וידבר יהוה אל משה לאמר
Καὶ ἐλάλησεν κύριος πρὸς Μωυσῆν λέγων
And the ⓘ spoke to Moshè, saying:

דבר אל בני ישראל וישבו ויחנו לפני פי החירת בין מגדל ובין הים לפני בעל צפן נכחו תחנו על הים
Λάλησον τοῖς υἱοῖς Ισραηλ, καὶ ἀποστρέψαντες στρατοπεδευσάτωσαν ἀπέναντι τῆς ἐπαύλεως ἀνὰ μέσον Μαγδώλου καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον τῆς θαλάσσης ἐξ ἐναντίας Βεελσεπφων, ἐνώπιον αὐτῶν στρατοπεδεύσεις ἐπὶ τῆς θαλάσσης.
«Command the children of Israèl to turn back and encamp before ⓘ, between Migdòl and the sea, opposite Baʿal-Tzefòn: there, facing it, you shall encamp by the sea.

ואמר פרעה לבני ישראל נבכים הם בארץ סגר עליהם המדבר
καὶ ἐρεῖ Φαραω τῷ λαῷ αὐτοῦ Οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ πλανῶνται οὗτοι ἐν τῇ γῇ· συγκέκλεικεν γὰρ αὐτοὺς ἡ ἔρημος.
—— Septuagint (LXX) ——And Pharaoh will say ⓘ: «These children of Israèl ⓘin the land, for the wilderness has shut them in».—— Masoretic (MT) ——And Pharaoh will say concerning the children of Israèl: They ⓘ in the land, the wilderness has shut them in.

וחזקתי את לב פרעה ורדף אחריהם ואכבדה בפרעה ובכל חילו וידעו מצרים כי אני יהוה ויעשו כן
ἐγὼ δὲ σκληρυνῶ τὴν καρδίαν Φαραω, καὶ καταδιώξεται ὀπίσω αὐτῶν· καὶ ἐνδοξασθήσομαι ἐν Φαραω καὶ ἐν πάσῃ τῇ στρατιᾷ αὐτοῦ, καὶ γνώσονται πάντες οἱ Αἰγύπτιοι ὅτι ἐγώ εἰμι κύριος. καὶ ἐποίησαν οὕτως.
And I will harden the heart of Pharaoh ⓘ, and he will pursue them, and I will ⓘ in Pharaoh and in all his army, and the Egyptians shall know that I am the Tetragrammaton». And they did so.

ויגד למלך מצרים כי ברח העם ויהפך לבב פרעה ועבדיו אל העם ויאמרו מה זאת עשינו כי שלחנו את ישראל מעבדנו
καὶ ἀνηγγέλη τῷ βασιλεῖ τῶν Αἰγυπτίων ὅτι πέφευγεν ὁ λαός· καὶ μετεστράφη ἡ καρδία Φαραω καὶ τῶν θεραπόντων αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ τὸν λαόν, καὶ εἶπαν Τί τοῦτο ἐποιήσαμεν τοῦ ἐξαποστεῖλαι τοὺς υἱοὺς Ισραηλ τοῦ μὴ δουλεύειν ἡμῖν;
And it was reported to the king of Mitzràyim that the people had fled; and the heart of Pharaoh and of his servants was turned against the people, and they said: «What is this we have done, letting Israèl go from our service?».

ויאסר את רכבו ואת עמו לקח עמו
ἔζευξεν οὖν Φαραω τὰ ἅρματα αὐτοῦ καὶ πάντα τὸν λαὸν αὐτοῦ συναπήγαγεν μεθ’ ἑαυτοῦ
And he harnessed his ⓘ and took his people with him;

ויקח שש מאות רכב בחור וכל רכב מצרים ושלשם על כלו
καὶ λαβὼν ἑξακόσια ἅρματα ἐκλεκτὰ καὶ πᾶσαν τὴν ἵππον τῶν Αἰγυπτίων καὶ τριστάτας ἐπὶ πάντων.
and he took six hundred chosen chariots and all the chariots of Mitzràyim, and ⓘover every one of them.

ויחזק יהוה את לב פרעה מלך מצרים וירדף אחרי בני ישראל ובני ישראל יצאים ביד רמה
καὶ ἐσκλήρυνεν κύριος τὴν καρδίαν Φαραω βασιλέως Αἰγύπτου καὶ τῶν θεραπόντων αὐτοῦ, καὶ κατεδίωξεν ὀπίσω τῶν υἱῶν Ισραηλ· οἱ δὲ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ ἐξεπορεύοντο ἐν χειρὶ ὑψηλῇ.
—— Septuagint (LXX) ——And the Tetragrammaton hardened the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt ⓘ, and he pursued the children of Israèl; but the children of Israèl were going out ⓘ.—— Masoretic (MT) ——And the Tetragrammaton strengthened the heart of Pharaoh king of Mitzràyim, and he pursued the children of Israèl, while the children of Israèl were going out ⓘ.

וירדפו מצרים אחריהם וישיגו אותם חנים על הים כל סוס רכב פרעה ופרשיו וחילו על פי החירת לפני בעל צפן
καὶ κατεδίωξαν οἱ Αἰγύπτιοι ὀπίσω αὐτῶν καὶ εὕροσαν αὐτοὺς παρεμβεβληκότας παρὰ τὴν θάλασσαν, καὶ πᾶσα ἡ ἵππος καὶ τὰ ἅρματα Φαραω καὶ οἱ ἱππεῖς καὶ ἡ στρατιὰ αὐτοῦ ἀπέναντι τῆς ἐπαύλεως ἐξ ἐναντίας Βεελσεπφων.
And the Egyptians pursued them — all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, his ⓘ and his army — and overtook them while they were encamped by the sea, by Pi ha-Chiròt, opposite Baʿal-Tzefòn.

ופרעה הקריב וישאו בני ישראל את עיניהם והנה מצרים נסע אחריהם וייראו מאד ויצעקו בני ישראל אל יהוה
καὶ Φαραω προσῆγεν· καὶ ἀναβλέψαντες οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ τοῖς ὀφθαλμοῖς ὁρῶσιν, καὶ οἱ Αἰγύπτιοι ἐστρατοπέδευσαν ὀπίσω αὐτῶν, καὶ ἐφοβήθησαν σφόδρα· ἀνεβόησαν δὲ οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ πρὸς κύριον.
And Pharaoh drew near; and the children of Israèl lifted up their eyes, and behold: Mitzràyim was advancing behind them, and they were greatly afraid; and the children of Israèl cried out to the Tetragrammaton.

ויאמרו אל משה המבלי אין קברים במצרים לקחתנו למות במדבר מה זאת עשית לנו להוציאנו ממצרים
καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς Μωυσῆν Παρὰ τὸ μὴ ὑπάρχειν μνήματα ἐν γῇ Αἰγύπτῳ ἐξήγαγες ἡμᾶς θανατῶσαι ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ; τί τοῦτο ἐποίησας ἡμῖν ἐξαγαγὼν ἐξ Αἰγύπτου;
And they said to Moshè: «Was it perhaps because there were no graves in Mitzràyim that you have taken us to die in the wilderness? What is this you have done to us, bringing us out of Mitzràyim?

הלא זה הדבר אשר דברנו אליך במצרים לאמר חדל ממנו ונעבדה את מצרים כי טוב לנו עבד את מצרים ממתנו במדבר
οὐ τοῦτο ἦν τὸ ῥῆμα, ὃ ἐλαλήσαμεν πρὸς σὲ ἐν Αἰγύπτῳ λέγοντες Πάρες ἡμᾶς, ὅπως δουλεύσωμεν τοῖς Αἰγυπτίοις; κρεῖσσον γὰρ ἡμᾶς δουλεύειν τοῖς Αἰγυπτίοις ἢ ἀποθανεῖν ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ ταύτῃ.
Is this not the very word we spoke to you in Mitzràyim: Let us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians? For it would be better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the wilderness».

ויאמר משה אל העם אל תיראו התיצבו וראו את ישועת יהוה אשר יעשה לכם היום כי אשר ראיתם את מצרים היום לא תסיפו לראתם עוד עד עולם
εἶπεν δὲ Μωϋσῆς πρὸς τὸν λαόν Θαρσεῖτε· στῆτε καὶ ὁρᾶτε τὴν σωτηρίαν τὴν παρὰ τοῦ θεοῦ, ἣν ποιήσει ἡμῖν σήμερον· ὃν τρόπον γὰρ ἑωράκατε τοὺς Αἰγυπτίους σήμερον, οὐ προσθήσεσθε ἔτι ἰδεῖν αὐτοὺς εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα χρόνον·
And Moshè said to the people: «Fear not! Stand firm and you shall see the salvation of the Tetragrammaton ⓘ ⓘwhich he will accomplish for you today: for as you see the Egyptians today, you shall never see them again, for ever.

יהוה ילחם לכם ואתם תחרישון
κύριος πολεμήσει περὶ ὑμῶν, καὶ ὑμεῖς σιγήσετε.
**The Tetragrammaton will fight for you, and you ⓘ.
15
ויאמר יהוה אל משה מה תצעק אלי דבר אל בני ישראל ויסעו
Εἶπεν δὲ κύριος πρὸς Μωυσῆν Τί βοᾷς πρός με; λάλησον τοῖς υἱοῖς Ισραηλ, καὶ ἀναζευξάτωσαν·
And the Tetragrammaton said to Moshè: «**Why do you cry out to me? Speak to the children of Israèl and let them ⓘ.
16
ואתה הרם את מטך ונטה את ידך על הים ובקעהו ויבאו בני ישראל בתוך הים ביבשה
καὶ σὺ ἔπαρον τῇ ῥάβδῳ σου καὶ ἔκτεινον τὴν χεῖρά σου ἐπὶ τὴν θάλασσαν καὶ ῥῆξον αὐτήν, καὶ εἰσελθάτωσαν οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ εἰς μέσον τῆς θαλάσσης κατὰ τὸ ξηρόν.
And you, lift up your staff and stretch out your hand over the sea and ⓘ, and let the children of Israèl enter into the midst of the sea on dry ground.
17
ואני הנני מחזק את לב מצרים ויבאו אחריהם ואכבדה בפרעה ובכל חילו ברכבו ובפרשיו
καὶ ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ σκληρυνῶ τὴν καρδίαν Φαραω καὶ τῶν Αἰγυπτίων πάντων, καὶ εἰσελεύσονται ὀπίσω αὐτῶν· καὶ ἐνδοξασθήσομαι ἐν Φαραω καὶ ἐν πάσῃ τῇ στρατιᾷ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐν τοῖς ἅρμασιν καὶ ἐν τοῖς ἵπποις αὐτοῦ.
And behold, I am hardening the heart of the Egyptians, and they will enter behind them, and I will glorify myself in Pharaoh and in all his army, in his chariots and in his horsemen.
18
וידעו מצרים כי אני יהוה בהכבדי בפרעה ברכבו ובפרשיו
καὶ γνώσονται πάντες οἱ Αἰγύπτιοι ὅτι ἐγώ εἰμι κύριος ἐνδοξαζομένου μου ἐν Φαραω καὶ ἐν τοῖς ἅρμασιν καὶ ἵπποις αὐτοῦ.
And the Egyptians shall know that I am the Tetragrammaton, when I have ⓘin Pharaoh, in his chariots and in his horsemen».
19
ויסע מלאך האלהים ההלך לפני מחנה ישראל וילך מאחריהם ויסע עמוד הענן מפניהם ויעמד מאחריהם
ἐξῆρεν δὲ ὁ ἄγγελος τοῦ θεοῦ ὁ προπορευόμενος τῆς παρεμβολῆς τῶν υἱῶν Ισραηλ καὶ ἐπορεύθη ἐκ τῶν ὄπισθεν· ἐξῆρεν δὲ καὶ ὁ στῦλος τῆς νεφέλης ἀπὸ προσώπου αὐτῶν καὶ ἔστη ἐκ τῶν ὀπίσω αὐτῶν.
And **the ⓘ, who went before the camp of Israèl, moved and went behind them; and the ⓘmoved from before them and stood behind them,
20
ויבא בין מחנה מצרים ובין מחנה ישראל ויהי הענן והחשך ויאר את הלילה ולא קרב זה אל זה כל הלילה
καὶ εἰσῆλθεν ἀνὰ μέσον τῆς παρεμβολῆς τῶν Αἰγυπτίων καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον τῆς παρεμβολῆς Ισραηλ καὶ ἔστη· καὶ ἐγένετο σκότος καὶ γνόφος, καὶ διῆλθεν ἡ νύξ, καὶ οὐ συνέμιξαν ἀλλήλοις ὅλην τὴν νύκτα·
—— Septuagint (LXX) ——and it came between the camp of the Egyptians and the camp of Israèl, and it stood still; and there came ⓘ, ⓘ, and they did not mingle one with another all the night.—— Masoretic (MT) ——and it came between the camp of Mitzràyim and the camp of Israèl; and there was ⓘ, and it gave light to the night, and the one did not draw near the other all the night.

ויט משה את ידו על הים ויולך יהוה את הים ברוח קדים עזה כל הלילה וישם את הים לחרבה ויבקעו המים
ἐξέτεινεν δὲ Μωϋσῆς τὴν χεῖρα ἐπὶ τὴν θάλασσαν, καὶ ὑπήγαγεν κύριος τὴν θάλασσαν ἐν ἀνέμῳ νότῳ βιαίῳ ὅλην τὴν νύκτα καὶ ἐποίησεν τὴν θάλασσαν ξηράν, καὶ ἐσχίσθη τὸ ὕδωρ.
—— Septuagint (LXX) ——And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and the Tetragrammaton drove the sea back with a **violent ⓘ all the night, and made the sea dry, and the water was cleft ⓘ.—— Masoretic (MT) ——And Moshè stretched out his hand over the sea, and the Tetragrammaton drove the sea back with a **strong ⓘ all the night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided ⓘ.

ויבאו בני ישראל בתוך הים ביבשה והמים להם חמה מימינם ומשמאלם
καὶ εἰσῆλθον οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ εἰς μέσον τῆς θαλάσσης κατὰ τὸ ξηρόν, καὶ τὸ ὕδωρ αὐτοῖς τεῖχος ἐκ δεξιῶν καὶ τεῖχος ἐξ εὐωνύμων·
And the children of Israèl entered into the midst of the sea on dry ground, and the waters were for them ⓘ on their right and on their left.
23
וירדפו מצרים ויבאו אחריהם כל סוס פרעה רכבו ופרשיו אל תוך הים
κατεδίωξαν δὲ οἱ Αἰγύπτιοι καὶ εἰσῆλθον ὀπίσω αὐτῶν, πᾶσα ἡ ἵππος Φαραω καὶ τὰ ἅρματα καὶ οἱ ἀναβάται, εἰς μέσον τῆς θαλάσσης.
And the Egyptians pursued them and entered behind them — all the horses of Pharaoh, his chariots and his ⓘ— into the midst of the sea.

ויהי באשמרת הבקר וישקף יהוה אל מחנה מצרים בעמוד אש וענן ויהם את מחנה מצרים
ἐγενήθη δὲ ἐν τῇ φυλακῇ τῇ ἑωθινῇ καὶ ἐπέβλεψεν κύριος ἐπὶ τὴν παρεμβολὴν τῶν Αἰγυπτίων ἐν στύλῳ πυρὸς καὶ νεφέλης καὶ συνετάραξεν τὴν παρεμβολὴν τῶν Αἰγυπτίων
And it came to pass in the ⓘthat the Tetragrammaton looked toward the camp of the Egyptians from the pillar of fire and of cloud, and threw the camp of the Egyptians into confusion;

ויסר את אפן מרכבתיו וינהגהו בכבדת ויאמר מצרים אנוסה מפני ישראל כי יהוה נלחם להם במצרים
καὶ συνέδησεν τοὺς ἄξονας τῶν ἁρμάτων αὐτῶν καὶ ἤγαγεν αὐτοὺς μετὰ βίας. καὶ εἶπαν οἱ Αἰγύπτιοι Φύγωμεν ἀπὸ προσώπου Ισραηλ· ὁ γὰρ κύριος πολεμεῖ περὶ αὐτῶν τοὺς Αἰγυπτίους.
—— Septuagint (LXX) ——and he ⓘthe ⓘ of their chariots and led them on with difficulty. And the Egyptians said: «Let us flee from before Israèl, for the Tetragrammaton fights for them against the Egyptians».—— Masoretic (MT) ——and he ⓘ the wheels of their chariots and made them advance with toil. And Mitzràyim said: «Let us flee from before Israèl, for the Tetragrammaton fights for them against Mitzràyim».

ויאמר יהוה אל משה נטה את ידך על הים וישבו המים על מצרים על רכבו ועל פרשיו
εἶπεν δὲ κύριος πρὸς Μωυσῆν Ἔκτεινον τὴν χεῖρά σου ἐπὶ τὴν θάλασσαν, καὶ ἀποκαταστήτω τὸ ὕδωρ καὶ ἐπικαλυψάτω τοὺς Αἰγυπτίους, ἐπί τε τὰ ἅρματα καὶ τοὺς ἀναβάτας.
And the Tetragrammaton said to Moshè: «Stretch out your hand over the sea, and let the waters return upon the Egyptians, upon their chariots and upon their horsemen».

ויט משה את ידו על הים וישב הים לפנות בקר לאיתנו ומצרים נסים לקראתו וינער יהוה את מצרים בתוך הים
ἐξέτεινεν δὲ Μωϋσῆς τὴν χεῖρα ἐπὶ τὴν θάλασσαν, καὶ ἀπεκατέστη τὸ ὕδωρ πρὸς ἡμέραν ἐπὶ χώρας· οἱ δὲ Αἰγύπτιοι ἔφυγον ὑπὸ τὸ ὕδωρ, καὶ ἐξετίναξεν κύριος τοὺς Αἰγυπτίους μέσον τῆς θαλάσσης.
And Moshè stretched out his hand over the sea, and toward morning the sea returned ⓘ, while the Egyptians were fleeing toward it; and the Tetragrammaton ⓘ the Egyptians into the midst of the sea.
28
וישבו המים ויכסו את הרכב ואת הפרשים לכל חיל פרעה הבאים אחריהם בים לא נשאר בהם עד אחד
καὶ ἐπαναστραφὲν τὸ ὕδωρ ἐκάλυψεν τὰ ἅρματα καὶ τοὺς ἀναβάτας καὶ πᾶσαν τὴν δύναμιν Φαραω τοὺς εἰσπεπορευμένους ὀπίσω αὐτῶν εἰς τὴν θάλασσαν, καὶ οὐ κατελείφθη ἐξ αὐτῶν οὐδὲ εἷς.
And the waters returned and covered the chariots and the horsemen of all the army of Pharaoh that had entered behind them into the sea: not even one of them remained.
29
ובני ישראל הלכו ביבשה בתוך הים והמים להם חמה מימינם ומשמאלם
οἱ δὲ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ ἐπορεύθησαν διὰ ξηρᾶς ἐν μέσῳ τῆς θαλάσσης, τὸ δὲ ὕδωρ αὐτοῖς τεῖχος ἐκ δεξιῶν καὶ τεῖχος ἐξ εὐωνύμων.
And the children of Israèl walked on dry ground in the midst of the sea, and the waters were for them a wall on their right and on their left.

ויושע יהוה ביום ההוא את ישראל מיד מצרים וירא ישראל את מצרים מת על שפת הים
καὶ ἐρρύσατο κύριος τὸν Ισραηλ ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ἐκείνῃ ἐκ χειρὸς τῶν Αἰγυπτίων· καὶ εἶδεν Ισραηλ τοὺς Αἰγυπτίους τεθνηκότας παρὰ τὸ χεῖλος τῆς θαλάσσης.
And the Tetragrammaton saved Israèl on that day from the hand of Mitzràyim, and Israèl saw the Egyptians ⓘon the shore of the sea.
31
וירא ישראל את היד הגדלה אשר עשה יהוה במצרים וייראו העם את יהוה ויאמינו ביהוה ובמשה עבדו
εἶδεν δὲ Ισραηλ τὴν χεῖρα τὴν μεγάλην, ἃ ἐποίησεν κύριος τοῖς Αἰγυπτίοις· ἐφοβήθη δὲ ὁ λαὸς τὸν κύριον καὶ ἐπίστευσαν τῷ θεῷ καὶ Μωυσῇ τῷ θεράποντι αὐτοῦ.
And **Israèl saw ⓘ which the Tetragrammaton had wrought against Mitzràyim; and the people feared the Tetragrammaton, and they believed in the Tetragrammaton and in Moshè his servant ⓘ ⓘ.
