ואלה המשפטים אשר תשים לפניהם
Καὶ ταῦτα τὰ δικαιώματα, ἃ παραθήσεις ἐνώπιον αὐτῶν.
And these are the ⓘ, the ordinances you shall set before them.

כי תקנה עבד עברי שש שנים יעבד ובשבעת יצא לחפשי חנם
ἐὰν κτήσῃ παῖδα Εβραῖον, ἓξ ἔτη δουλεύσει σοι· τῷ δὲ ἑβδόμῳ ἔτει ἀπελεύσεται ἐλεύθερος δωρεάν.
When you buy a ⓘ, six years he shall serve, and in the seventh he shall go free, ⓘ.

אם בגפו יבא בגפו יצא אם בעל אשה הוא ויצאה אשתו עמו
ἐὰν αὐτὸς μόνος εἰσέλθῃ, καὶ μόνος ἐξελεύσεται· ἐὰν δὲ γυνὴ συνεισέλθῃ μετ’ αὐτοῦ, ἐξελεύσεται καὶ ἡ γυνὴ μετ’ αὐτοῦ.
If he came in ⓘ, alone he shall go out; if he had a wife, the wife shall go out with him.

אם אדניו יתן לו אשה וילדה לו בנים או בנות האשה וילדיה תהיה לאדניה והוא יצא בגפו
ἐὰν δὲ ὁ κύριος δῷ αὐτῷ γυναῖκα, καὶ τέκῃ αὐτῷ υἱοὺς ἢ θυγατέρας, ἡ γυνὴ καὶ τὰ παιδία ἔσται τῷ κυρίῳ αὐτοῦ, αὐτὸς δὲ μόνος ἐξελεύσεται.
If the master gave him a wife and she bore him sons or daughters, the wife and the children shall remain the master's, and he shall go out alone.

ואם אמר יאמר העבד אהבתי את אדני את אשתי ואת בני לא אצא חפשי
ἐὰν δὲ ἀποκριθεὶς εἴπῃ ὁ παῖς Ἠγάπηκα τὸν κύριόν μου καὶ τὴν γυναῖκα καὶ τὰ παιδία, οὐκ ἀποτρέχω ἐλεύθερος·
But if the servant openly declares: «ⓘ my master, my wife and my children, I will not go out free»,

והגישו אדניו אל האלהים והגישו אל הדלת או אל המזוזה ורצע אדניו את אזנו במרצע ועבדו לעלם
προσάξει αὐτὸν ὁ κύριος αὐτοῦ πρὸς τὸ κριτήριον τοῦ θεοῦ καὶ τότε προσάξει αὐτὸν ἐπὶ τὴν θύραν ἐπὶ τὸν σταθμόν, καὶ τρυπήσει αὐτοῦ ὁ κύριος τὸ οὖς τῷ ὀπητίῳ, καὶ δουλεύσει αὐτῷ εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα. –
then the master shall bring him before ⓘ, he shall bring him near to the door or the doorpost, and he shall ⓘ, and he shall serve him ⓘ.

וכי ימכר איש את בתו לאמה לא תצא כצאת העבדים
ἐὰν δέ τις ἀποδῶται τὴν ἑαυτοῦ θυγατέρα οἰκέτιν, οὐκ ἀπελεύσεται ὥσπερ ἀποτρέχουσιν αἱ δοῦλαι.
If a man sells his daughter as a ⓘ, she shall not go out as the menservants go out.

אם רעה בעיני אדניה אשר לא לו יעדה והפדה לעם נכרי לא ימשל למכרה בבגדו בה
ἐὰν μὴ εὐαρεστήσῃ τῷ κυρίῳ αὐτῆς ἣν αὑτῷ καθωμολογήσατο, ἀπολυτρώσει αὐτήν· ἔθνει δὲ ἀλλοτρίῳ οὐ κύριός ἐστιν πωλεῖν αὐτήν, ὅτι ἠθέτησεν ἐν αὐτῇ.
If she displeases her master who had designated her for himself, he shall let her be redeemed; he shall have no right to sell her to a foreign people, ⓘ.

ואם לבנו ייעדנה כמשפט הבנות יעשה לה
ἐὰν δὲ τῷ υἱῷ καθομολογήσηται αὐτήν, κατὰ τὸ δικαίωμα τῶν θυγατέρων ποιήσει αὐτῇ.
If he designates her for his own son, he shall treat her according to the right of daughters.

אם אחרת יקח לו שארה כסותה וענתה לא יגרע
ἐὰν δὲ ἄλλην λάβῃ ἑαυτῷ, τὰ δέοντα καὶ τὸν ἱματισμὸν καὶ τὴν ὁμιλίαν αὐτῆς οὐκ ἀποστερήσει.
If he takes another for himself, he shall not withhold from the first ⓘ.
11
ואם שלש אלה לא יעשה לה ויצאה חנם אין כסף
ἐὰν δὲ τὰ τρία ταῦτα μὴ ποιήσῃ αὐτῇ, ἐξελεύσεται δωρεὰν ἄνευ ἀργυρίου.
And if he does not do these three things for her, she shall go out for nothing, without silver.

מכה איש ומת מות יומת
Ἐὰν δὲ πατάξῃ τίς τινα, καὶ ἀποθάνῃ, θανάτῳ θανατούσθω·
Whoever strikes a man so that he dies shall be put to death.
13
ואשר לא צדה והאלהים אנה לידו ושמתי לך מקום אשר ינוס שמה
ὁ δὲ οὐχ ἑκών, ἀλλὰ ὁ θεὸς παρέδωκεν εἰς τὰς χεῖρας αὐτοῦ, δώσω σοι τόπον, οὗ φεύξεται ἐκεῖ ὁ φονεύσας.
But if he had not lain in wait for him, and ⓘ, I will appoint you a place where he may flee.

וכי יזד איש על רעהו להרגו בערמה מעם מזבחי תקחנו למות
ἐὰν δέ τις ἐπιθῆται τῷ πλησίον ἀποκτεῖναι αὐτὸν δόλῳ καὶ καταφύγῃ, ἀπὸ τοῦ θυσιαστηρίου μου λήμψῃ αὐτὸν θανατῶσαι. –
But if anyone lies in wait for his neighbor to kill him ⓘ, you shall take him even ⓘ to put him to death.
15
ומכה אביו ואמו מות יומת
ὃς τύπτει πατέρα αὐτοῦ ἢ μητέρα αὐτοῦ, θανάτῳ θανατούσθω.
Whoever strikes his father or his mother shall be put to death.
16
וגנב איש ומכרו ונמצא בידו מות יומת
ὁ κακολογῶν πατέρα αὐτοῦ ἢ μητέρα αὐτοῦ τελευτήσει θανάτῳ. –
—— Septuagint (LXX) ——Whoever ⓘ his father or his mother shall die the death.—— Masoretic (MT) ——And whoever ⓘ and sells him, or is found in possession of him, shall be put to death.

ומקלל אביו ואמו מות יומת
ὃς ἐὰν κλέψῃ τίς τινα τῶν υἱῶν Ισραηλ καὶ καταδυναστεύσας αὐτὸν ἀποδῶται, καὶ εὑρεθῇ ἐν αὐτῷ, θανάτῳ τελευτάτω. –
—— Septuagint (LXX) ——Whoever ⓘ someone ⓘ and, ⓘ, sells him, and he is found in his possession, let him die the death.—— Masoretic (MT) ——Whoever ⓘ his father or his mother shall be put to death.

וכי יריבן אנשים והכה איש את רעהו באבן או באגרף ולא ימות ונפל למשכב
ἐὰν δὲ λοιδορῶνται δύο ἄνδρες καὶ πατάξῃ τις τὸν πλησίον λίθῳ ἢ πυγμῇ, καὶ μὴ ἀποθάνῃ, κατακλιθῇ δὲ ἐπὶ τὴν κοίτην,
When men quarrel and one strikes the other with a stone or ⓘ, and he does not die but takes to his bed,

אם יקום והתהלך בחוץ על משענתו ונקה המכה רק שבתו יתן ורפא ירפא
ἐὰν ἐξαναστὰς ὁ ἄνθρωπος περιπατήσῃ ἔξω ἐπὶ ῥάβδου, ἀθῷος ἔσται ὁ πατάξας· πλὴν τῆς ἀργίας αὐτοῦ ἀποτείσει καὶ τὰ ἰατρεῖα. –
if then he rises and walks about outside on his staff, the striker is ⓘ: he shall pay only for the ⓘ and shall have him ⓘ.
20
וכי יכה איש את עבדו או את אמתו בשבט ומת תחת ידו נקם ינקם
ἐὰν δέ τις πατάξῃ τὸν παῖδα αὐτοῦ ἢ τὴν παιδίσκην αὐτοῦ ἐν ῥάβδῳ, καὶ ἀποθάνῃ ὑπὸ τὰς χεῖρας αὐτοῦ, δίκῃ ἐκδικηθήτω.
If anyone strikes his manservant or maidservant with a staff and he dies under his blows, ⓘ.
21
אך אם יום או יומים יעמד לא יקם כי כספו הוא
ἐὰν δὲ διαβιώσῃ ἡμέραν μίαν ἢ δύο, οὐκ ἐκδικηθήσεται· τὸ γὰρ ἀργύριον αὐτοῦ ἐστιν. –
But if he survives a day or two, he shall not be avenged, ⓘ.
22
וכי ינצו אנשים ונגפו אשה הרה ויצאו ילדיה ולא יהיה אסון ענוש יענש כאשר ישית עליו בעל האשה ונתן בפללים
ἐὰν δὲ μάχωνται δύο ἄνδρες καὶ πατάξωσιν γυναῖκα ἐν γαστρὶ ἔχουσαν, καὶ ἐξέλθῃ τὸ παιδίον αὐτῆς μὴ ἐξεικονισμένον, ἐπιζήμιον ζημιωθήσεται· καθότι ἂν ἐπιβάλῃ ὁ ἀνὴρ τῆς γυναικός, δώσει μετὰ ἀξιώματος·
—— Septuagint (LXX) ——If then two men quarrel and strike a ⓘ woman, and her child comes out ⓘ, let him be punished with a fine: he shall pay according to what the woman's husband imposes on him, and he shall give ⓘ.—— Masoretic (MT) ——If men struggle and jostle a ⓘ woman, and her children come out but there is no ⓘ, the guilty one shall be fined according to what the husband imposes, and he shall pay before the arbiters.
23
ואם אסון יהיה ונתתה נפש תחת נפש
ἐὰν δὲ ἐξεικονισμένον ἦν, δώσει ψυχὴν ἀντὶ ψυχῆς,
—— Septuagint (LXX) ——But if it ⓘ, he shall give ⓘ,—— Masoretic (MT) ——But if there is grave harm, ⓘ,
24
עין תחת עין שן תחת שן יד תחת יד רגל תחת רגל
ὀφθαλμὸν ἀντὶ ὀφθαλμοῦ, ὀδόντα ἀντὶ ὀδόντος, χεῖρα ἀντὶ χειρός, πόδα ἀντὶ ποδός,
eye for ⓘ, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot,
25
כויה תחת כויה פצע תחת פצע חבורה תחת חבורה
κατάκαυμα ἀντὶ κατακαύματος, τραῦμα ἀντὶ τραύματος, μώλωπα ἀντὶ μώλωπος. –
ⓘ for burn, wound for wound, bruise for bruise.
26
וכי יכה איש את עין עבדו או את עין אמתו ושחתה לחפשי ישלחנו תחת עינו
ἐὰν δέ τις πατάξῃ τὸν ὀφθαλμὸν τοῦ οἰκέτου αὐτοῦ ἢ τὸν ὀφθαλμὸν τῆς θεραπαίνης αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐκτυφλώσῃ, ἐλευθέρους ἐξαποστελεῖ αὐτοὺς ἀντὶ τοῦ ὀφθαλμοῦ αὐτῶν.
If anyone strikes the eye of his manservant or maidservant and blinds it, he shall let him go ⓘ in compensation for his eye.
27
ואם שן עבדו או שן אמתו יפיל לחפשי ישלחנו תחת שנו
ἐὰν δὲ τὸν ὀδόντα τοῦ οἰκέτου ἢ τὸν ὀδόντα τῆς θεραπαίνης αὐτοῦ ἐκκόψῃ, ἐλευθέρους ἐξαποστελεῖ αὐτοὺς ἀντὶ τοῦ ὀδόντος αὐτῶν.
And if he knocks out the tooth of his manservant or maidservant, he shall let him go free in compensation for his tooth.
28
וכי יגח שור את איש או את אשה ומת סקול יסקל השור ולא יאכל את בשרו ובעל השור נקי
Ἐὰν δὲ κερατίσῃ ταῦρος ἄνδρα ἢ γυναῖκα, καὶ ἀποθάνῃ, λίθοις λιθοβοληθήσεται ὁ ταῦρος, καὶ οὐ βρωθήσεται τὰ κρέα αὐτοῦ· ὁ δὲ κύριος τοῦ ταύρου ἀθῷος ἔσται.
If an ⓘ gores a man or a woman to death, the ox shall be stoned and its flesh shall not be eaten; but the owner of the ox is exempt.
29
ואם שור נגח הוא מתמל שלשם והועד בבעליו ולא ישמרנו והמית איש או אשה השור יסקל וגם בעליו יומת
ἐὰν δὲ ὁ ταῦρος κερατιστὴς ᾖ πρὸ τῆς ἐχθὲς καὶ πρὸ τῆς τρίτης, καὶ διαμαρτύρωνται τῷ κυρίῳ αὐτοῦ, καὶ μὴ ἀφανίσῃ αὐτόν, ἀνέλῃ δὲ ἄνδρα ἢ γυναῖκα, ὁ ταῦρος λιθοβοληθήσεται, καὶ ὁ κύριος αὐτοῦ προσαποθανεῖται.
But if the ox was already a ⓘ for some time, and the owner, ⓘ, did not keep it in, and the ox kills a man or a woman, the ox shall be stoned and the owner also shall be put to death.
30
אם כפר יושת עליו ונתן פדין נפשו ככל אשר יושת עליו
ἐὰν δὲ λύτρα ἐπιβληθῇ αὐτῷ, δώσει λύτρα τῆς ψυχῆς αὐτοῦ ὅσα ἐὰν ἐπιβάλωσιν αὐτῷ.
If a ⓘ is imposed on him, he shall give for his own life all that is imposed on him.
31
או בן יגח או בת יגח כמשפט הזה יעשה לו
ἐὰν δὲ υἱὸν ἢ θυγατέρα κερατίσῃ, κατὰ τὸ δικαίωμα τοῦτο ποιήσουσιν αὐτῷ.
If it gores a son or a daughter, the same rule shall apply.
32
אם עבד יגח השור או אמה כסף שלשים שקלים יתן לאדניו והשור יסקל
ἐὰν δὲ παῖδα κερατίσῃ ὁ ταῦρος ἢ παιδίσκην, ἀργυρίου τριάκοντα δίδραχμα δώσει τῷ κυρίῳ αὐτῶν, καὶ ὁ ταῦρος λιθοβοληθήσεται. –
If the ox gores a manservant or a maidservant, the owner shall give ⓘ to the servant's master, and the ox shall be stoned.
33
וכי יפתח איש בור או כי יכרה איש בר ולא יכסנו ונפל שמה שור או חמור
ἐὰν δέ τις ἀνοίξῃ λάκκον ἢ λατομήσῃ λάκκον καὶ μὴ καλύψῃ αὐτόν, καὶ ἐμπέσῃ ἐκεῖ μόσχος ἢ ὄνος,
If anyone leaves a cistern open, or digs one and does not cover it, and an ox or a donkey falls into it,
34
בעל הבור ישלם כסף ישיב לבעליו והמת יהיה לו
ὁ κύριος τοῦ λάκκου ἀποτείσει· ἀργύριον δώσει τῷ κυρίῳ αὐτῶν, τὸ δὲ τετελευτηκὸς αὐτῷ ἔσται. –
the owner of the cistern shall pay, he shall render silver to the proprietor, and the ⓘ shall be his.
35
וכי יגף שור איש את שור רעהו ומת ומכרו את השור החי וחצו את כספו וגם את המת יחצון
ἐὰν δὲ κερατίσῃ τινὸς ταῦρος τὸν ταῦρον τοῦ πλησίον, καὶ τελευτήσῃ, ἀποδώσονται τὸν ταῦρον τὸν ζῶντα καὶ διελοῦνται τὸ ἀργύριον αὐτοῦ καὶ τὸν ταῦρον τὸν τεθνηκότα διελοῦνται.
If one man's ox gores to death his neighbor's ox, they shall sell the live ox and divide the proceeds, and they shall also divide the carcass of the dead one.
36
או נודע כי שור נגח הוא מתמול שלשם ולא ישמרנו בעליו שלם ישלם שור תחת השור והמת יהיה לו
ἐὰν δὲ γνωρίζηται ὁ ταῦρος ὅτι κερατιστής ἐστιν πρὸ τῆς ἐχθὲς καὶ πρὸ τῆς τρίτης ἡμέρας, καὶ διαμεμαρτυρημένοι ὦσιν τῷ κυρίῳ αὐτοῦ, καὶ μὴ ἀφανίσῃ αὐτόν, ἀποτείσει ταῦρον ἀντὶ ταύρου, ὁ δὲ τετελευτηκὼς αὐτῷ ἔσται.
But if it was ⓘ that the ox was a habitual gorer and the owner did not keep it in, he shall pay ox for ox, and the carcass of the dead one shall be his.
37
כי יגנב איש שור או שה וטבחו או מכרו חמשה בקר ישלם תחת השור וארבע צאן תחת השה
Ἐὰν δέ τις κλέψῃ μόσχον ἢ πρόβατον καὶ σφάξῃ αὐτὸ ἢ ἀποδῶται, πέντε μόσχους ἀποτείσει ἀντὶ τοῦ μόσχου καὶ τέσσαρα πρόβατα ἀντὶ τοῦ προβάτου.
If anyone steals an ox or a sheep and slaughters it or sells it, he shall pay ⓘ.
