בימים ההם חלה חזקיהו למות ויבוא אליו ישעיהו בן אמוץ הנביא ויאמר אליו כה אמר יהוה צו לביתך כי מת אתה ולא תחיה
Ἐγένετο δὲ ἐν τῷ καιρῷ ἐκείνῳ ἐμαλακίσθη Εζεκιας ἕως θανάτου· καὶ ἦλθεν πρὸς αὐτὸν Ησαιας υἱὸς Αμως ὁ προφήτης καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτόν Τάδε λέγει κύριος Τάξαι περὶ τοῦ οἴκου σου, ἀποθνῄσκεις γὰρ σὺ καὶ οὐ ζήσῃ.
In those days Chizqiyàhuⓘ fell mortally ill. The prophet Yeshaʿyàhuⓘ, son of Amòtz, came to him and said to him: «Thus says the Tetragrammaton: Set your house in orderⓘ, for you are dying and shall not live».

ויסב חזקיהו פניו אל הקיר ויתפלל אל יהוה
καὶ ἀπέστρεψεν Εζεκιας τὸ πρόσωπον αὐτοῦ πρὸς τὸν τοῖχον καὶ προσηύξατο πρὸς κύριον
And Chizqiyàhu turned his face to the wallⓘ and prayed to the Tetragrammaton,

ויאמר אנה יהוה זכר נא את אשר התהלכתי לפניך באמת ובלב שלם והטוב בעיניך עשיתי ויבך חזקיהו בכי גדול
λέγων Μνήσθητι, κύριε, ὡς ἐπορεύθην ἐνώπιόν σου μετὰ ἀληθείας ἐν καρδίᾳ ἀληθινῇ καὶ τὰ ἀρεστὰ ἐνώπιόν σου ἐποίησα· καὶ ἔκλαυσεν Εζεκιας κλαυθμῷ μεγάλῳ.
and said: «I beseech youⓘ, O Tetragrammaton, remember how I have walked before you in truth and with a whole heartⓘ and have done what is good in your eyes». And Chizqiyàhu wept with great weeping.

ויהי דבר יהוה אל ישעיהו לאמר
καὶ ἐγένετο λόγος κυρίου πρὸς Ησαιαν λέγων
And the word of the Tetragrammaton came to Yeshaʿyàhu, saying:

הלוך ואמרת אל חזקיהו כה אמר יהוה אלהי דוד אביך שמעתי את תפלתך ראיתי את דמעתך הנני יוסף על ימיך חמש עשרה שנה
Πορεύθητι καὶ εἰπὸν Εζεκια Τάδε λέγει κύριος ὁ θεὸς Δαυιδ τοῦ πατρός σου Ἤκουσα τῆς φωνῆς τῆς προσευχῆς σου καὶ εἶδον τὰ δάκρυά σου· ἰδοὺ προστίθημι πρὸς τὸν χρόνον σου ἔτη δέκα πέντε·
«Go and say to Chizqiyàhu: Thus says the Tetragrammaton, God of Davìd your fatherⓘ: I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tear; behold, I add to your days fifteen yearsⓘ.

ומכף מלך אשור אצילך ואת העיר הזאת וגנותי על העיר הזאת
καὶ ἐκ χειρὸς βασιλέως Ἀσσυρίων σώσω σε καὶ ὑπὲρ τῆς πόλεως ταύτης ὑπερασπιῶ.
And from the hand of the king of Ashshùrⓘ I will save you and this city, and I will defend this city.

וזה לך האות מאת יהוה אשר יעשה יהוה את הדבר הזה אשר דבר
τοῦτο δέ σοι τὸ σημεῖον παρὰ κυρίου ὅτι ὁ θεὸς ποιήσει τὸ ῥῆμα τοῦτο·
And this shall be the signⓘ for you from the Tetragrammaton, that the Tetragrammaton will carry out this word that he has spoken:

הנני משיב את צל המעלות אשר ירדה במעלות אחז בשמש אחרנית עשר מעלות ותשב השמש עשר מעלות במעלות אשר ירדה
τὴν σκιὰν τῶν ἀναβαθμῶν, οὓς κατέβη ὁ ἥλιος, τοὺς δέκα ἀναβαθμοὺς τοῦ οἴκου τοῦ πατρός σου, ἀποστρέψω τὸν ἥλιον τοὺς δέκα ἀναβαθμούς. καὶ ἀνέβη ὁ ἥλιος τοὺς δέκα ἀναβαθμούς, οὓς κατέβη ἡ σκιά.
behold, I make the shadow on the steps of Achàzⓘ go back — the shadow that had gone down — ten steps backward with the sun». And the sun went back ten steps, the steps by which it had gone down.

מכתב לחזקיהו מלך יהודה בחלתו ויחי מחליו
Προσευχὴ Εζεκιου βασιλέως τῆς Ιουδαίας, ἡνίκα ἐμα λακίσθη καὶ ἀνέστη ἐκ τῆς μαλακίας αὐτοῦ.
Writing of Chizqiyàhuⓘ, king of Judah, when he fell ill and recovered from his illness.

אני אמרתי בדמי ימי אלכה בשערי שאול פקדתי יתר שנותי
Ἐγὼ εἶπα Ἐν τῷ ὕψει τῶν ἡμερῶν μου ἐν πύλαις ᾅδου καταλείψω τὰ ἔτη τὰ ἐπίλοιπα.
I said: «In the midst of my daysⓘ I shall go to the gates of Sheòlⓘ; I am deprived of the remainder of my years».

אמרתי לא אראה יה יה בארץ החיים לא אביט אדם עוד עם יושבי חדל
εἶπα Οὐκέτι μὴ ἴδω τὸ σωτήριον τοῦ θεοῦ ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς, οὐκέτι μὴ ἴδω ἄνθρωπον
I said: «I shall see no more Yah, Yahⓘ in the land of the living; I shall look no more upon a human being among the inhabitants of the world that ceasesⓘ.

דורי נסע ונגלה מני כאהל רעי קפדתי כארג חיי מדלה יבצעני מיום עד לילה תשלימני
ἐκ τῆς συγγενείας μου. κατέλιπον τὸ λοιπὸν τῆς ζωῆς μου· ἐξῆλθεν καὶ ἀπῆλθεν ἀπ’ ἐμοῦ ὥσπερ ὁ καταλύων σκηνὴν πήξας, τὸ πνεῦμά μου παρ’ ἐμοὶ ἐγένετο ὡς ἱστὸς ἐρίθου ἐγγιζούσης ἐκτεμεῖν. ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ἐκείνῃ παρεδόθην
My dwelling is uprooted and removed from me like a shepherd's tentⓘ; I have rolled up my life like a weaverⓘ: from day to night you bring me to an end.

שויתי עד בקר כארי כן ישבר כל עצמותי מיום עד לילה תשלימני
ἕως πρωῒ ὡς λέοντι· οὕτως τὰ ὀστᾶ μου συνέτριψεν, ἀπὸ γὰρ τῆς ἡμέρας ἕως τῆς νυκτὸς παρεδόθην.
I composed myselfⓘ until morning; like a lion, so he breaks all my bones: from day to night you bring me to an end.

כסוס עגור כן אצפצף אהגה כיונה דלו עיני למרום אדני עשקה לי ערבני
ὡς χελιδών, οὕτως φωνήσω, καὶ ὡς περιστερά, οὕτως μελετήσω· ἐξέλιπον γάρ μου οἱ ὀφθαλμοὶ τοῦ βλέπειν εἰς τὸ ὕψος τοῦ οὐρανοῦ πρὸς τὸν κύριον, ὃς ἐξείλατό με
Like a swallow and a craneⓘ, so I chirp; I moan like a doveⓘ; my eyes grow weary looking upward. Adonài, I am oppressedⓘ: be thou my suretyⓘ!

מה אדבר ואמר לי והוא עשה אדדה כל שנותי על מר נפשי
καὶ ἀφείλατό μου τὴν ὀδύνην τῆς ψυχῆς.
What shall I say? He himself spoke to me and has done it. I shall walk humblyⓘ all my years, in the bitterness of my soul.

אדני עליהם יחיו ולכל בהן חיי רוחי ותחלימני והחיני
κύριε, περὶ αὐτῆς γὰρ ἀνηγγέλη σοι, καὶ ἐξήγειράς μου τὴν πνοήν, καὶ παρακληθεὶς ἔζησα.
Adonài, by these things men liveⓘ, and in all these things is the life of my spirit: you heal me and make me live.

הנה לשלום מר לי מר ואתה חשקת נפשי משחת בלי כי השלכת אחרי גוך כל חטאי
εἵλου γάρ μου τὴν ψυχήν, ἵνα μὴ ἀπόληται, καὶ ἀπέρριψας ὀπίσω μου πάσας τὰς ἁμαρτίας μου.
Behold, bitterness itself became salvation to me: you have loved my soulⓘ, and have cast behind your back all my sinsⓘ.

כי לא שאול תודך מות יהללך לא ישברו יורדי בור אל אמתך
οὐ γὰρ οἱ ἐν ᾅδου αἰνέσουσίν σε, οὐδὲ οἱ ἀποθανόντες εὐλογήσουσίν σε, οὐδὲ ἐλπιοῦσιν οἱ ἐν ᾅδου τὴν ἐλεημοσύνην σου·
For Sheòl does not praise you, death does not celebrate youⓘ; those who go down to the pit can no longer hope in your faithfulness.

חי חי הוא יודך כמוני היום אב לבנים יודיע אל אמתך
οἱ ζῶντως εὐλογήσουσίν σε ὃν τρόπον κἀγώ. ἀπὸ γὰρ τῆς σήμερον παιδία ποιήσω, ἃ ἀναγγελοῦσιν τὴν δικαιοσύνην σου,
The living, the livingⓘ praise you, as I do this day; the father makes known to his children your faithfulness.

יהוה להושיעני ונגנותי ננגן כל ימי חיינו על בית יהוה
κύριε τῆς σωτηρίας μου· καὶ οὐ παύσομαι εὐλογῶν σε μετὰ ψαλτηρίου πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας τῆς ζωῆς μου κατέναντι τοῦ οἴκου τοῦ θεοῦ.
The Tetragrammaton is my salvation: we shall make my strings resoundⓘ all the days of our life, in the house of the Tetragrammaton.

ויאמר ישעיהו ישאו דבלת תאנים וימרחו על השחין ויחי
Καὶ εἶπεν Ησαιας πρὸς Εζεκιαν Λαβὲ παλάθην ἐκ σύκων καὶ τρῖψον καὶ κατάπλασαι, καὶ ὑγιὴς ἔσῃ.
And Yeshaʿyàhu said: «Let a cake of figsⓘ be taken, let it be applied to the ulcer, and he will recover».

ויאמר חזקיהו מה אות כי אעלה בית יהוה
καὶ εἶπεν Εζεκιας Τοῦτο τὸ σημεῖον, ὅτι ἀναβήσομαι εἰς τὸν οἶκον κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ.
And Chizqiyàhu said: «What is the signⓘ that I shall go up to the house of the Tetragrammaton?»
