ויהי אחר הדברים האלה והאלהים נסה את אברהם ויאמר אליו אברהם ויאמר הנני
Καὶ ἐγένετο μετὰ τὰ ῥήματα ταῦτα ὁ θεὸς ἐπείραζεν τὸν Αβρααμ καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτόν Αβρααμ, Αβρααμ· ὁ δὲ εἶπεν Ἰδοὺ ἐγώ.
And it came to pass, after these things, that God put to the testⓘ Abraham, and said to him: «Abraham!». He answered: «Here I amⓘ».

ויאמר קח נא את בנך את יחידך אשר אהבת את יצחק ולך לך אל ארץ המריה והעלהו שם לעלה על אחד ההרים אשר אמר אליך
καὶ εἶπεν Λαβὲ τὸν υἱόν σου τὸν ἀγαπητόν, ὃν ἠγάπησας, τὸν Ισαακ, καὶ πορεύθητι εἰς τὴν γῆν τὴν ὑψηλὴν καὶ ἀνένεγκον αὐτὸν ἐκεῖ εἰς ὁλοκάρπωσιν ἐφ’ ἓν τῶν ὀρέων, ὧν ἄν σοι εἴπω.
And he said: «Take now your son, your only oneⓘ, whom you love, Isaac, and go to the territory of Moriahⓘ, and offer him there as a burnt offeringⓘ on one of the mountains that I will tell you».

וישכם אברהם בבקר ויחבש את חמרו ויקח את שני נעריו אתו ואת יצחק בנו ויבקע עצי עלה ויקם וילך אל המקום אשר אמר לו האלהים
ἀναστὰς δὲ Αβρααμ τὸ πρωῒ ἐπέσαξεν τὴν ὄνον αὐτοῦ· παρέλαβεν δὲ μεθ’ ἑαυτοῦ δύο παῖδας καὶ Ισαακ τὸν υἱὸν αὐτοῦ καὶ σχίσας ξύλα εἰς ὁλοκάρπωσιν ἀναστὰς ἐπορεύθη καὶ ἦλθεν ἐπὶ τὸν τόπον, ὃν εἶπεν αὐτῷ ὁ θεός.
And Abraham rose early in the morningⓘ, saddled his donkeyⓘ, took with him his two servants and Isaac his son, split the wood for the burnt offering, rose and went to the place that God had told him.

ביום השלישי וישא אברהם את עיניו וירא את המקום מרחק
τῇ ἡμέρᾳ τῇ τρίτῃ καὶ ἀναβλέψας Αβρααμ τοῖς ὀφθαλμοῖς εἶδεν τὸν τόπον μακρόθεν.
On the third dayⓘ Abraham lifted up his eyes and saw the place from afar.

ויאמר אברהם אל נעריו שבו לכם פה עם החמור ואני והנער נלכה עד כה ונשתחוה ונשובה אליכם
καὶ εἶπεν Αβρααμ τοῖς παισὶν αὐτοῦ Καθίσατε αὐτοῦ μετὰ τῆς ὄνου, ἐγὼ δὲ καὶ τὸ παιδάριον διελευσόμεθα ἕως ὧδε καὶ προσκυνήσαντες ἀναστρέψωμεν πρὸς ὑμᾶς.
And Abraham said to his servants: «Stay here with the donkey; I and the boy will go yonder, we will bow down and we will returnⓘ to you».

ויקח אברהם את עצי העלה וישם על יצחק בנו ויקח בידו את האש ואת המאכלת וילכו שניהם יחדו
ἔλαβεν δὲ Αβρααμ τὰ ξύλα τῆς ὁλοκαρπώσεως καὶ ἐπέθηκεν Ισαακ τῷ υἱῷ αὐτοῦ· ἔλαβεν δὲ καὶ τὸ πῦρ μετὰ χεῖρα καὶ τὴν μάχαιραν, καὶ ἐπορεύθησαν οἱ δύο ἅμα.
And Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering and laid it on Isaac his son; he took in his hand the fire and the knifeⓘ, and the two of them went togetherⓘ.

ויאמר יצחק אל אברהם אביו ויאמר אבי ויאמר הנני בני ויאמר הנה האש והעצים ואיה השה לעלה
εἶπεν δὲ Ισαακ πρὸς Αβρααμ τὸν πατέρα αὐτοῦ εἴπας Πάτερ. ὁ δὲ εἶπεν Τί ἐστιν, τέκνον; λέγων Ἰδοὺ τὸ πῦρ καὶ τὰ ξύλα· ποῦ ἐστιν τὸ πρόβατον τὸ εἰς ὁλοκάρπωσιν;
And Isaac said to Abraham his father: «My fatherⓘ!». He answered: «Here I am, my son». And he said: «Behold the fire and the wood, but where is the lambⓘ for the burnt offering?».

ויאמר אברהם אלהים יראה לו השה לעלה בני וילכו שניהם יחדו
εἶπεν δὲ Αβρααμ Ὁ θεὸς ὄψεται ἑαυτῷ πρόβατον εἰς ὁλοκάρπωσιν, τέκνον. πορευθέντες δὲ ἀμφότεροι ἅμα
And Abraham answered: «God will provide himself the lambⓘ for the burnt offering, my son». And the two of them went on together.

ויבאו אל המקום אשר אמר לו האלהים ויבן שם אברהם את המזבח ויערך את העצים ויעקד את יצחק בנו וישם אתו על המזבח ממעל לעצים
ἦλθον ἐπὶ τὸν τόπον, ὃν εἶπεν αὐτῷ ὁ θεός. καὶ ᾠκοδόμησεν ἐκεῖ Αβρααμ θυσιαστήριον καὶ ἐπέθηκεν τὰ ξύλα καὶ συμποδίσας Ισαακ τὸν υἱὸν αὐτοῦ ἐπέθηκεν αὐτὸν ἐπὶ τὸ θυσιαστήριον ἐπάνω τῶν ξύλων.
And they came to the place that God had told him; and Abraham built there the altarⓘ, arranged the wood, boundⓘ Isaac his son and laid him on the altar, upon the wood.

וישלח אברהם את ידו ויקח את המאכלת לשחט את בנו
καὶ ἐξέτεινεν Αβρααμ τὴν χεῖρα αὐτοῦ λαβεῖν τὴν μάχαιραν σφάξαι τὸν υἱὸν αὐτοῦ.
And Abraham stretched out his handⓘ and took the knife to slay his son.

ויקרא אליו מלאך יהוה מן השמים ויאמר אברהם אברהם ויאמר הנני
καὶ ἐκάλεσεν αὐτὸν ἄγγελος κυρίου ἐκ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ Αβρααμ, Αβρααμ. ὁ δὲ εἶπεν Ἰδοὺ ἐγώ.
But the Angel of the Tetragrammatonⓘ called to him from heaven and said: «Abraham, Abraham!». He answered: «Here I am!».

ויאמר אל תשלח ידך אל הנער ואל תעש לו מאומה כי עתה ידעתי כי ירא אלהים אתה ולא חשכת את בנך את יחידך ממני
καὶ εἶπεν Μὴ ἐπιβάλῃς τὴν χεῖρά σου ἐπὶ τὸ παιδάριον μηδὲ ποιήσῃς αὐτῷ μηδέν· νῦν γὰρ ἔγνων ὅτι φοβῇ τὸν θεὸν σὺ καὶ οὐκ ἐφείσω τοῦ υἱοῦ σου τοῦ ἀγαπητοῦ δι’ ἐμέ.
And he said: «Do not stretch out your handⓘ against the boy and do nothing to him! Now I knowⓘ that you fear God and have not withheld from me your son, your only one».

וישא אברהם את עיניו וירא והנה איל אחר נאחז בסבך בקרניו וילך אברהם ויקח את האיל ויעלהו לעלה תחת בנו
καὶ ἀναβλέψας Αβρααμ τοῖς ὀφθαλμοῖς αὐτοῦ εἶδεν, καὶ ἰδοὺ κριὸς εἷς κατεχόμενος ἐν φυτῷ σαβεκ τῶν κεράτων· καὶ ἐπορεύθη Αβρααμ καὶ ἔλαβεν τὸν κριὸν καὶ ἀνήνεγκεν αὐτὸν εἰς ὁλοκάρπωσιν ἀντὶ Ισαακ τοῦ υἱοῦ αὐτοῦ.
And Abraham lifted up his eyes and looked: and behold, behind him a ramⓘ caught by its horns in the thicketⓘ. And Abraham went, took the ram and offered it as a burnt offering in place of his sonⓘ.

ויקרא אברהם שם המקום ההוא יהוה יראה אשר יאמר היום בהר יהוה יראה
καὶ ἐκάλεσεν Αβρααμ τὸ ὄνομα τοῦ τόπου ἐκείνου Κύριος εἶδεν, ἵνα εἴπωσιν σήμερον Ἐν τῷ ὄρει κύριος ὤφθη.
And Abraham called that place «The Tetragrammaton seesⓘ»; therefore it is said today: «On the mount the Tetragrammaton lets himself be seenⓘ».

ויקרא מלאך יהוה אל אברהם שנית מן השמים
καὶ ἐκάλεσεν ἄγγελος κυρίου τὸν Αβρααμ δεύτερον ἐκ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ
And the Angel of the Tetragrammaton called to Abraham from heaven a second timeⓘ

ויאמר בי נשבעתי נאם יהוה כי יען אשר עשית את הדבר הזה ולא חשכת את בנך את יחידך
λέγων Κατ’ ἐμαυτοῦ ὤμοσα, λέγει κύριος, οὗ εἵνεκεν ἐποίησας τὸ ῥῆμα τοῦτο καὶ οὐκ ἐφείσω τοῦ υἱοῦ σου τοῦ ἀγαπητοῦ δι’ ἐμέ,
and said: «By myself I have swornⓘ, oracle of the Tetragrammaton: because you have done this and have not spared your son, your only one,

כי ברך אברכך והרבה ארבה את זרעך ככוכבי השמים וכחול אשר על שפת הים וירש זרעך את שער איביו
ἦ μὴν εὐλογῶν εὐλογήσω σε καὶ πληθύνων πληθυνῶ τὸ σπέρμα σου ὡς τοὺς ἀστέρας τοῦ οὐρανοῦ καὶ ὡς τὴν ἄμμον τὴν παρὰ τὸ χεῖλος τῆς θαλάσσης, καὶ κληρονομήσει τὸ σπέρμα σου τὰς πόλεις τῶν ὑπεναντίων·
I will bless you abundantly and multiply your offspring like the stars of heaven and like the sand on the seashoreⓘ; and your offspring shall possess the gate of its enemiesⓘ.

והתברכו בזרעך כל גויי הארץ עקב אשר שמעת בקלי
καὶ ἐνευλογηθήσονται ἐν τῷ σπέρματί σου πάντα τὰ ἔθνη τῆς γῆς, ἀνθ’ ὧν ὑπήκουσας τῆς ἐμῆς φωνῆς.
And in your offspringⓘ all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed my voiceⓘ».

וישב אברהם אל נעריו ויקמו וילכו יחדו אל באר שבע וישב אברהם בבאר שבע
ἀπεστράφη δὲ Αβρααμ πρὸς τοὺς παῖδας αὐτοῦ, καὶ ἀναστάντες ἐπορεύθησαν ἅμα ἐπὶ τὸ φρέαρ τοῦ ὅρκου. καὶ κατῴκησεν Αβρααμ ἐπὶ τῷ φρέατι τοῦ ὅρκου.
And Abraham returned to his servants; they rose and went together to Beershebaⓘ, and Abraham dwelt at Beersheba.
