ויאמר יהוה אל משה פסל לך שני לחת אבנים כראשנים וכתבתי על הלחת את הדברים אשר היו על הלחת הראשנים אשר שברת
Καὶ εἶπεν κύριος πρὸς Μωυσῆν Λάξευσον σεαυτῷ δύο πλάκας λιθίνας καθὼς καὶ αἱ πρῶται καὶ ἀνάβηθι πρός με εἰς τὸ ὄρος, καὶ γράψω ἐπὶ τῶν πλακῶν τὰ ῥήματα, ἃ ἦν ἐν ταῖς πλαξὶν ταῖς πρώταις, αἷς συνέτριψας.

והיה נכון לבקר ועלית בבקר אל הר סיני ונצבת לי שם על ראש ההר
καὶ γίνου ἕτοιμος εἰς τὸ πρωῒ καὶ ἀναβήσῃ ἐπὶ τὸ ὄρος τὸ Σινα καὶ στήσῃ μοι ἐκεῖ ἐπ’ ἄκρου τοῦ ὄρους.
Be ready in the morning, and in the morning you shall come up on Mount Sinaiⓘ, and you shall stand there for me, on the top of the mountain.

ואיש לא יעלה עמך וגם איש אל ירא בכל ההר גם הצאן והבקר אל ירעו אל מול ההר ההוא
καὶ μηδεὶς ἀναβήτω μετὰ σοῦ μηδὲ ὀφθήτω ἐν παντὶ τῷ ὄρει· καὶ τὰ πρόβατα καὶ αἱ βόες μὴ νεμέσθωσαν πλησίον τοῦ ὄρους ἐκείνου.
Let no one come up with you, and let no one be seen on all the mountain; let neither the flocks nor the herds graze in front of that mountain.

ויפסל שני לחת אבנים כראשנים וישכם משה בבקר ויעל אל הר סיני כאשר צוה יהוה אתו ויקח בידו שני לחת אבנים
καὶ ἐλάξευσεν δύο πλάκας λιθίνας καθάπερ καὶ αἱ πρῶται· καὶ ὀρθρίσας Μωϋσῆς ἀνέβη εἰς τὸ ὄρος τὸ Σινα, καθότι συνέταξεν αὐτῷ κύριος· καὶ ἔλαβεν Μωϋσῆς τὰς δύο πλάκας τὰς λιθίνας.
He cut two tablets of stone like the first; and early in the morning Mosheh went up on Mount Sinai, as the Tetragrammatonⓘ had commanded him, and he took in his hand the two tablets of stone.

וירד יהוה בענן ויתיצב עמו שם ויקרא בשם יהוה
καὶ κατέβη κύριος ἐν νεφέλῃ καὶ παρέστη αὐτῷ ἐκεῖ· καὶ ἐκάλεσεν τῷ ὀνόματι κυρίου.
And the Tetragrammatonⓘ came down in the cloudⓘ, and stood there with him, and proclaimed the Nameⓘ: the Tetragrammaton.

ויעבר יהוה על פניו ויקרא יהוה יהוה אל רחום וחנון ארך אפים ורב חסד ואמת
καὶ παρῆλθεν κύριος πρὸ προσώπου αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐκάλεσεν Κύριος ὁ θεὸς οἰκτίρμων καὶ ἐλεήμων, μακρόθυμος καὶ πολυέλεος καὶ ἀληθινὸς
And the Tetragrammatonⓘ passed before his face and proclaimed: «Tetragrammaton, Tetragrammatonⓘ, merciful and gracious Godⓘ, slow to anger and great in steadfast loveⓘ and truthⓘ,

נצר חסד לאלפים נשא עון ופשע וחטאה ונקה לא ינקה פקד עון אבות על בנים ועל בני בנים על שלשים ועל רבעים
καὶ δικαιοσύνην διατηρῶν καὶ ποιῶν ἔλεος εἰς χιλιάδας, ἀφαιρῶν ἀνομίας καὶ ἀδικίας καὶ ἁμαρτίας, καὶ οὐ καθαριεῖ τὸν ἔνοχον ἐπάγων ἀνομίας πατέρων ἐπὶ τέκνα καὶ ἐπὶ τέκνα τέκνων ἐπὶ τρίτην καὶ τετάρτην γενεάν.
—— Septuagint (LXX) ——and who keeps righteousnessⓘ and who does mercyⓘ for thousands, who takes away iniquity, injustices and sins; but he will not leave the guilty oneⓘ wholly unpunished, visiting the iniquities of the fathers upon the children and upon the children's children, to the third and fourth generationⓘ.—— Masoretic (MT) ——who keeps steadfast love for a thousand generations, who takes away guilt, rebellion and sinⓘ; but he does not leave wholly unpunished, and visits the guilt of the fathers upon the children and upon the children's children, to the third and fourth generationⓘ» — these are the Thirteen Middòtⓘ.

וימהר משה ויקד ארצה וישתחו
καὶ σπεύσας Μωϋσῆς κύψας ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν προσεκύνησεν
And Mosheh hastened, bowed to the ground and prostrated himself

ויאמר אם נא מצאתי חן בעיניך אדני ילך נא אדני בקרבנו כי עם קשה ערף הוא וסלחת לעוננו ולחטאתנו ונחלתנו
καὶ εἶπεν Εἰ εὕρηκα χάριν ἐνώπιόν σου, συμπορευθήτω ὁ κύριός μου μεθ’ ἡμῶν· ὁ λαὸς γὰρ σκληροτράχηλός ἐστιν, καὶ ἀφελεῖς σὺ τὰς ἁμαρτίας ἡμῶν καὶ τὰς ἀνομίας ἡμῶν, καὶ ἐσόμεθα σοί.
and said: If I have found favorⓘ in your eyes, my Lordⓘ, let my Lord go in our midst — for it is a stiff-necked people — and pardon our guilt and our sin, and take us for your inheritanceⓘ.

ויאמר הנה אנכי כרת ברית נגד כל עמך אעשה נפלאת אשר לא נבראו בכל הארץ ובכל הגוים וראה כל העם אשר אתה בקרבו את מעשה יהוה כי נורא הוא אשר אני עשה עמך
καὶ εἶπεν κύριος πρὸς Μωυσῆν Ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ τίθημί σοι διαθήκην· ἐνώπιον παντὸς τοῦ λαοῦ σου ποιήσω ἔνδοξα, ἃ οὐ γέγονεν ἐν πάσῃ τῇ γῇ καὶ ἐν παντὶ ἔθνει, καὶ ὄψεται πᾶς ὁ λαός, ἐν οἷς εἶ σύ, τὰ ἔργα κυρίου ὅτι θαυμαστά ἐστιν ἃ ἐγὼ ποιήσω σοι.
And he said: Behold, I establish a covenantⓘ before all your people: I will do wondersⓘ such as have not been created in all the earth nor in any nation; and all the people, in whose midst you are, shall see the work of the Tetragrammatonⓘ, for awesome is that which I do with you.

שמר לך את אשר אנכי מצוך היום הנני גרש מפניך את האמרי והכנעני והחתי והפרזי והחוי והיבוסי
πρόσεχε σὺ πάντα, ὅσα ἐγὼ ἐντέλλομαί σοι. ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἐκβάλλω πρὸ προσώπου ὑμῶν τὸν Αμορραῖον καὶ Χαναναῖον καὶ Χετταῖον καὶ Φερεζαῖον καὶ Ευαῖον καὶ Γεργεσαῖον καὶ Ιεβουσαῖον·
—— Septuagint (LXX) ——Take heed yourself to all that I command you. Behold, I drive out before your face the Emorite and the Kenaanite and the Hittite and the Perizzite and the Chivvite and the Girgashiteⓘ and the Yevusite;—— Masoretic (MT) ——Keep what I command you today. Behold, I drive out before you the Emorite, the Kenaanite, the Hittite, the Perizzite, the Chivvite and the Yevusiteⓘ.

השמר לך פן תכרת ברית ליושב הארץ אשר אתה בא עליה פן יהיה למוקש בקרבך
πρόσεχε σεαυτῷ, μήποτε θῇς διαθήκην τοῖς ἐγκαθημένοις ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς, εἰς ἣν εἰσπορεύῃ εἰς αὐτήν, μή σοι γένηται πρόσκομμα ἐν ὑμῖν.
Take heed not to make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land into which you enter, lest it become a snareⓘ in your midst.

כי את מזבחתם תתצון ואת מצבתם תשברון ואת אשריו תכרתון
τοὺς βωμοὺς αὐτῶν καθελεῖτε καὶ τὰς στήλας αὐτῶν συντρίψετε καὶ τὰ ἄλση αὐτῶν ἐκκόψετε καὶ τὰ γλυπτὰ τῶν θεῶν αὐτῶν κατακαύσετε ἐν πυρί.
—— Septuagint (LXX) ——Their altarsⓘ you shall tear down and their pillars you shall break and their sacred grovesⓘ you shall cut down, and the carved images of their gods you shall burn with fireⓘ.—— Masoretic (MT) ——Their altars you shall tear down, their pillarsⓘ you shall break and their sacred polesⓘ you shall cut downⓘ.

כי לא תשתחוה לאל אחר כי יהוה קנא שמו אל קנא הוא
οὐ γὰρ μὴ προσκυνήσητε θεῷ ἑτέρῳ· ὁ γὰρ κύριος ὁ θεὸς ζηλωτὸν ὄνομα, θεὸς ζηλωτής ἐστιν.
For you shall not prostrate yourself to another god — for the Tetragrammatonⓘ, «Jealous» is his nameⓘ, is a jealous Godⓘ — jealous of the covenant relationship.

פן תכרת ברית ליושב הארץ וזנו אחרי אלהיהם וזבחו לאלהיהם וקרא לך ואכלת מזבחו
μήποτε θῇς διαθήκην τοῖς ἐγκαθημένοις πρὸς ἀλλοφύλους ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς, καὶ ἐκπορνεύσωσιν ὀπίσω τῶν θεῶν αὐτῶν καὶ θύσωσι τοῖς θεοῖς αὐτῶν καὶ καλέσωσίν σε καὶ φάγῃς τῶν θυμάτων αὐτῶν,
—— Septuagint (LXX) ——so that you do not make a covenant with those who dwell among the strangersⓘ on the land, and they do not prostitute themselvesⓘ after their gods and do not sacrifice to their gods and invite you and you eat of their victims,—— Masoretic (MT) ——Do not make a covenant with the inhabitants of the landⓘ, lest they prostitute themselves after their gods, sacrifice to their gods and invite you, and you eat of their sacrifice,

ולקחת מבנתיו לבניך וזנו בנתיו אחרי אלהיהן והזנו את בניך אחרי אלהיהן
καὶ λάβῃς τῶν θυγατέρων αὐτῶν τοῖς υἱοῖς σου καὶ τῶν θυγατέρων σου δῷς τοῖς υἱοῖς αὐτῶν, καὶ ἐκπορνεύσωσιν αἱ θυγατέρες σου ὀπίσω τῶν θεῶν αὐτῶν καὶ ἐκπορνεύσωσιν τοὺς υἱούς σου ὀπίσω τῶν θεῶν αὐτῶν.
and you take of their daughters for your sons, and their daughters prostitute themselves after their gods and make your sons prostitute themselves after their gods.

אלהי מסכה לא תעשה לך
καὶ θεοὺς χωνευτοὺς οὐ ποιήσεις σεαυτῷ.
Godsⓘ of cast metal you shall not make for yourself.
18
את חג המצות תשמר שבעת ימים תאכל מצות אשר צויתך למועד חדש האביב כי בחדש האביב יצאת ממצרים
καὶ τὴν ἑορτὴν τῶν ἀζύμων φυλάξῃ· ἑπτὰ ἡμέρας φάγῃ ἄζυμα, καθάπερ ἐντέταλμαί σοι, εἰς τὸν καιρὸν ἐν μηνὶ τῶν νέων· ἐν γὰρ μηνὶ τῶν νέων ἐξῆλθες ἐξ Αἰγύπτου.
The feast of Unleavened Breadⓘ you shall observe: seven days you shall eat unleavened bread, as I commanded you, at the appointed time of the month of Avìvⓘ, for in the month of Avìv you went out of Egypt.

כל פטר רחם לי וכל מקנך תזכר פטר שור ושה
πᾶν διανοῖγον μήτραν ἐμοί, τὰ ἀρσενικά, πρωτότοκον μόσχου καὶ πρωτότοκον προβάτου.
Every firstborn of the womb is mine, and every firstling of the livestock, male, of ox and of sheepⓘ.
20
ופטר חמור תפדה בשה ואם לא תפדה וערפתו כל בכור בניך תפדה ולא יראו פני ריקם
καὶ πρωτότοκον ὑποζυγίου λυτρώσῃ προβάτῳ· ἐὰν δὲ μὴ λυτρώσῃ αὐτό, τιμὴν δώσεις. πᾶν πρωτότοκον τῶν υἱῶν σου λυτρώσῃ. οὐκ ὀφθήσῃ ἐνώπιόν μου κενός.
The firstborn of the donkey you shall redeem with a lamb; if you do not redeem it, you shall break its neckⓘ. Every firstborn of your sons you shall redeem. None shall appear before me empty-handed.
21
ששת ימים תעבד וביום השביעי תשבת בחריש ובקציר תשבת
ἓξ ἡμέρας ἐργᾷ, τῇ δὲ ἑβδόμῃ καταπαύσεις· τῷ σπόρῳ καὶ τῷ ἀμήτῳ καταπαύσεις.
Six days you shall labor and on the seventh you shall ceaseⓘ — at plowing and at harvesting you shall cease.
22
וחג שבעת תעשה לך בכורי קציר חטים וחג האסיף תקופת השנה
καὶ ἑορτὴν ἑβδομάδων ποιήσεις μοι ἀρχὴν θερισμοῦ πυρῶν καὶ ἑορτὴν συναγωγῆς μεσοῦντος τοῦ ἐνιαυτοῦ.
The feast of Weeksⓘ you shall make for yourself, firstfruits of the wheat harvest, and the feast of Ingatheringⓘ at the turn of the year.
23
שלש פעמים בשנה יראה כל זכורך את פני האדן יהוה אלהי ישראל
τρεῖς καιροὺς τοῦ ἐνιαυτοῦ ὀφθήσεται πᾶν ἀρσενικόν σου ἐνώπιον κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ Ισραηλ·
Three times a yearⓘ every male of yours shall appear before the Lord, the Tetragrammatonⓘ, God of Israel;
24
כי אוריש גוים מפניך והרחבתי את גבולך ולא יחמד איש את ארצך בעלתך לראות את פני יהוה אלהיך שלש פעמים בשנה
ὅταν γὰρ ἐκβάλω τὰ ἔθνη πρὸ προσώπου σου καὶ πλατύνω τὰ ὅριά σου, οὐκ ἐπιθυμήσει οὐδεὶς τῆς γῆς σου, ἡνίκα ἂν ἀναβαίνῃς ὀφθῆναι ἐναντίον κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ σου τρεῖς καιροὺς τοῦ ἐνιαυτοῦ.
for I will drive out the nations from before you and enlarge your borders, and no one will covet your land when you go up to appear before the Tetragrammatonⓘ your God three times a year.
25
לא תשחט על חמץ דם זבחי ולא ילין לבקר זבח חג הפסח
οὐ σφάξεις ἐπὶ ζύμῃ αἷμα θυμιαμάτων μου. καὶ οὐ κοιμηθήσεται εἰς τὸ πρωῒ θύματα τῆς ἑορτῆς τοῦ πασχα.
—— Septuagint (LXX) ——You shall not offer the blood of my incense offeringsⓘ upon leavenedⓘ bread, and the victim of the feast of Pèsachⓘ shall not remain until the morning.—— Masoretic (MT) ——You shall not offer upon leavened bread the blood of my sacrificeⓘ, nor shall the victim of the feast of Pèsachⓘ remain until the morning.

ראשית בכורי אדמתך תביא בית יהוה אלהיך לא תבשל גדי בחלב אמו
τὰ πρωτογενήματα τῆς γῆς σου θήσεις εἰς τὸν οἶκον κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ σου. οὐ προσοίσεις ἄρνα ἐν γάλακτι μητρὸς αὐτοῦ.
—— Septuagint (LXX) ——and the firstfruitsⓘ of your land you shall place in the house of the Tetragrammatonⓘ your God. You shall not offer the lamb in its mother's milkⓘ.—— Masoretic (MT) ——The firstfruitsⓘ of your land you shall bring into the house of the Tetragrammatonⓘ your God. You shall not boil the kid in its mother's milkⓘ.

ויאמר יהוה אל משה כתב לך את הדברים האלה כי על פי הדברים האלה כרתי אתך ברית ואת ישראל
Καὶ εἶπεν κύριος πρὸς Μωυσῆν Γράψον σεαυτῷ τὰ ῥήματα ταῦτα· ἐπὶ γὰρ τῶν λόγων τούτων τέθειμαί σοι διαθήκην καὶ τῷ Ισραηλ.
And the Tetragrammatonⓘ said to Mosheh: Write for yourself these words, for on the foundation of these words I have established a covenant with you and with Israel.

ויהי שם עם יהוה ארבעים יום וארבעים לילה לחם לא אכל ומים לא שתה ויכתב על הלחת את דברי הברית עשרת הדברים
καὶ ἦν ἐκεῖ Μωϋσῆς ἐναντίον κυρίου τεσσαράκοντα ἡμέρας καὶ τεσσαράκοντα νύκτας· ἄρτον οὐκ ἔφαγεν καὶ ὕδωρ οὐκ ἔπιεν· καὶ ἔγραψεν τὰ ῥήματα ταῦτα ἐπὶ τῶν πλακῶν τῆς διαθήκης, τοὺς δέκα λόγους. –
And he remained there with the Tetragrammatonⓘ forty days and forty nights; bread he did not eat and water he did not drink; and he wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant, the Ten Wordsⓘ.

ויהי ברדת משה מהר סיני ושני לחת העדת ביד משה ברדתו מן ההר ומשה לא ידע כי קרן עור פניו בדברו אתו
ὡς δὲ κατέβαινεν Μωϋσῆς ἐκ τοῦ ὄρους, καὶ αἱ δύο πλάκες ἐπὶ τῶν χειρῶν Μωυσῆ· καταβαίνοντος δὲ αὐτοῦ ἐκ τοῦ ὄρους Μωϋσῆς οὐκ ᾔδει ὅτι δεδόξασται ἡ ὄψις τοῦ χρώματος τοῦ προσώπου αὐτοῦ ἐν τῷ λαλεῖν αὐτὸν αὐτῷ.
When Mosheh came down from Sinai, with the two tablets of the Testimony in his hand, coming down from the mountain he did not know that the skin of his face was radiantⓘ, from having spoken with him.
30
וירא אהרן וכל בני ישראל את משה והנה קרן עור פניו וייראו מגשת אליו
καὶ εἶδεν Ααρων καὶ πάντες οἱ πρεσβύτεροι Ισραηλ τὸν Μωυσῆν καὶ ἦν δεδοξασμένη ἡ ὄψις τοῦ χρώματος τοῦ προσώπου αὐτοῦ, καὶ ἐφοβήθησαν ἐγγίσαι αὐτοῦ.
And Aharòn and all the children of Israel saw Mosheh: behold, the skin of his face was radiant, and they feared to approach him.
31
ויקרא אלהם משה וישבו אליו אהרן וכל הנשאים בעדה וידבר משה אלהם
καὶ ἐκάλεσεν αὐτοὺς Μωϋσῆς, καὶ ἐπεστράφησαν πρὸς αὐτὸν Ααρων καὶ πάντες οἱ ἄρχοντες τῆς συναγωγῆς, καὶ ἐλάλησεν αὐτοῖς Μωϋσῆς.
Mosheh called them, and Aharòn and all the leadersⓘ of the community returned to him, and Mosheh spoke to them.
32
ואחרי כן נגשו כל בני ישראל ויצום את כל אשר דבר יהוה אתו בהר סיני
καὶ μετὰ ταῦτα προσῆλθον πρὸς αὐτὸν πάντες οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ, καὶ ἐνετείλατο αὐτοῖς πάντα, ὅσα ἐλάλησεν κύριος πρὸς αὐτὸν ἐν τῷ ὄρει Σινα.
Then all the children of Israel drew near, and he commanded them all that the Tetragrammatonⓘ had told him on Mount Sinai.

ויכל משה מדבר אתם ויתן על פניו מסוה
καὶ ἐπειδὴ κατέπαυσεν λαλῶν πρὸς αὐτούς, ἐπέθηκεν ἐπὶ τὸ πρόσωπον αὐτοῦ κάλυμμα.
When Mosheh had finished speaking with them, he put a veilⓘ over his face.
34
ובבא משה לפני יהוה לדבר אתו יסיר את המסוה עד צאתו ויצא ודבר אל בני ישראל את אשר יצוה
ἡνίκα δ’ ἂν εἰσεπορεύετο Μωϋσῆς ἔναντι κυρίου λαλεῖν αὐτῷ, περιῃρεῖτο τὸ κάλυμμα ἕως τοῦ ἐκπορεύεσθαι. καὶ ἐξελθὼν ἐλάλει πᾶσιν τοῖς υἱοῖς Ισραηλ ὅσα ἐνετείλατο αὐτῷ κύριος,
When Mosheh went in before the Tetragrammatonⓘ to speak with him, he removed the veil until he came out; and he came out and told the children of Israel what was commanded him,
35
וראו בני ישראל את פני משה כי קרן עור פני משה והשיב משה את המסוה על פניו עד באו לדבר אתו
καὶ εἶδον οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ τὸ πρόσωπον Μωυσῆ ὅτι δεδόξασται, καὶ περιέθηκεν Μωϋσῆς κάλυμμα ἐπὶ τὸ πρόσωπον ἑαυτοῦ, ἕως ἂν εἰσέλθῃ συλλαλεῖν αὐτῷ.
and the children of Israel saw the face of Mosheh, which was radiant, and Mosheh put the veil back over his face, until he went in to speak with him.
