הים שם יהוה אלהי ישראל
διὰ τοῦτο ἡ δόξα κυρίου ἐν ταῖς νήσοις ἔσται τῆς θαλάσσης, τὸ ὄνομα κυρίου ἔνδοξον ἔσται Κύριε ὁ θεὸς Ισραηλ.
Therefore in the shores of the eastⓘ glorify the Tetragrammaton, in the coastlands of the sea the Nameⓘ of the Tetragrammaton, the God of Israel.

מכנף הארץ זמרת שמענו צבי לצדיק ואמר רזי לי רזי לי אוי לי בגדים בגדו ובגד בוגדים בגדו
ἀπὸ τῶν πτερύγων τῆς γῆς τέρατα ἠκούσαμεν Ἐλπὶς τῷ εὐσεβεῖ. καὶ ἐροῦσιν Οὐαὶ τοῖς ἀθετοῦσιν, οἱ ἀθετοῦντες τὸν νόμον.
From the ends of the earth we have heard songs: Glory to the Righteous Oneⓘ. But I said: razì-li, razì-liⓘ — my secret, my secret! Woe to me: the treacherous deal treacherouslyⓘ, with treachery the treacherous deal treacherously.

פחד ופחת ופח עליך יושב הארץ
φόβος καὶ βόθυνος καὶ παγὶς ἐφ’ ὑμᾶς τοὺς ἐνοικοῦντας ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς·
Terror, pit, and snareⓘ are upon you, O inhabitant of the land:

והיה הנס מקול הפחד יפל אל הפחת והעולה מתוך הפחת ילכד בפח כי ארבות ממרום נפתחו וירעשו מוסדי ארץ
καὶ ἔσται ὁ φεύγων τὸν φόβον ἐμπεσεῖται εἰς τὸν βόθυνον, ὁ δὲ ἐκβαίνων ἐκ τοῦ βοθύνου ἁλώσεται ὑπὸ τῆς παγίδος, ὅτι θυρίδες ἐκ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ ἠνεῴχθησαν, καὶ σεισθήσεται τὰ θεμέλια τῆς γῆς.
and it shall be, whoever flees at the sound of terror shall fall into the pit, and whoever comes up out of the pit shall be caught in the snare; for windows from on highⓘ are opened, and the foundations of the earth tremble.

רעה התרעעה הארץ פור התפוררה ארץ מוט התמוטטה ארץ
ταραχῇ ταραχθήσεται ἡ γῆ, καὶ ἀπορίᾳ ἀπορηθήσεται ἡ γῆ·
Broken, brokenⓘ is the earth; shattered, shattered is the earth; violently shaken, shaken is the earth.
20
נוע תנוע ארץ כשכור והתנודדה כמלונה וכבד עליה פשעה ונפלה ולא תסיף קום
ἔκλινεν καὶ σεισθήσεται ὡς ὀπωροφυλάκιον ἡ γῆ ὡς ὁ μεθύων καὶ κραιπαλῶν καὶ πεσεῖται καὶ οὐ μὴ δύνηται ἀναστῆναι, κατίσχυσεν γὰρ ἐπ’ αὐτῆς ἡ ἀνομία.
The earth staggers, staggers like a drunkardⓘ, and its transgression lies heavy upon it, and it falls and shall not rise again.

והיה ביום ההוא יפקד יהוה על צבא המרום במרום ועל מלכי האדמה על האדמה
καὶ ἐπάξει ὁ θεὸς ἐπὶ τὸν κόσμον τοῦ οὐρανοῦ τὴν χεῖρα καὶ ἐπὶ τοὺς βασιλεῖς τῆς γῆς·
And it shall be in that day: the Tetragrammaton Tzevaòtⓘ shall visit the host of the heightⓘ, and the kings of the earthⓘ upon the earth;

ואספו אספה אסיר על בור וסגרו על מסגר ומרב ימים יפקדו
καὶ συνάξουσιν καὶ ἀποκλείσουσιν εἰς ὀχύρωμα καὶ εἰς δεσμωτήριον, διὰ πολλῶν γενεῶν ἐπισκοπὴ ἔσται αὐτῶν.
and they shall be gathered as prisonersⓘ are gathered in a pit, and shall be shut up in a dungeon, and after many days shall be visitedⓘ.

וחפרה הלבנה ובושה החמה כי מלך יהוה צבאות בהר ציון ובירושלם ונגד זקניו כבוד
καὶ τακήσεται ἡ πλίνθος, καὶ πεσεῖται τὸ τεῖχος, ὅτι βασιλεύσει κύριος ἐν Σιων καὶ ἐν Ιερουσαλημ καὶ ἐνώπιον τῶν πρεσβυτέρων δοξασθήσεται.
And the moon shall be abashedⓘ and the sun shall be ashamed, for the Tetragrammaton Tzevaòtⓘ shall reign on Mount Tziònⓘ and in Yerushalàyim, and before his elders there shall be glory.
