Orthodox ReadingAnd Moshèh saw the people that they were run wildⓘ — for Aharòn had let them run wild to derisionⓘ among those who had risen against them.

Septuagint (LXX)ἔστη δὲ Μωϋσῆς ἐπὶ τῆς πύλης τῆς παρεμβολῆς καὶ εἶπεν Τίς πρὸς κύριον; ἴτω πρός με. συνῆλθον οὖν πρὸς αὐτὸν πάντες οἱ υἱοὶ Λευι.
Orthodox ReadingAnd Moshèh stood at the gate of the camp and said: «Whoever is for the Tetragrammaton — to me!ⓘ». And all the children of Levì gathered to him.

Orthodox ReadingAnd he said to them: «Thus says the Tetragrammatonⓘ, God of Israèl: Let each one gird his sword on his thigh — pass back and forth from gate to gate in the camp, and let each one kill his brotherⓘ, each one his companion, each one his neighbor».

Hebrew (MT)ויהי ממחרת ויאמר משה אל העם אתם חטאתם חטאה גדלה ועתה אעלה אל יהוה אולי אכפרה בעד חטאתכם
Septuagint (LXX)Καὶ ἐγένετο μετὰ τὴν αὔριον εἶπεν Μωϋσῆς πρὸς τὸν λαόν Ὑμεῖς ἡμαρτήκατε ἁμαρτίαν μεγάλην· καὶ νῦν ἀναβήσομαι πρὸς τὸν θεόν, ἵνα ἐξιλάσωμαι περὶ τῆς ἁμαρτίας ὑμῶν.
Orthodox ReadingAnd it happened the next day: Moshèh said to the people: «You have sinned a great sin; and now I will go up to the Tetragrammatonⓘ — perhaps I will atoneⓘ for your sin».

Orthodox ReadingAnd now go, lead the peopleⓘ to the place of which I have spoken to you — behold, my angelⓘ will go before you; but on the day when I interveneⓘ I will punish upon them their sin».
