קרא בגרון אל תחשך כשופר הרם קולך והגד לעמי פשעם ולבית יעקב חטאתם
Ἀναβόησον ἐν ἰσχύι καὶ μὴ φείσῃ, ὡς σάλπιγγα ὕψωσον τὴν φωνήν σου καὶ ἀνάγγειλον τῷ λαῷ μου τὰ ἁμαρτήματα αὐτῶν καὶ τῷ οἴκῳ Ιακωβ τὰς ἀνομίας αὐτῶν.
Cry at the top of your voiceⓘ, do not hold back, lift your voice like a shofàrⓘ; declare to my people their transgressionⓘ, and to the house of Yaʿaqòv their sinsⓘ.

ואותי יום יום ידרשון ודעת דרכי יחפצון כגוי אשר צדקה עשה ומשפט אלהיו לא עזב ישאלוני משפטי צדק קרבת אלהים יחפצון
ἐμὲ ἡμέραν ἐξ ἡμέρας ζητοῦσιν καὶ γνῶναί μου τὰς ὁδοὺς ἐπιθυμοῦσιν· ὡς λαὸς δικαιοσύνην πεποιηκὼς καὶ κρίσιν θεοῦ αὐτοῦ μὴ ἐγκαταλελοιπὼς αἰτοῦσίν με νῦν κρίσιν δικαίαν καὶ ἐγγίζειν θεῷ ἐπιθυμοῦσιν
Yet they seek me day after day and desire to know my waysⓘ, like a people that has practised justiceⓘ and has not abandoned the ordinanceⓘ of its God; they ask me for righteous judgements, they desire nearness to God.

למה צמנו ולא ראית ענינו נפשנו ולא תדע הן ביום צמכם תמצאו חפץ וכל עצביכם תנגשו
λέγοντες Τί ὅτι ἐνηστεύσαμεν καὶ οὐκ εἶδες; ἐταπεινώσαμεν τὰς ψυχὰς ἡμῶν καὶ οὐκ ἔγνως; ἐν γὰρ ταῖς ἡμέραις τῶν νηστειῶν ὑμῶν εὑρίσκετε τὰ θελήματα ὑμῶν καὶ πάντας τοὺς ὑποχειρίους ὑμῶν ὑπονύσσετε.
«Why have we fasted and you have not seen, we have humbled our soulsⓘ and you have not noticed?». Behold, on the day of your fastⓘ you pursue your own interests and press all your labourersⓘ.

הן לריב ומצה תצומו ולהכות באגרף רשע לא תצומו כיום להשמיע במרום קולכם
εἰ εἰς κρίσεις καὶ μάχας νηστεύετε καὶ τύπτετε πυγμαῖς ταπεινόν, ἵνα τί μοι νηστεύετε ὡς σήμερον ἀκουσθῆναι ἐν κραυγῇ τὴν φωνὴν ὑμῶν;
Behold, you fast for strife and contention, to strike with a wicked fistⓘ; you do not fast today in such a way as to make your voice heard on high.

הכזה יהיה צום אבחרהו יום ענות אדם נפשו הלכף כאגמן ראשו ושק ואפר יציע הלזה תקרא צום ויום רצון ליהוה
οὐ ταύτην τὴν νηστείαν ἐξελεξάμην καὶ ἡμέραν ταπεινοῦν ἄνθρωπον τὴν ψυχὴν αὐτοῦ· οὐδ’ ἂν κάμψῃς ὡς κρίκον τὸν τράχηλόν σου καὶ σάκκον καὶ σποδὸν ὑποστρώσῃ, οὐδ’ οὕτως καλέσετε νηστείαν δεκτήν.
Is this the fastⓘ that I choose, the day on which a man humbles himself, bowing his head like a reedⓘ, spreading sackcloth and ashes under himself? Will you call this a fast, a day acceptable to the Tetragrammatonⓘ?

הלוא זה צום אבחרהו פתח חרצבות רשע התר אגדות מוטה ושלח רצוצים חפשים וכל מוטה תנתקו
οὐχὶ τοιαύτην νηστείαν ἐγὼ ἐξελεξάμην, λέγει κύριος, ἀλλὰ λῦε πάντα σύνδεσμον ἀδικίας, διάλυε στραγγαλιὰς βιαίων συναλλαγμάτων, ἀπόστελλε τεθραυσμένους ἐν ἀφέσει καὶ πᾶσαν συγγραφὴν ἄδικον διάσπα·
Is not this rather the fast that I choose: to loose the bonds of wickednessⓘ, to undo the straps of the yoke, to let the oppressed go free and to break every yoke? Greek additionⓘ

הלוא פרס לרעב לחמך ועניים מרודים תביא בית כי תראה ערם וכסיתו ומבשרך לא תתעלם
διάθρυπτε πεινῶντι τὸν ἄρτον σου καὶ πτωχοὺς ἀστέγους εἴσαγε εἰς τὸν οἶκόν σου· ἐὰν ἴδῃς γυμνόν, περίβαλε, καὶ ἀπὸ τῶν οἰκείων τοῦ σπέρματός σου οὐχ ὑπερόψῃ.
Is it not to share your breadⓘ with the hungry, to bring the homeless poor into your house, and when you see the naked to clothe him, and not to hide yourself from your own fleshⓘ?

אז יבקע כשחר אורך וארכתך מהרה תצמח והלך לפניך צדקך כבוד יהוה יאספך
τότε ῥαγήσεται πρόιμον τὸ φῶς σου, καὶ τὰ ἰάματά σου ταχὺ ἀνατελεῖ, καὶ προπορεύσεται ἔμπροσθέν σου ἡ δικαιοσύνη σου, καὶ ἡ δόξα τοῦ θεοῦ περιστελεῖ σε·
Then your lightⓘ shall break forth like the dawn and your healingⓘ shall spring up swiftly; your righteousness shall go before you, and the glory of the Tetragrammatonⓘ shall be your rear guard.

אז תקרא ויהוה יענה תשוע ויאמר הנני אם תסיר מתוכך מוטה שלח אצבע ודבר און
τότε βοήσῃ, καὶ ὁ θεὸς εἰσακούσεταί σου· ἔτι λαλοῦντός σου ἐρεῖ Ἰδοὺ πάρειμι. ἐὰν ἀφέλῃς ἀπὸ σοῦ σύνδεσμον καὶ χειροτονίαν καὶ ῥῆμα γογγυσμοῦ
Then you will call and the Tetragrammatonⓘ will answer, you will cry and he will say: Here I amⓘ. If you remove from your midst the yoke, the pointing of the fingerⓘ and the malicious word,

ותפק לרעב נפשך ונפש נענה תשביע וזרח בחשך אורך ואפלתך כצהרים
καὶ δῷς πεινῶντι τὸν ἄρτον ἐκ ψυχῆς σου καὶ ψυχὴν τεταπεινωμένην ἐμπλήσῃς, τότε ἀνατελεῖ ἐν τῷ σκότει τὸ φῶς σου, καὶ τὸ σκότος σου ὡς μεσημβρία.
if you pour yourself out for the hungry and satisfy the afflictedⓘ soul, then your light shall rise in the darkness and your gloom shall be as the noonday.

ונחך יהוה תמיד והשביע בצחצחות נפשך ועצמתיך יחליץ והיית כגן רוה וכמוצא מים אשר לא יכזבו מימיו
καὶ ἔσται ὁ θεός σου μετὰ σοῦ διὰ παντός· καὶ ἐμπλησθήσῃ καθάπερ ἐπιθυμεῖ ἡ ψυχή σου, καὶ τὰ ὀστᾶ σου πιανθήσεται, καὶ ἔσῃ ὡς κῆπος μεθύων καὶ ὡς πηγὴ ἣν μὴ ἐξέλιπεν ὕδωρ, καὶ τὰ ὀστᾶ σου ὡς βοτάνη ἀνατελεῖ καὶ πιανθήσεται, καὶ κληρονομήσουσι γενεὰς γενεῶν.
And the Tetragrammatonⓘ will guide you continually, will satisfy your soul in scorched places and strengthen your bones; and you shall be like a watered gardenⓘ and like a spring of water whose waters never failⓘ.

ובנו ממך חרבות עולם מוסדי דור ודור תקומם וקרא לך גדר פרץ משבב נתיבות לשבת
καὶ οἰκοδομηθήσονταί σου αἱ ἔρημοι αἰώνιοι, καὶ ἔσται σου τὰ θεμέλια αἰώνια γενεῶν γενεαῖς· καὶ κληθήσῃ Οἰκοδόμος φραγμῶν, καὶ τοὺς τρίβους τοὺς ἀνὰ μέσον παύσεις.
Your people shall build up the ancient ruins, you shall raise up the foundations of many generations; and you shall be called repairer of the breachⓘ, restorer of streets to dwell in.

אם תשיב משבת רגלך עשות חפציך ביום קדשי וקראת לשבת ענג לקדוש יהוה מכבד וכבדתו מעשות דרכיך ממצוא חפצך ודבר דבר
ἐὰν ἀποστρέψῃς τὸν πόδα σου ἀπὸ τῶν σαββάτων τοῦ μὴ ποιεῖν τὰ θελήματά σου ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ τῇ ἁγίᾳ καὶ καλέσεις τὰ σάββατα τρυφερά, ἅγια τῷ θεῷ σου, οὐκ ἀρεῖς τὸν πόδα σου ἐπ’ ἔργῳ οὐδὲ λαλήσεις λόγον ἐν ὀργῇ ἐκ τοῦ στόματός σου,
If you turn back your foot from profaning the Shabbàtⓘ, from pursuing your own affairs on my holy day, if you call the Shabbàt delightⓘ, the holy day of the Tetragrammatonⓘ honourable, and honour it by not going your own ways, nor seeking your own pleasure, nor speaking idly —

אז תתענג על יהוה והרכבתיך על במותי ארץ והאכלתיך נחלת יעקב אביך כי פי יהוה דבר
καὶ ἔσῃ πεποιθὼς ἐπὶ κύριον, καὶ ἀναβιβάσει σε ἐπὶ τὰ ἀγαθὰ τῆς γῆς καὶ ψωμιεῖ σε τὴν κληρονομίαν Ιακωβ τοῦ πατρός σου· τὸ γὰρ στόμα κυρίου ἐλάλησεν ταῦτα.
then you shall take delight in the Tetragrammatonⓘ: I will make you ride on the heights of the earth and feed you with the heritage of Yaʿaqòvⓘ your father. For the mouth of the Tetragrammaton has spoken.
