בחדש השלישי לצאת בני ישראל מארץ מצרים ביום הזה באו מדבר סיני
Τοῦ δὲ μηνὸς τοῦ τρίτου τῆς ἐξόδου τῶν υἱῶν Ισραηλ ἐκ γῆς Αἰγύπτου τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ταύτῃ ἤλθοσαν εἰς τὴν ἔρημον τοῦ Σινα.
In the ⓘ after the departure of the children of Israel from the land of Egypt, on that very day they came to the ⓘ.

ויסעו מרפידים ויבאו מדבר סיני ויחנו במדבר ויחן שם ישראל נגד ההר
καὶ ἐξῆραν ἐκ Ραφιδιν καὶ ἤλθοσαν εἰς τὴν ἔρημον τοῦ Σινα, καὶ παρενέβαλεν ἐκεῖ Ισραηλ κατέναντι τοῦ ὄρους.
Having set out from Rephidim, they came to the wilderness of Sinai and encamped in the wilderness; and ⓘ there, in front of the mountain.

ומשה עלה אל האלהים ויקרא אליו יהוה מן ההר לאמר כה תאמר לבית יעקב ותגיד לבני ישראל
καὶ Μωϋσῆς ἀνέβη εἰς τὸ ὄρος τοῦ θεοῦ· καὶ ἐκάλεσεν αὐτὸν ὁ θεὸς ἐκ τοῦ ὄρους λέγων Τάδε ἐρεῖς τῷ οἴκῳ Ιακωβ καὶ ἀναγγελεῖς τοῖς υἱοῖς Ισραηλ

אתם ראיתם אשר עשיתי למצרים ואשא אתכם על כנפי נשרים ואבא אתכם אלי
Αὐτοὶ ἑωράκατε ὅσα πεποίηκα τοῖς Αἰγυπτίοις, καὶ ἀνέλαβον ὑμᾶς ὡσεὶ ἐπὶ πτερύγων ἀετῶν καὶ προσηγαγόμην ὑμᾶς πρὸς ἐμαυτόν.
You yourselves have seen what I did to Egypt, how ⓘ, and brought you to myself.

ועתה אם שמוע תשמעו בקלי ושמרתם את בריתי והייתם לי סגלה מכל העמים כי לי כל הארץ
καὶ νῦν ἐὰν ἀκοῇ ἀκούσητε τῆς ἐμῆς φωνῆς καὶ φυλάξητε τὴν διαθήκην μου, ἔσεσθέ μοι λαὸς περιούσιος ἀπὸ πάντων τῶν ἐθνῶν· ἐμὴ γάρ ἐστιν πᾶσα ἡ γῆ·
Now therefore, if you will truly listen to my voice and ⓘ, you shall be for me a ⓘ among all peoples — for all the earth is mine —

ואתם תהיו לי ממלכת כהנים וגוי קדוש אלה הדברים אשר תדבר אל בני ישראל
ὑμεῖς δὲ ἔσεσθέ μοι βασίλειον ἱεράτευμα καὶ ἔθνος ἅγιον. ταῦτα τὰ ῥήματα ἐρεῖς τοῖς υἱοῖς Ισραηλ.
and you shall be for me a ⓘ and a ⓘ. These are the words that you shall speak to the children of Israel.

ויבא משה ויקרא לזקני העם וישם לפניהם את כל הדברים האלה אשר צוהו יהוה
ἦλθεν δὲ Μωϋσῆς καὶ ἐκάλεσεν τοὺς πρεσβυτέρους τοῦ λαοῦ καὶ παρέθηκεν αὐτοῖς πάντας τοὺς λόγους τούτους, οὓς συνέταξεν αὐτῷ ὁ θεός.
Mosheh returned, summoned the elders of the people, and set before them all these words that ⓘ had commanded him.

ויענו כל העם יחדו ויאמרו כל אשר דבר יהוה נעשה וישב משה את דברי העם אל יהוה
ἀπεκρίθη δὲ πᾶς ὁ λαὸς ὁμοθυμαδὸν καὶ εἶπαν Πάντα, ὅσα εἶπεν ὁ θεός, ποιήσομεν καὶ ἀκουσόμεθα. ἀνήνεγκεν δὲ Μωϋσῆς τοὺς λόγους τοῦ λαοῦ πρὸς τὸν θεόν.
—— Septuagint (LXX) ——And all the people answered ⓘ and said: All that God has said, ⓘ. And Mosheh brought back the words of the people to God.—— Masoretic (MT) ——And all the people answered in unison: ⓘ. And Mosheh reported the words of the people ⓘ.

ויאמר יהוה אל משה הנה אנכי בא אליך בעב הענן בעבור ישמע העם בדברי עמך וגם בך יאמינו לעולם ויגד משה את דברי העם אל יהוה
εἶπεν δὲ κύριος πρὸς Μωυσῆν Ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ παραγίνομαι πρὸς σὲ ἐν στύλῳ νεφέλης, ἵνα ἀκούσῃ ὁ λαὸς λαλοῦντός μου πρὸς σὲ καὶ σοὶ πιστεύσωσιν εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα. ἀνήγγειλεν δὲ Μωϋσῆς τὰ ῥήματα τοῦ λαοῦ πρὸς κύριον.
—— Septuagint (LXX) ——And ⓘ said to Mosheh: Behold, I am coming to you in a ⓘ, that the people may hear when I speak with you and may believe in you forever. ויאמר יהוה אל משה לך אל העם וקדשתם היום ומחר וכבסו שמלתם
εἶπεν δὲ κύριος πρὸς Μωυσῆν Καταβὰς διαμάρτυραι τῷ λαῷ καὶ ἅγνισον αὐτοὺς σήμερον καὶ αὔριον, καὶ πλυνάτωσαν τὰ ἱμάτια·
—— Septuagint (LXX) ——And the Tetragrammaton said to Mosheh: Having gone down, ⓘ and ⓘ today and tomorrow, and let them wash their garments,—— Masoretic (MT) ——And the Tetragrammaton said to Mosheh: Go to the people and ⓘ today and tomorrow, and let them wash their garments,

והיו נכנים ליום השלישי כי ביום השלישי ירד יהוה לעיני כל העם על הר סיני
καὶ ἔστωσαν ἕτοιμοι εἰς τὴν ἡμέραν τὴν τρίτην· τῇ γὰρ ἡμέρᾳ τῇ τρίτῃ καταβήσεται κύριος ἐπὶ τὸ ὄρος τὸ Σινα ἐναντίον παντὸς τοῦ λαοῦ.
and let them be ready for the third day, for on the third day the Tetragrammaton will come down before the eyes of all the people upon Mount Sinai.

והגבלת את העם סביב לאמר השמרו לכם עלות בהר ונגע בקצהו כל הנגע בהר מות יומת
καὶ ἀφοριεῖς τὸν λαὸν κύκλῳ λέγων Προσέχετε ἑαυτοῖς τοῦ ἀναβῆναι εἰς τὸ ὄρος καὶ θιγεῖν τι αὐτοῦ· πᾶς ὁ ἁψάμενος τοῦ ὄρους θανάτῳ τελευτήσει.
You shall set a ⓘ all around the people, saying: Take heed not to go up the mountain or to touch even its edge; whoever touches the mountain ⓘ.

לא תגע בו יד כי סקול יסקל או ירה יירה אם בהמה אם איש לא יחיה במשך היבל המה יעלו בהר
οὐχ ἅψεται αὐτοῦ χείρ· ἐν γὰρ λίθοις λιθοβοληθήσεται ἢ βολίδι κατατοξευθήσεται· ἐάν τε κτῆνος ἐάν τε ἄνθρωπος, οὐ ζήσεται. ὅταν αἱ φωναὶ καὶ αἱ σάλπιγγες καὶ ἡ νεφέλη ἀπέλθῃ ἀπὸ τοῦ ὄρους, ἐκεῖνοι ἀναβήσονται ἐπὶ τὸ ὄρος.
No hand shall touch him — let him be stoned or ⓘ, whether beast or man, he shall not live. Only at the prolonged sounding of the ⓘ shall they go up the mountain.

וירד משה מן ההר אל העם ויקדש את העם ויכבסו שמלתם
κατέβη δὲ Μωϋσῆς ἐκ τοῦ ὄρους πρὸς τὸν λαὸν καὶ ἡγίασεν αὐτούς, καὶ ἔπλυναν τὰ ἱμάτια.
Mosheh went down from the mountain to the people, sanctified the people, and they washed their garments.

ויאמר אל העם היו נכנים לשלשת ימים אל תגשו אל אשה
καὶ εἶπεν τῷ λαῷ Γίνεσθε ἕτοιμοι τρεῖς ἡμέρας, μὴ προσέλθητε γυναικί.
And he said to the people: Be ready for the third day; do not approach a woman.

ויהי ביום השלישי בהית הבקר ויהי קלת וברקים וענן כבד על ההר וקל שפר חזק מאד ויחרד כל העם אשר במחנה
ἐγένετο δὲ τῇ ἡμέρᾳ τῇ τρίτῃ γενηθέντος πρὸς ὄρθρον καὶ ἐγίνοντο φωναὶ καὶ ἀστραπαὶ καὶ νεφέλη γνοφώδης ἐπ’ ὄρους Σινα, φωνὴ τῆς σάλπιγγος ἤχει μέγα· καὶ ἐπτοήθη πᾶς ὁ λαὸς ὁ ἐν τῇ παρεμβολῇ.
On the third day, at daybreak, behold ⓘ, a dense cloud upon the mountain and a very ⓘ blast of a ⓘ; and all the people in the camp trembled.

ויוצא משה את העם לקראת האלהים מן המחנה ויתיצבו בתחתית ההר
καὶ ἐξήγαγεν Μωϋσῆς τὸν λαὸν εἰς συνάντησιν τοῦ θεοῦ ἐκ τῆς παρεμβολῆς, καὶ παρέστησαν ὑπὸ τὸ ὄρος.
Mosheh brought the people out of the camp ⓘ, and they stood at the foot of the mountain.

והר סיני עשן כלו מפני אשר ירד עליו יהוה באש ויעל עשנו כעשן הכבשן ויחרד כל ההר מאד
τὸ δὲ ὄρος τὸ Σινα ἐκαπνίζετο ὅλον διὰ τὸ καταβεβηκέναι ἐπ’ αὐτὸ τὸν θεὸν ἐν πυρί, καὶ ἀνέβαινεν ὁ καπνὸς ὡς καπνὸς καμίνου, καὶ ἐξέστη πᾶς ὁ λαὸς σφόδρα.
—— Septuagint (LXX) ——All Mount Sinai ⓘ because God had come down upon it in fire; and its smoke went up like the smoke of a furnace, and ⓘ.—— Masoretic (MT) ——Mount Sinai was all ⓘ, because ⓘ had come down upon it in fire; the smoke went up like the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mountain trembled violently.

ויהי קול השופר הולך וחזק מאד משה ידבר והאלהים יעננו בקול
ἐγίνοντο δὲ αἱ φωναὶ τῆς σάλπιγγος προβαίνουσαι ἰσχυρότεραι σφόδρα· Μωϋσῆς ἐλάλει, ὁ δὲ θεὸς ἀπεκρίνατο αὐτῷ φωνῇ.
The sound of the horn ⓘ; Mosheh spoke, and ⓘ answered him ⓘ.

וירד יהוה על הר סיני אל ראש ההר ויקרא יהוה למשה אל ראש ההר ויעל משה
κατέβη δὲ κύριος ἐπὶ τὸ ὄρος τὸ Σινα ἐπὶ τὴν κορυφὴν τοῦ ὄρους· καὶ ἐκάλεσεν κύριος Μωυσῆν ἐπὶ τὴν κορυφὴν τοῦ ὄρους, καὶ ἀνέβη Μωϋσῆς.
ⓘ came down upon Mount Sinai, upon the summit of the mountain, and the Tetragrammaton called Mosheh to the summit of the mountain; and Mosheh went up.

ויאמר יהוה אל משה רד העד בעם פן יהרסו אל יהוה לראות ונפל ממנו רב
καὶ εἶπεν ὁ θεὸς πρὸς Μωυσῆν λέγων Καταβὰς διαμάρτυραι τῷ λαῷ, μήποτε ἐγγίσωσιν πρὸς τὸν θεὸν κατανοῆσαι καὶ πέσωσιν ἐξ αὐτῶν πλῆθος·
And ⓘ said to Mosheh: Go down, sternly admonish the people lest they break through beyond the limit toward ⓘ to look, for many of them would perish.
22
וגם הכהנים הנגשים אל יהוה יתקדשו פן יפרץ בהם יהוה
καὶ οἱ ἱερεῖς οἱ ἐγγίζοντες κυρίῳ τῷ θεῷ ἁγιασθήτωσαν, μήποτε ἀπαλλάξῃ ἀπ’ αὐτῶν κύριος.
And also ⓘ who draw near to the ⓘ shall sanctify themselves, lest the Tetragrammaton break out against them.

ויאמר משה אל יהוה לא יוכל העם לעלת אל הר סיני כי אתה העדתה בנו לאמר הגבל את ההר וקדשתו
καὶ εἶπεν Μωϋσῆς πρὸς τὸν θεόν Οὐ δυνήσεται ὁ λαὸς προσαναβῆναι πρὸς τὸ ὄρος τὸ Σινα· σὺ γὰρ διαμεμαρτύρησαι ἡμῖν λέγων Ἀφόρισαι τὸ ὄρος καὶ ἁγίασαι αὐτό.
And Mosheh said to the ⓘ: The people cannot go up Mount Sinai, for you yourself have admonished us saying: Set bounds about the mountain and sanctify it.

ויאמר אליו יהוה לך רד ועלית אתה ואהרן עמך והכהנים והעם אל יהרסו לעלת אל יהוה פן יפרץ בם
εἶπεν δὲ αὐτῷ κύριος Βάδιζε κατάβηθι καὶ ἀνάβηθι σὺ καὶ Ααρων μετὰ σοῦ· οἱ δὲ ἱερεῖς καὶ ὁ λαὸς μὴ βιαζέσθωσαν ἀναβῆναι πρὸς τὸν θεόν, μήποτε ἀπολέσῃ ἀπ’ αὐτῶν κύριος.
And ⓘ said to him: Go, go down, then come up, you together with Aharòn; but let not the priests and the people break through to come up toward ⓘ, lest he break out against them.
25
וירד משה אל העם ויאמר אלהם
κατέβη δὲ Μωϋσῆς πρὸς τὸν λαὸν καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς.
And Mosheh went down to the people and ⓘ.
