ויאמר יהוה אל משה ואל אהרן בארץ מצרים לאמר
Εἶπεν δὲ κύριος πρὸς Μωυσῆν καὶ Ααρων ἐν γῇ Αἰγύπτου λέγων
The Tetragrammatonⓘ said to Moses and to Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying:

החדש הזה לכם ראש חדשים ראשון הוא לכם לחדשי השנה
Ὁ μὴν οὗτος ὑμῖν ἀρχὴ μηνῶν, πρῶτός ἐστιν ὑμῖν ἐν τοῖς μησὶν τοῦ ἐνιαυτοῦ.
«This month shall be for you the beginning of monthsⓘ, the first for you among the months of the year.

דברו אל כל עדת ישראל לאמר בעשר לחדש הזה ויקחו להם איש שה לבית אבת שה לבית
λάλησον πρὸς πᾶσαν συναγωγὴν υἱῶν Ισραηλ λέγων Τῇ δεκάτῃ τοῦ μηνὸς τούτου λαβέτωσαν ἕκαστος πρόβατον κατ’ οἴκους πατριῶν, ἕκαστος πρόβατον κατ’ οἰκίαν.
Speak to the whole assemblyⓘ of Israel, saying: On the tenth day of this month let each one take a lambⓘ for an ancestral houseⓘ, a lamb for each house.

ואם ימעט הבית מהית משה ולקח הוא ושכנו הקרב אל ביתו במכסת נפשת איש לפי אכלו תכסו על השה
ἐὰν δὲ ὀλιγοστοὶ ὦσιν οἱ ἐν τῇ οἰκίᾳ ὥστε μὴ ἱκανοὺς εἶναι εἰς πρόβατον, συλλήμψεται μεθ’ ἑαυτοῦ τὸν γείτονα τὸν πλησίον αὐτοῦ κατὰ ἀριθμὸν ψυχῶν· ἕκαστος τὸ ἀρκοῦν αὐτῷ συναριθμήσεται εἰς πρόβατον.
And if the household is too few for a lamb, then he shall take it together with the nearest neighborⓘ to his house, according to the number of the soulsⓘ: according to what each one eats you shall reckon for the lamb.

שה תמים זכר בן שנה יהיה לכם מן הכבשים ומן העזים תקחו
πρόβατον τέλειον ἄρσεν ἐνιαύσιον ἔσται ὑμῖν· ἀπὸ τῶν ἀρνῶν καὶ τῶν ἐρίφων λήμψεσθε.
Let the lamb be perfectⓘ, male, a year old; from the lambs or from the kids you shall take it.

והיה לכם למשמרת עד ארבעה עשר יום לחדש הזה ושחטו אתו כל קהל עדת ישראל בין הערבים
καὶ ἔσται ὑμῖν διατετηρημένον ἕως τῆς τεσσαρεσκαιδεκάτης τοῦ μηνὸς τούτου, καὶ σφάξουσιν αὐτὸ πᾶν τὸ πλῆθος συναγωγῆς υἱῶν Ισραηλ πρὸς ἑσπέραν.
And it shall be in your keeping until the fourteenth dayⓘ of this month, and the whole congregation of the assembly of Israel shall slaughterⓘ it between the two eveningsⓘ.

ולקחו מן הדם ונתנו על שתי המזוזת ועל המשקוף על הבתים אשר יאכלו אתו בהם
καὶ λήμψονται ἀπὸ τοῦ αἵματος καὶ θήσουσιν ἐπὶ τῶν δύο σταθμῶν καὶ ἐπὶ τὴν φλιὰν ἐν τοῖς οἴκοις, ἐν οἷς ἐὰν φάγωσιν αὐτὰ ἐν αὐτοῖς.
And they shall take some of the bloodⓘ and put it on the two doorpostsⓘ and on the lintelⓘ, on the houses in which they shall eat it.

ואכלו את הבשר בלילה הזה צלי אש ומצות על מררים יאכלהו
καὶ φάγονται τὰ κρέα τῇ νυκτὶ ταύτῃ· ὀπτὰ πυρὶ καὶ ἄζυμα ἐπὶ πικρίδων ἔδονται.
And they shall eat the flesh on this night, roasted with fire; with unleavened breadⓘ and with bitter herbsⓘ they shall eat it.

אל תאכלו ממנו נא ובשל מבשל במים כי אם צלי אש ראשו על כרעיו ועל קרבו
οὐκ ἔδεσθε ἀπ’ αὐτῶν ὠμὸν οὐδὲ ἡψημένον ἐν ὕδατι, ἀλλ’ ἢ ὀπτὰ πυρί, κεφαλὴν σὺν τοῖς ποσὶν καὶ τοῖς ἐνδοσθίοις.
You shall not eat any of it raw, nor boiled, cooked in water, but only roasted with fire: its head with its legs and with its inner parts.

ולא תותירו ממנו עד בקר והנתר ממנו עד בקר באש תשרפו
οὐκ ἀπολείψετε ἀπ’ αὐτοῦ ἕως πρωῒ καὶ ὀστοῦν οὐ συντρίψετε ἀπ’ αὐτοῦ· τὰ δὲ καταλειπόμενα ἀπ’ αὐτοῦ ἕως πρωῒ ἐν πυρὶ κατακαύσετε.
—— Septuagint (LXX) ——You shall leave none of it remaining until the morning, and a bone of it you shall not breakⓘ; and what remains of it until the morning you shall burnⓘ with fire.—— Masoretic (MT) ——And you shall leave none of it remaining until the morning; and what remains of it until the morning you shall burnⓘ with fire. וככה תאכלו אתו מתניכם חגרים נעליכם ברגליכם ומקלכם בידכם ואכלתם אתו בחפזון פסח הוא ליהוה
οὕτως δὲ φάγεσθε αὐτό· αἱ ὀσφύες ὑμῶν περιεζωσμέναι, καὶ τὰ ὑποδήματα ἐν τοῖς ποσὶν ὑμῶν, καὶ αἱ βακτηρίαι ἐν ταῖς χερσὶν ὑμῶν· καὶ ἔδεσθε αὐτὸ μετὰ σπουδῆς· πασχα ἐστὶν κυρίῳ.
Thus you shall eat it: your loins girdedⓘ, your sandals on your feet and your staff in your hand; and you shall eat it in hasteⓘ: it is Passover for the Tetragrammatonⓘ.

ועברתי בארץ מצרים בלילה הזה והכיתי כל בכור בארץ מצרים מאדם ועד בהמה ובכל אלהי מצרים אעשה שפטים אני יהוה
καὶ διελεύσομαι ἐν γῇ Αἰγύπτῳ ἐν τῇ νυκτὶ ταύτῃ καὶ πατάξω πᾶν πρωτότοκον ἐν γῇ Αἰγύπτῳ ἀπὸ ἀνθρώπου ἕως κτήνους καὶ ἐν πᾶσι τοῖς θεοῖς τῶν Αἰγυπτίων ποιήσω τὴν ἐκδίκησιν· ἐγὼ κύριος.
And I will pass throughⓘ the land of Egypt on this night and strike every firstbornⓘ in the land of Egypt, from man to beast; and on all the gods of Egyptⓘ I will execute judgments: I am the Tetragrammatonⓘ.

והיה הדם לכם לאת על הבתים אשר אתם שם וראיתי את הדם ופסחתי עלכם ולא יהיה בכם נגף למשחית בהכתי בארץ מצרים
καὶ ἔσται τὸ αἷμα ὑμῖν ἐν σημείῳ ἐπὶ τῶν οἰκιῶν, ἐν αἷς ὑμεῖς ἐστε ἐκεῖ, καὶ ὄψομαι τὸ αἷμα καὶ σκεπάσω ὑμᾶς, καὶ οὐκ ἔσται ἐν ὑμῖν πληγὴ τοῦ ἐκτριβῆναι, ὅταν παίω ἐν γῇ Αἰγύπτῳ.
And the blood shall be for you a signⓘ on the houses where you are; and I will see the blood and pass over protectingⓘ you, and there shall be among you no plague of destruction when I strike the land of Egypt.

והיה היום הזה לכם לזכרון וחגתם אתו חג ליהוה לדרתיכם חקת עולם תחגהו
καὶ ἔσται ἡ ἡμέρα ὑμῖν αὕτη μνημόσυνον, καὶ ἑορτάσετε αὐτὴν ἑορτὴν κυρίῳ εἰς πάσας τὰς γενεὰς ὑμῶν· νόμιμον αἰώνιον ἑορτάσετε αὐτήν.
And this day shall be for you a memorialⓘ, and you shall keep it as a feast for the Tetragrammatonⓘ throughout your generations: as an eternal statuteⓘ you shall keep it.

שבעת ימים מצות תאכלו אך ביום הראשון תשביתו שאר מבתיכם כי כל אכל חמץ ונכרתה הנפש ההוא מישראל מיום הראשן עד יום השבעי
ἑπτὰ ἡμέρας ἄζυμα ἔδεσθε, ἀπὸ δὲ τῆς ἡμέρας τῆς πρώτης ἀφανιεῖτε ζύμην ἐκ τῶν οἰκιῶν ὑμῶν· πᾶς, ὃς ἂν φάγῃ ζύμην, ἐξολεθρευθήσεται ἡ ψυχὴ ἐκείνη ἐξ Ισραηλ ἀπὸ τῆς ἡμέρας τῆς πρώτης ἕως τῆς ἡμέρας τῆς ἑβδόμης.
For seven daysⓘ you shall eat unleavened bread; already from the first day you shall make the leaven disappear from your houses, for whoever eats leavened bread, that soul shall be cut offⓘ from Israel, from the first day until the seventh day.

וביום הראשון מקרא קדש וביום השביעי מקרא קדש יהיה לכם כל מלאכה לא יעשה בהם אך אשר יאכל לכל נפש הוא לבדו יעשה לכם
καὶ ἡ ἡμέρα ἡ πρώτη κληθήσεται ἁγία, καὶ ἡ ἡμέρα ἡ ἑβδόμη κλητὴ ἁγία ἔσται ὑμῖν· πᾶν ἔργον λατρευτὸν οὐ ποιήσετε ἐν αὐταῖς, πλὴν ὅσα ποιηθήσεται πάσῃ ψυχῇ, τοῦτο μόνον ποιηθήσεται ὑμῖν.
And on the first day there shall be for you a holy convocationⓘ and on the seventh day a holy convocation; no workⓘ shall be done on them, except what every person must eat: that only shall be prepared for you.

ושמרתם את המצות כי בעצם היום הזה הוצאתי את צבאותיכם מארץ מצרים ושמרתם את היום הזה לדרתיכם חקת עולם
καὶ φυλάξεσθε τὴν ἐντολὴν ταύτην· ἐν γὰρ τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ταύτῃ ἐξάξω τὴν δύναμιν ὑμῶν ἐκ γῆς Αἰγύπτου, καὶ ποιήσετε τὴν ἡμέραν ταύτην εἰς γενεὰς ὑμῶν νόμιμον αἰώνιον.
And you shall observeⓘ the unleavened bread, because on this very day I brought your hostsⓘ out of the land of Egypt; and you shall observe this day throughout your generations: an eternal statute.

בראשן בארבעה עשר יום לחדש בערב תאכלו מצת עד יום האחד ועשרים לחדש בערב
ἐναρχομένου τῇ τεσσαρεσκαιδεκάτῃ ἡμέρᾳ τοῦ μηνὸς τοῦ πρώτου ἀφ’ ἑσπέρας ἔδεσθε ἄζυμα ἕως ἡμέρας μιᾶς καὶ εἰκάδος τοῦ μηνὸς ἕως ἑσπέρας.
In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month, in the evening, you shall eat unleavened bread until the twenty-first day of the month, in the evening.

שבעת ימים שאר לא ימצא בבתיכם כי כל אכל מחמצת ונכרתה הנפש ההוא מעדת ישראל בגר ובאזרח הארץ
ἑπτὰ ἡμέρας ζύμη οὐχ εὑρεθήσεται ἐν ταῖς οἰκίαις ὑμῶν· πᾶς, ὃς ἂν φάγῃ ζυμωτόν, ἐξολεθρευθήσεται ἡ ψυχὴ ἐκείνη ἐκ συναγωγῆς Ισραηλ ἔν τε τοῖς γειώραις καὶ αὐτόχθοσιν τῆς γῆς·
For seven days no leaven shall be found in your houses, for whoever eats anything leavened, that soul shall be cut off from the assembly of Israel, whether the sojourner or the nativeⓘ of the land.

כל מחמצת לא תאכלו בכל מושבתיכם תאכלו מצות
πᾶν ζυμωτὸν οὐκ ἔδεσθε, ἐν παντὶ δὲ κατοικητηρίῳ ὑμῶν ἔδεσθε ἄζυμα.
You shall eat nothing leavened; in every dwelling of yours you shall eat unleavened bread.

ויקרא משה לכל זקני ישראל ויאמר אלהם משכו וקחו לכם צאן למשפחתיכם ושחטו הפסח
Ἐκάλεσεν δὲ Μωϋσῆς πᾶσαν γερουσίαν υἱῶν Ισραηλ καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτούς Ἀπελθόντες λάβετε ὑμῖν ἑαυτοῖς πρόβατον κατὰ συγγενείας ὑμῶν καὶ θύσατε τὸ πασχα.
And Moses called all the eldersⓘ of Israel and said to them: «Draw out and take for yourselves some of the small livestock according to your familiesⓘ, and slaughter the Passover.

ולקחתם אגדת אזוב וטבלתם בדם אשר בסף והגעתם אל המשקוף ואל שתי המזוזת מן הדם אשר בסף ואתם לא תצאו איש מפתח ביתו עד בקר
λήμψεσθε δὲ δεσμὴν ὑσσώπου καὶ βάψαντες ἀπὸ τοῦ αἵματος τοῦ παρὰ τὴν θύραν καθίξετε τῆς φλιᾶς καὶ ἐπ’ ἀμφοτέρων τῶν σταθμῶν ἀπὸ τοῦ αἵματος, ὅ ἐστιν παρὰ τὴν θύραν· ὑμεῖς δὲ οὐκ ἐξελεύσεσθε ἕκαστος τὴν θύραν τοῦ οἴκου αὐτοῦ ἕως πρωί.
And you shall take a bunch of hyssopⓘ and, dipped in the blood that is in the basin, you shall touch the lintel and the two doorposts with the blood that is in the basin; and none of you shall go out from the door of his house until the morning.
23
ועבר יהוה לנגף את מצרים וראה את הדם על המשקוף ועל שתי המזוזת ופסח יהוה על הפתח ולא יתן המשחית לבא אל בתיכם לנגף
καὶ παρελεύσεται κύριος πατάξαι τοὺς Αἰγυπτίους καὶ ὄψεται τὸ αἷμα ἐπὶ τῆς φλιᾶς καὶ ἐπ’ ἀμφοτέρων τῶν σταθμῶν, καὶ παρελεύσεται κύριος τὴν θύραν καὶ οὐκ ἀφήσει τὸν ὀλεθρεύοντα εἰσελθεῖν εἰς τὰς οἰκίας ὑμῶν πατάξαι.
And the Tetragrammaton will pass throughⓘ to strike Egypt, and he will see the blood on the lintel and on the two doorposts, and the Tetragrammaton will pass over protectingⓘ the door, and he will not let the destroyerⓘ enter your houses to strike.

ושמרתם את הדבר הזה לחק לך ולבניך עד עולם
καὶ φυλάξεσθε τὸ ῥῆμα τοῦτο νόμιμον σεαυτῷ καὶ τοῖς υἱοῖς σου ἕως αἰῶνος.
And you shall observeⓘ this word as a statute for you and for your children, forever.

והיה כי תבאו אל הארץ אשר יתן יהוה לכם כאשר דבר ושמרתם את העבדה הזאת
ἐὰν δὲ εἰσέλθητε εἰς τὴν γῆν, ἣν ἂν δῷ κύριος ὑμῖν, καθότι ἐλάλησεν, φυλάξεσθε τὴν λατρείαν ταύτην.
And it shall come to pass that, when you enter the land that the Tetragrammatonⓘ will give you, as he has promised, you shall observe this worshipⓘ.

והיה כי יאמרו אליכם בניכם מה העבדה הזאת לכם
καὶ ἔσται, ἐὰν λέγωσιν πρὸς ὑμᾶς οἱ υἱοὶ ὑμῶν Τίς ἡ λατρεία αὕτη;
And it shall come to pass that, when your childrenⓘ say to you: What is this worship to you?ⓘ,
27
ואמרתם זבח פסח הוא ליהוה אשר פסח על בתי בני ישראל במצרים בנגפו את מצרים ואת בתינו הציל ויקד העם וישתחוו
καὶ ἐρεῖτε αὐτοῖς Θυσία τὸ πασχα τοῦτο κυρίῳ, ὡς ἐσκέπασεν τοὺς οἴκους τῶν υἱῶν Ισραηλ ἐν Αἰγύπτῳ, ἡνίκα ἐπάταξεν τοὺς Αἰγυπτίους, τοὺς δὲ οἴκους ἡμῶν ἐρρύσατο. καὶ κύψας ὁ λαὸς προσεκύνησεν.
you shall say: It is the sacrifice of Passover for the Tetragrammatonⓘ, who passed over protectingⓘ the houses of the children of Israel in Egypt, when he struck Egypt and deliveredⓘ our houses». And the people bowed down and prostrated themselvesⓘ.

וילכו ויעשו בני ישראל כאשר צוה יהוה את משה ואהרן כן עשו
καὶ ἀπελθόντες ἐποίησαν οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ καθὰ ἐνετείλατο κύριος τῷ Μωυσῇ καὶ Ααρων, οὕτως ἐποίησαν.
And the children of Israel went and did as the Tetragrammaton had commandedⓘ Moses and Aaron: so they did.
