הן לא קצרה יד יהוה מהושיע ולא כבדה אזנו משמוע
Μὴ οὐκ ἰσχύει ἡ χεὶρ κυρίου τοῦ σῶσαι; ἢ ἐβάρυνεν τὸ οὖς αὐτοῦ τοῦ μὴ εἰσακοῦσαι;
Behold, the hand of the Tetragrammaton is not too short to saveⓘ, nor is his ear too heavyⓘ to hear:

כי אם עונתיכם היו מבדלים בינכם לבין אלהיכם וחטאותיכם הסתירו פנים מכם משמוע
ἀλλὰ τὰ ἁμαρτήματα ὑμῶν διιστῶσιν ἀνὰ μέσον ὑμῶν καὶ τοῦ θεοῦ, καὶ διὰ τὰς ἁμαρτίας ὑμῶν ἀπέστρεψεν τὸ πρόσωπον αὐτοῦ ἀφ’ ὑμῶν τοῦ μὴ ἐλεῆσαι.
but your iniquitiesⓘ create separationⓘ between you and your God, and your sins have caused him to hide his faceⓘ, so that he no longer hears you.

כי כפיכם נגאלו בדם ואצבעותיכם בעון שפתותיכם דברו שקר לשונכם עולה תהגה
αἱ γὰρ χεῖρες ὑμῶν μεμολυμμέναι αἵματι καὶ οἱ δάκτυλοι ὑμῶν ἐν ἁμαρτίαις, τὰ δὲ χείλη ὑμῶν ἐλάλησεν ἀνομίαν, καὶ ἡ γλῶσσα ὑμῶν ἀδικίαν μελετᾷ.
For your hands are defiled with bloodⓘ, your fingers with iniquity; your lips have uttered falsehoodⓘ, your tongue mutters injustice.

אין קרא בצדק ואין נשפט באמונה בטוח על תהו ודבר שוא הרו עמל והוליד און
οὐδεὶς λαλεῖ δίκαια, οὐδὲ ἔστιν κρίσις ἀληθινή· πεποίθασιν ἐπὶ ματαίοις καὶ λαλοῦσιν κενά, ὅτι κύουσιν πόνον καὶ τίκτουσιν ἀνομίαν.
No one pleads in righteousnessⓘ, no one judges in faithfulnessⓘ: they trust in emptinessⓘ and speak vanity, they conceive trouble and give birth to iniquityⓘ.

ביצי צפעוני בקעו וקורי עכביש יארגו האכל מביציהם ימות והזורה תבקע אפעה
ᾠὰ ἀσπίδων ἔρρηξαν καὶ ἱστὸν ἀράχνης ὑφαίνουσιν· καὶ ὁ μέλλων τῶν ᾠῶν αὐτῶν φαγεῖν συντρίψας οὔριον εὗρεν, καὶ ἐν αὐτῷ βασιλίσκος·
They hatch viper's eggsⓘ and weave spider's webs: whoever eats their eggs dies, and what is crushed brings forth a viperⓘ.

קוריהם לא יהיו לבגד ולא יתכסו במעשיהם מעשיהם מעשי און ופעל חמס בכפיהם
ὁ ἱστὸς αὐτῶν οὐκ ἔσται εἰς ἱμάτιον, οὐδὲ μὴ περιβάλωνται ἀπὸ τῶν ἔργων αὐτῶν· τὰ γὰρ ἔργα αὐτῶν ἔργα ἀνομίας.
Their webs will not become a garment, nor can they cover themselves with the works of their hands: their works are works of iniquity, and acts of violenceⓘ are in their hands.

רגליהם לרע ירצו וימהרו לשפך דם נקי מחשבותיהם מחשבות און שד ושבר במסלותם
οἱ δὲ πόδες αὐτῶν ἐπὶ πονηρίαν τρέχουσιν ταχινοὶ ἐκχέαι αἷμα· καὶ οἱ διαλογισμοὶ αὐτῶν διαλογισμοὶ ἀφρόνων, σύντριμμα καὶ ταλαιπωρία ἐν ταῖς ὁδοῖς αὐτῶν.
Their feet run to evil, they hasten to shed innocent bloodⓘ; their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity, devastation and ruinⓘ are in their paths.

דרך שלום לא ידעו ואין משפט במעגלותם נתיבותיהם עקשו להם כל דרך בה לא ידע שלום
καὶ ὁδὸν εἰρήνης οὐκ οἴδασιν, καὶ οὐκ ἔστιν κρίσις ἐν ταῖς ὁδοῖς αὐτῶν· αἱ γὰρ τρίβοι αὐτῶν διεστραμμέναι, ἃς διοδεύουσιν, καὶ οὐκ οἴδασιν εἰρήνην.
The way of peaceⓘ they do not know, and there is no justiceⓘ in their paths; they have made their ways crooked: whoever walks in them does not know peace.

על כן רחק משפט ממנו ולא תשיגנו צדקה נקוה לאור והנה חשך לנגהות באפלות נהלך
διὰ τοῦτο ἀπέστη ἡ κρίσις ἀπ’ αὐτῶν, καὶ οὐ μὴ καταλάβῃ αὐτοὺς δικαιοσύνη· ὑπομεινάντων αὐτῶν φῶς ἐγένετο αὐτοῖς σκότος, μείναντες αὐγὴν ἐν ἀωρίᾳ περιεπάτησαν.
Therefore justice is far from us and righteousnessⓘ does not reach us: we hoped for light and behold darkness, for brightness, yet we walk in gloom.

נגששה כעורים קיר וכאין עינים נגששה כשלנו בצהרים כנשף באשמנים כמתים
ψηλαφήσουσιν ὡς τυφλοὶ τοῖχον καὶ ὡς οὐχ ὑπαρχόντων ὀφθαλμῶν ψηλαφήσουσιν· καὶ πεσοῦνται ἐν μεσημβρίᾳ ὡς ἐν μεσονυκτίῳ, ὡς ἀποθνῄσκοντες στενάξουσιν.
We grope along the wall like blind men, we fumble like those who have no eyes; we stumble at noon as though it were twilight, and among the vigorousⓘ we are like the dead.

נהמה כדבים כלנו וכיונים הגה נהגה נקוה למשפט ואין לישועה רחקה ממנו
ὡς ἄρκος καὶ ὡς περιστερὰ ἅμα πορεύσονται· ἀνεμείναμεν κρίσιν, καὶ οὐκ ἔστιν· σωτηρία μακρὰν ἀφέστηκεν ἀφ’ ἡμῶν.
We all growl like bearsⓘ, we moan continually like doves; we wait for justice and it does not come, for salvationⓘ, and it is far from us.

כי רבו פשעינו נגדך וחטאותינו ענתה בנו כי פשעינו אתנו ועונתינו ידענום
πολλὴ γὰρ ἡμῶν ἡ ἀνομία ἐναντίον σου, καὶ αἱ ἁμαρτίαι ἡμῶν ἀντέστησαν ἡμῖν· αἱ γὰρ ἀνομίαι ἡμῶν ἐν ἡμῖν, καὶ τὰ ἀδικήματα ἡμῶν ἔγνωμεν·
For many are our transgressionsⓘ before you, and our sins testify against us; our iniquities are with us, and we acknowledge our wrongdoings:

פשע וכחש ביהוה ונסוג מאחר אלהינו דבר עשק וסרה הרו והגו מלב דברי שקר
ἠσεβήσαμεν καὶ ἐψευσάμεθα καὶ ἀπέστημεν ἀπὸ ὄπισθεν τοῦ θεοῦ ἡμῶν· ἐλαλήσαμεν ἄδικα καὶ ἠπειθήσαμεν, ἐκύομεν καὶ ἐμελετήσαμεν ἀπὸ καρδίας ἡμῶν λόγους ἀδίκους·
we have transgressed and denied the Tetragrammaton, we have turned backⓘ from following our God, we have spoken oppression and revolt, we have conceived and murmured from the heart words of falsehood.

והסג אחור משפט וצדקה מרחוק תעמד כי כשלה ברחוב אמת ונכחה לא תוכל לבוא
καὶ ἀπεστήσαμεν ὀπίσω τὴν κρίσιν, καὶ ἡ δικαιοσύνη μακρὰν ἀφέστηκεν, ὅτι καταναλώθη ἐν ταῖς ὁδοῖς αὐτῶν ἡ ἀλήθεια, καὶ δι’ εὐθείας οὐκ ἠδύναντο διελθεῖν.
Justice is repelled and driven back, righteousness stands far off, for truthⓘ stumbles in the public square and uprightness cannot enter;

ותהי האמת נעדרת וסר מרע משתולל וירא יהוה וירע בעיניו כי אין משפט
καὶ ἡ ἀλήθεια ἦρται, καὶ μετέστησαν τὴν διάνοιαν τοῦ συνιέναι· καὶ εἶδεν κύριος, καὶ οὐκ ἤρεσεν αὐτῷ, ὅτι οὐκ ἦν κρίσις.
truth has vanished, and whoever withdraws from evil is plunderedⓘ. And the Tetragrammaton saw, and it was evil in his eyes that there was no justice.

וירא כי אין איש וישתומם כי אין מפגיע ותושע לו זרעו וצדקתו היא סמכתהו
καὶ εἶδεν καὶ οὐκ ἦν ἀνήρ, καὶ κατενόησεν καὶ οὐκ ἦν ὁ ἀντιλημψόμενος, καὶ ἠμύνατο αὐτοὺς τῷ βραχίονι αὐτοῦ καὶ τῇ ἐλεημοσύνῃ ἐστηρίσατο.
He saw that there was no manⓘ, he was appalled that there was no intercessorⓘ; then his own arm brought him salvation, and his righteousness upheld him.
17
וילבש צדקה כשרין וכובע ישועה בראשו וילבש בגדי נקם תלבשת ויעט כמעיל קנאה
καὶ ἐνεδύσατο δικαιοσύνην ὡς θώρακα καὶ περιέθετο περικεφαλαίαν σωτηρίου ἐπὶ τῆς κεφαλῆς καὶ περιεβάλετο ἱμάτιον ἐκδικήσεως καὶ τὸ περιβόλαιον
He put on righteousness as a breastplateⓘ, and placed the helmet of salvationⓘ upon his head; he put on garments of vengeance as a robe and wrapped himself in burning zealⓘ as a mantle —

כעל גמלות כעל ישלם חמה לצריו גמול לאיביו לאיים גמול ישלם
ὡς ἀνταποδώσων ἀνταπόδοσιν ὄνειδος τοῖς ὑπεναντίοις.
according to their deeds he will repayⓘ: wrath to his adversaries, recompense to his enemies, to the coastlandsⓘ he will render their recompense.

וייראו ממערב את שם יהוה וממזרח שמש את כבודו כי יבוא כנהר צר רוח יהוה נססה בו
καὶ φοβηθήσονται οἱ ἀπὸ δυσμῶν τὸ ὄνομα κυρίου καὶ οἱ ἀπ’ ἀνατολῶν ἡλίου τὸ ὄνομα τὸ ἔνδοξον· ἥξει γὰρ ὡς ποταμὸς βίαιος ἡ ὀργὴ παρὰ κυρίου, ἥξει μετὰ θυμοῦ.
And from the west they will fear the Name of the Tetragrammaton, and from the east his glory; for he will come like a rushing riverⓘ, which the breath of the Tetragrammaton drives with force.

ובא לציון גואל ולשבי פשע ביעקב נאם יהוה
καὶ ἥξει ἕνεκεν Σιων ὁ ῥυόμενος καὶ ἀποστρέψει ἀσεβείας ἀπὸ Ιακωβ.
And the Redeemerⓘ will come to Zion, to those in Yaʿaqòv who turn from transgressionⓘ — declares the Tetragrammaton.

ואני זאת בריתי אותם אמר יהוה רוחי אשר עליך ודברי אשר שמתי בפיך לא ימושו מפיך ומפי זרעך ומפי זרע זרעך אמר יהוה מעתה ועד עולם
καὶ αὕτη αὐτοῖς ἡ παρ’ ἐμοῦ διαθήκη, εἶπεν κύριος· τὸ πνεῦμα τὸ ἐμόν, ὅ ἐστιν ἐπὶ σοί, καὶ τὰ ῥήματα, ἃ ἔδωκα εἰς τὸ στόμα σου, οὐ μὴ ἐκλίπῃ ἐκ τοῦ στόματός σου καὶ ἐκ τοῦ στόματος τοῦ σπέρματός σου, εἶπεν γὰρ κύριος, ἀπὸ τοῦ νῦν καὶ εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα.
And as for me, this is my covenantⓘ with them, says the Tetragrammaton: my spiritⓘ that is upon you and my words that I have placed in your mouth shall not depart from your mouth, nor from the mouth of your offspring, nor from the mouth of your offspring's offspring, says the Tetragrammaton, from now and forever.
